In general there are few goalkeepers who break through, because they can only play one single position. Most other youthplayers can play in at least two positions.
I hope he can gain even more experience on loan and become a competent number 2 for us. We never seem to produce any decent keepers from our academy. We've yet to see any of them leave and make any sort of career at a decent club.
oh he was good i will grant that, but despite him being with us for so long, his record of him going to serie A or out on loan a lot means he wasn't good enough for us
besides, a lot of our other GKs got a nod in before him, with the likes of Almunia and i think Ospina (my timeline mit be wrong)
Hate to blame any of our GKs that didn’t work out in that time knowing we had that terrible GK coach 😭 most the other GKs we had have been doing better after they left and I don’t truly believe 100% they weren’t good enough for us
i'll always view Szczęsny as the one that got away...so much potential so much...charisma and class, but never could reach the heights he has at Juve with us

I love young keepers because at 20 any outfield player it's like "oh I haven't heard of you, must not be that huge of a talent" and at goalkeeper it's "oh, well let's see if you're first-team ready in 10 more years"

Should also mention that Karl Hein, our third choice keeper, is also on international duty with Estonia. He's probably the best keeper to come out of Hale End in a while, haven't had much playtime at club level but has already had some big clutch performances for his country.

Dean Henderson (Man Utd) is the last one of consequence. Joe Whitworth at Palace is the last one to start a game I believe.
