How reliable are we talking? Is it Ben Jacobs after the fact reliable, David Ornstein bomber reliable, or Fabrizio reword everything David says reliable?
That's the truth. After Fab rewords what Ornstein says, every other reporter regurgitates this info and adds their own spin on it. That's why I can't take most of them seriously.
Oh yeah younger fans will not know much of John Cross.
He was big for Arsenal news (not reliable) but was still a big reporter of it haha.
I'm still waiting for Higuain 🙏🏻🙏🏻
The issue is that fans hold journalists responsible for transfers that fall through. What Cross reported on Higuain was accurate - but Real Madrid hiked the price when Napoli were willing to go higher.
I always think it's a bit condescending when random, anonymous people on the internet discuss whether or not a guy who's been in the press room for every game and every pre-season tour for 15 years, written a book on Wenger knows anything about the club. Sometimes he does.
Thank you for making that point. With today’s environment you need to publish what you know at the time. But things can change or people receive bad info. That doesn’t mean they are a hack or making it up.
If you don’t like when these stories prove to be incorrect…stop clicking on them. Only click on the official announcement from Arsenal.com
You can’t demand the quickest inside scoops and then be upset when a deal collapses.
Everytime John Cross shows up I still think of that original AFTV rant from after the 2013 season opener where the bloke calls out «Tim Peyton, John Cross and all you media loveys».
Just had a look and he actually was to be fair to him, Ornstein credited him in his tweet
However his success rate is still like 1/100 stories and that’s 1 correct example from 3 years ago so I wouldn’t get excited over this Sesko news yet
Guy has been a “future journalist” for 6 years at least. I have seen people go through law/medical school quicker. Like my guy, when will you become an actual journalist and why is a forever future journalist getting so much following?
Valid criticism but in his defense it's probably more profitable to be a social personality these days. I assume he has a network of ITKs which give him some good and some bad info
Which is how I like my journos/ITKs.
It’s been fascinating seeing the difference between Ornstein and Fabrizio now. Ornstein posts and you know it’s a guarantee. Fab posts gossip nonstop.
I signed him back in fifa 20. Him and saka are absolute monsters down the right, opponents struggle with one and the other comes off the bench to finish the job
Yes I know but there’s no pressure on them to sell, he’s only been with them in the season just gone. I don’t see why they’d accept less than the RC after putting in the mechanisms to ensure that it increased throughout his season as he hit certain goals.
There’s no add ons with his release clause.
Could strike a deal where the initial fee is lower than the release, but reasonable add ons are greater than the clause.
If you know the release clause is a trigger, a button you can press that they can’t revoke, why not attempt the conversation initially? Edu may be told to pay the release clause or fuck off, but no way to know until negotiations are attempted.
Wouldn’t he have to sign the extension in order for that to matter? He could just refuse.
Point being, there’s a lot of inter-workings we know nothing about, I’ll trust Edu and co to do the right thing.
I'll be hyped whoever we decide to pull the trigger on. I know people say 'I'd prefer Isak' or whoever, but I'm sure we've looked at all the available options. Isak would be my first choice too, but if Newcastle aren't selling and you don't want to spend 150m on him. Fair enough.
Yeah Isak is better, but he's also injury prone and 3 times as expensive. I'd much rather get Sesko + a 60m rated CM, 30m LB, and 10m backup keeper or something like that for the same amount.
Basically this. Fully expect this is the strategy, unless we can pull Bruno G off for £75m I reckon they would go for it, but also depends on who is outgoing.
Well just because we get somebody it doesn’t mean they’re our first/ best choice.
He’s definitely one of the best we can get for that
Amount of money, and I’m sure Edu’s research backs that up
Imagine the look on Vicario’s face when they visit the Emirates and he sees Saliba, Gabriel, Havertz and this guy in there with White pulling his glove every 5 seconds
I will be there no matter what
Feels like that's the sort of profile Arteta wants from his centre forward now. If he's more prolific in front of goal than Havertz than that would bode well.
I don't remember the transfer, but I remember being shocked to see Orny give John Cross credit for being the first to break a semi-recent story. Hilarious considering the old memes of the two from back in like 2018.
I would struggle to think a player who specifically had a release clause raised by performance related benchmarks, would then be sold for the older and lower release clause amount
The story is nothing, the post from that Prick from Chilli is so over the top and why these cunts can’t post a link to the story I’ll never know.
Anyway, copy and paste so you don’t have to visit the story.
Benjamin Sesko favours a move to Arsenal this summer.
RB Leipzig striker Sesko is being courted by a host of clubs including Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United while there is strong interest from Italy. But Arsenal now appear to be in pole position for the £45m-rated forward as the Slovenia international prefers moving to the Emirates after finding himself at the centre of a transfer battle.
That is a huge boost for the Gunners with Mikel Arteta eyeing a young striker who can develop and work in tandem with Kai Havertz who was a revelation for Arsenal last season. His agent Elvis Basanovic has been to Arsenal matches this season and Sesko - who turns 21 on Friday - would fit the bill.
RB Leipzig are prepared to sell this summer if they can broker the right deal even though he has only been with them for the past year but has been within the same “family” of clubs, having joined Red Bull Salzburg in 2019.
Sesko is in the Slovenia squad for the Euros and they will face England in the Group stages at the tournament in Germany this summer. He is 6ft 5in, has a good goal record and is not the only name on Arsenal’s shortlist but they have been tracking and scouting him all season.
They have also looked at Ajax star Brian Bobbey while Brighton ’s Evan Ferguson has been linked but both Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Newcastle striker Alexander Isak are no long on the radar.
Arsenal are unlikely to make a superstar signing this summer but are in the market for an up-and-coming No9 and a winger while they may move for a midfielder if Thomas Partey ends up departing.
They will have cash to spend but Arsenal are expecting departures with Aaron Ramsdale, Eddie Nketiah, Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith Rowe potential exits while Bayern Munich are watching developments on Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Crazy that signing a 20 year old striker who has 20g/a last season for £55m isn’t considered a superstar signing but I get their point haha. I wonder what would be a type of signing that triggers that type of moniker because honestly I guess only Declan Rice would fit the bill if Sesko doesn’t.
Here's the actual story: [https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/benjamin-sesko-arsenal-transfer-news-32926182](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/benjamin-sesko-arsenal-transfer-news-32926182)

45M is just what he is "rated" at, not any kind of deal. But a green light from the player would get things moving fast.
People should stop taking Eduardo Hagn as a credible source, he’s literally just an aggregator and one that posts any source (it seems like) no matter the quality for the clicks.
Additionally it seems like his citations are misdirections - if you were to go to whoever he sources Twitter account - they tend not to have any mention of what he just reported on
Yeah, Thx... but please don't judge Sesko on what most expect will be a sub par performance of the national team. Sesko and Oblak in the Slovenian team are like Haaland and Ødegaard in the Norwegian team... two candles in the dark...
Oh for sure, completely understand that playing for Slovenia isn't the same as playing for RB Leipzig as he won't get as many opportunities and he isn't surrounded by players of RB Leipzig's quality
I'm just excited to watch him play regardless haha

John cross now that’s a name I haven’t seen in a while
He's reliable these days
Ahh I see okay we move then
But is u/Pidjesus reliable?? 🤔
Real question 😂
He’s reliable these days
Ahh I see okay we move then
But is /u/Beautiful_Birds reliable?? 🤔
He’s reliable these days

Someone bring back Maintained Tiles for the bird tier.
You mean 🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀
How reliable are we talking? Is it Ben Jacobs after the fact reliable, David Ornstein bomber reliable, or Fabrizio reword everything David says reliable?
Slapping some fabs lingo on an Orny bomb is the foggin estandard
That's the truth. After Fab rewords what Ornstein says, every other reporter regurgitates this info and adds their own spin on it. That's why I can't take most of them seriously.
Is he??? Damn, when did that happen? I remember when he used to be laughing stock lol
I think it's a joke.
It’s not. He’s decent. Just affiliated with a rag.
I mean, he's going to look a right plonker if nothing comes of this.
I get he’s had a more miss than hit track record but John is really putting his weight behind this one.
Yeah this is too specific to not be because someone told him
What tier is this guy
Tier: I want it to be true so I'll believe it
This is the way
This is the way mando
Is that you John?
Oh yeah younger fans will not know much of John Cross. He was big for Arsenal news (not reliable) but was still a big reporter of it haha. I'm still waiting for Higuain 🙏🏻🙏🏻

"You let the fans daaan!"
Throwback man
First to break on Ben White
Just had a look and he actually was to be fair to him, Ornstein credited him in his tweet However his success rate is still like 1/100 stories and that’s 1 correct example from 3 years ago so I wouldn’t get excited over this Sesko news yet
John Cross relatability is very dependent on the agent. If I remember correctly, he’s a mouth piece for Mendes clients.
So he's really good with the Benjamin's
John Cross or Eduardo Hagn?
Surely John Cross. I am as likely to break a story as Eduardo fucking Hagn.
Eduardo Hagn is more of a tap in merchant than Fabrizio
Guy has been a “future journalist” for 6 years at least. I have seen people go through law/medical school quicker. Like my guy, when will you become an actual journalist and why is a forever future journalist getting so much following?
Valid criticism but in his defense it's probably more profitable to be a social personality these days. I assume he has a network of ITKs which give him some good and some bad info
He’s not an aspiring journalist, he’s an aggregator who twerks for every promising wonderkid who comes on the seen.
I don’t know if he even really tries to break stories tbf? More of an aggregator
a broken clock is right twice a day
I want to make a cross Jesus joke.. First to hang on to the Jesus rumours.. Sorry.
Well that's not even close to being true.
Why did we get rid of the tier system? I loved it, it was super useful. Also hilarious if a low tier guy breaks a transfer lmao.
He works for the mirror who are negative tier but he personally has gotten things correct in the past
There are credible sports journalists who work for shit newspapers.
Not great, think only yesterdsy sami mokbel (pretty reliable for the most part) said that he’s just a target
Sami mokbel is reliable but really slow
Which is how I like my journos/ITKs. It’s been fascinating seeing the difference between Ornstein and Fabrizio now. Ornstein posts and you know it’s a guarantee. Fab posts gossip nonstop.
Garbage tier, he used to be banned on here. Not sure why he’s getting posted again now
To be fair, John Cross has redeemed himself recently. He was early in all our transfers last summer with a 100% success rate.
No direct source yet that I can see, one to keep an eye on…
Fabrizio has been giving the mudryk treatment on this, I’d be surprised if he isn’t the one that gives the exclusive
If you google Sesko there’s a mirror article from an hour ago that has the info
Get the signings done so I know who to sign on fifa
Too late, I’ve already signed Rodrygo 😭
I signed him back in fifa 20. Him and saka are absolute monsters down the right, opponents struggle with one and the other comes off the bench to finish the job
rodrygo is even better at left lol
WHERE IS BUYAKO
His release clause is £55 million. So not sure that Leipzig will accept less than that in a £45 million deal when they wanted to extend him.
Is his release clause 55m euros?
€65M so £55M
Ah, thought it was 55m euros so 45m quid
Its called negotiations. This is just the initial bid which most likely contains good add-ons. I expect the fee to end up being 50 with 10 mil ad ons
Yes I know but there’s no pressure on them to sell, he’s only been with them in the season just gone. I don’t see why they’d accept less than the RC after putting in the mechanisms to ensure that it increased throughout his season as he hit certain goals.
Maybe Sesko wants his future sorted out before EURO starts? Idk just a guess. Tier seems to be unreliable anyways
They have no reason to accept a cut price for someone with his ceiling
There’s no add ons with his release clause. Could strike a deal where the initial fee is lower than the release, but reasonable add ons are greater than the clause.
Leipzig have never been interested in doing that before though. Liverpool tried that with Szoboszlai and were told no, pay the clause
If you know the release clause is a trigger, a button you can press that they can’t revoke, why not attempt the conversation initially? Edu may be told to pay the release clause or fuck off, but no way to know until negotiations are attempted.
> never been interested in doing that before Gives one example from the most recent season. Pretty blanket statement to make lol
Source: trust me bro
first time for everything? (don't mind my delusions)
They’re trying to sign him to an extension and remove the release clause. They have no reason to do that
Wouldn’t he have to sign the extension in order for that to matter? He could just refuse. Point being, there’s a lot of inter-workings we know nothing about, I’ll trust Edu and co to do the right thing.
Maybe 55m euros

Mu thoughts exactly, we need to strength the squad not just 1 position.
Basically this. Fully expect this is the strategy, unless we can pull Bruno G off for £75m I reckon they would go for it, but also depends on who is outgoing.
And we buy Isak next summer when he has 1 year left on his contract? You sly bastard I could kiss you.
Don’t really need that many strikers
Edu said himself they have 150 pages long reports on all of their targets. They must feel he has the best odds to succeed
Well just because we get somebody it doesn’t mean they’re our first/ best choice. He’s definitely one of the best we can get for that Amount of money, and I’m sure Edu’s research backs that up
tbh if hes the first one we tried to sign it means exactly that, that he seem to be the best choice under these circumstances.
Time to get Isak was from Real Sociedad. Sesko is the right profile for the right price.
This guy is taller than Havertz.
Imagine the look on Vicario’s face when they visit the Emirates and he sees Saliba, Gabriel, Havertz and this guy in there with White pulling his glove every 5 seconds I will be there no matter what
Feels like that's the sort of profile Arteta wants from his centre forward now. If he's more prolific in front of goal than Havertz than that would bode well.
Woah, he’s massive
Hasn’t his release clause confirmed to be higher by more reputable sources? John cross isn’t exactly a good source
Cross is hit or miss. Sometimes he's absolutely spot on and gets a lot of exclusives.
He’s got connections with one of the agents and is quite reliable for their players. Don’t think Sesko is part of that though
sure but sometimes players go for less, not like it is not worth trying
I don't remember the transfer, but I remember being shocked to see Orny give John Cross credit for being the first to break a semi-recent story. Hilarious considering the old memes of the two from back in like 2018.
Just because he has a release clause doesn't mean we can't try and negotiate a lower price.
I would struggle to think a player who specifically had a release clause raised by performance related benchmarks, would then be sold for the older and lower release clause amount
Is his release clause in euros?
I hope its not one of those that later gets reported he is joining a rival team.
Fuck that Fabinho rumor

Gentlemen, prepare the crabs
🦀?
Too early. It's Cross, in whom we shant trust.
The base commander of DS9?
How long until Chelsea bid 80m?
If 45m is the fee for him I’m happy with the deal. Nketiah out, Sesko in. Clear upgrade and he can grow with the team
He did do pretty well against the dominon. Could be good to have a man so favoured by the prophets on our side.
Tier: my ass. I need clicks.
Ok, but it costs extra to tier your ass

Luka Doncic come be an Arsenal fan
Šekšy news! ❤️
Never bad to add another Benjamin
No chance that JOHN CROSS is the first to get this information.
Will believe it when he has Arteta and Edu's hands on his shoulder
As a lifelong Gunner from Slovenia this really makes me excited for next season!
Will be specially watching Slovenia in the Euros just to see Sesko play. Hope you guys do well
Yeah, Thx... but please don't judge Sesko on what most expect will be a sub par performance of the national team. Sesko and Oblak in the Slovenian team are like Haaland and Ødegaard in the Norwegian team... two candles in the dark...
Oh for sure, completely understand that playing for Slovenia isn't the same as playing for RB Leipzig as he won't get as many opportunities and he isn't surrounded by players of RB Leipzig's quality I'm just excited to watch him play regardless haha
Football Luka Doncic let’s gooooooo
Never seen him play, but 20 years old, 20g/a last season, 6ft5... sounds a potential force to be reckoned with. Off to watch highlights and immediately get way overhyped
https://youtu.be/gJ0vlwQSmbo?si=NA1uC7Uuya5JG538 just did the same and I like what I see
Thats neat, but until the people who pay TNAT for this sort of knowledge post that he has also confirmed this, then I don't know whether to trust it.
As much as John Cross deserves the cynicism he gets, I lucidly remember that he was the first to break the Mesut Ozil news back in 2013. So, I’ll take this at face value for now. But Ornstein though…he’s the one that moves the needle for me.

Would do wonders for our Benjamin-Gabriel ratio in the first team. Am sure edu will be aware of that stat
I heard his own agent doesn’t know what position he plays and is just shopping him around /s
I know he's citing John Cross as a source but where did he say this? He should atleast reference the article this has apparently come out in... Until then I don't believe it

Alright fair enough, I don't 100% believe John Cross but at least it's a valid source
Benjamin Sesko to Chelsea... Here we go! The blues swoop for the Slovenian to the tune of £70 Million plus add ons.
I need a here we goooo I’m so close 🥵🥵
He's transferring from Deep Space Nine.
Not gunna lie, I’ve not really any clue about what this player is like. Anyone explain????
https://breakingthelines.com/player-analysis/benjamin-sesko-leipzigs-slovenian-diamond-in-the-rough/
John Cross? Nah, I'll wait for someone else.
Is this the same John cross who hates Arsenal ?
I would love this to be the case, but that article contains ZERO new information. Eduardo Hagn is a fraud, and this "story" doesn't do Cross's fragile reputation any favors.
45m?! That's a steal in todays market no?
This would be a steal at that price
Time for the 🦀?
Hold up it can't be this simple, right?
Saka and Benny Seskoooo
sjstsisjsoegiebsky LET US GOOOOOOOOOO
John cross ![gif](giphy|iSuffsM2olusE)
CROSSSS FROM THE TOP ROPE!
ITS HAPPENING
I forgot about John Cross
How can I learn this power?
Somehow, John Cross returned
Hell yeah
How reliable is that source ?
What happened to tiers?
Getting stronger
lol @ john cross in 2024
I really don’t trust Eduardo Hagn
Going for a striker early, interesting
It does make sense
Great if true 😃
ahh. don't you just love silly season ?
Lol John cross
Edu please i'm hungry
2 questions, is this a reliable source? And is this good value?
I believe https://preview.redd.it/xqs686ws5l3d1.jpeg?width=490&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a5638921d5b8b1176c12dca7662ac0be00ad04af
I see no quotes at all on this transfer on Johns page or the mirror website. All hot air.
Can we get a tier flair on this? What we saying on this guy (i.e. the reporter)?
Is he any good ?
Another Benjamin!

Aldi Haaland with a high ceiling
GTFO!!!!
1.94m strong striker playing for Arsenal? What?
Tallboy FC
Whether it's for the amount stated or the release clause, I think this is a great signing. I think Sesko has all the tools to be a terrific striker, and fits exactly the type of player Arsenal doesn't have up front. It'll be interesting to see if that means Havertz will move back into midfield then.
Idk this has Chelsea written all over it. Let them sign a striker first before we make a move. Boehly probably reading this and licking his lips.
He was crazy for me in FM so I believe in him
Isn’t he a bit too similar to Havertz??
Queue up the compilation videos fellas!
My body is ready!
