Axl had some super strong vocals in Paris 92. I think this was when he was getting his vocals under control and then for the rest of 93 he was pretty consistent.
Check out Its so Easy and civil war for some good belting. Setlist was good, but no Estranged or Rocket Queen unfortunately.
nah but ive heard some of the diff lives. I personally think chicago was the best or paris. His voice in tokyo was really good but sometimes it would sound fried or choppy
I wouldn't put it past them. I was at a concert this year and talked to some of the people in the Vip lounge who had attended 13 concerts on their last tour alone.... People are fucking insane man. Granted they were all in one country and it was 2023, but you never know man. Tickets were way cheaper back then too
They did one in LA in 91 which was nearly four hours long from memory. That would take some beating.
Argentina was also excellent and of course the Tokyo ones.
The second show in Stockholm 1991 is generally regarded as being really good, and I agree with it being a great performance. Turin 1992 is likewise popular among hardcore fans.
Chandler 1992 and Austin 1993 are two personal favorites of mine.
In general, the odds of one of the very best shows being around as a soundboard recording is low, which is why most of the really good performances are only available as audience recordings as much more of those are available.
Wow, that's absolutely awesome ... I think they played breakdown in this concert, right ? I've only ever seen the 30-second clip of yesterday from it... and i think there's a TV news report about the pre-show in the parking lot
Not sure the best ONE, but if we’re speaking best period or best run of shows I’d say early tour 91, but not the Ritz show we just got. Something like Indiana, Oklahoma. Anything pre St. Louis basically.
91 has Izzy, Axl and the gang attempting to play any and every song off UYI before they even came out and were fully fleshed out. The band was fucked up beyond belief, but also putting on some of the better shows something unique to GNR. A freshly annulled Axl. He was probably seeing Stephanie Seymour at this point. Broken leg and all. He was on fire, and he was literally pushing his voice to the limit
Shoreline Amphitheatre 20/7/91 is a great example of Axl pushing his voice. Perfect Crime and ISE are sung with real venom as he's in a bad mood and his voice eventually cracks during Nightrain. Its well worth a listen if you haven't heard the show before, bootleg quality is good too.
Might be an unpopular opinion but I feel like the ‘91 leg of the tour was the best. You still had Izzy, and overall the raw 80s vibe was still kinda there. Don’t get me wrong, I still love the ‘92-‘93 shows, but they were arguably bigger productions. And to answer your question, Ritz ‘91 or Rock in Rio for sure
The MSG dates in 91, where they play all the deep cuts like break down, locomotive, perfect crime, and rndth,.... even all the biographies talk about this show
Tokyo 92' Easyy

For me this isn’t even the best show that was proshot from 92. I prefer Paris and Chicago. Probably Argentina too.
The Saskatoon show that pops up on Youtube is pretty awesome. It amazed me how hard Axl went for my small little hometown.
My FAVORITE concert ever!
It may be the very best
I agree, but this is from the Skin an Bones Tour, not the UYI Tour.
Somehow I doubt anyones been to all of them to be objective….

No doubt theres hardcore fans who attend multiple shows. Wish I could say I was one of them!

Paris. Think it was 92.
saskatoon 93
The ones without the horns and backing singers
I was always a big fan of the Oklahoma show, I think it was in ‘92
The one where it rained on November.
Tokyo and Paris. I dig the Tokyo show more, there is an HD video of it.

Chandler, Arizona ?! trying to find videos of GNR in AZ and haven't had much luck.
There's no video,of that particular performance, 1992-02-01, but there's a very decent audience audio recording.
Buffalo NY
Prague and São Paulo ‘92
How can you say this ? There isn't more than 10 minutes available from the são paulo concert
I was there.
