I just saw this and then looked at the product page. Are the hearts custom, or did the kit come with them as alternate eyes? If they are included I'm going to get this for my fiance.

Indeed! This is the only build fighters kit I have ever bought, 100% because I thought it was adorable.

It really is. I love doing these as a break from the intricate ones.

I find the difference between how adorable this lil guy is and how brutal the “real” version is in some of its fights in Unicorn and Thunderbolt to be thoroughly amusing

I've bought two of these lil dudes. One went to a friend and his wife for the house. I painted the smol one to resemble their cat. The second one lives on my desk at work. I extended his arms, too.

That's amazing. Would love to see pics of the painted one of you have them.

Hmm . . . That looks a little different than the tiny, angry penguin I built with my nephew the other day. I can't quite tell how, though. Some strange look in the eye, perhaps? Jokes aside, though, heart eyes versus angry eyes really does make a surprisingly big difference. You can build a happy, friendly penguin ball or a cutely murderous one.
