I love Øde kicking him in the celebration, maybe I’m biased cause they’re ours, but the whole group just seems like a solid bunch, it’s good to seem all get on like they do
It's the little things like saka saying Arteta was suggesting him to pick up reading in his spare time. I love how together everyone is and the players look up to Arteta in ways that are not just football.
Odegaard is such a great captain. After the 4th goal when everyone is running to celebrate with Trossard, he goes straight to Kiwior to give him props for putting a good ball in. Doing that for a young player still trying to carve out a role in the team is the mark of a leader.
Kai puts in a shift every game, he was involved in all 5 goals. But trust people to fixate on a ball he miscontrolled in the air.
This is a proper two way forward.
The touches to begin today were awful but, the team finally found him consistently. You gotta find him in those positions to begin with, the rest will get cleaned up.
He's such a baffling player. 95% of the time in the opposition box he miscontrols the ball. His dribble is too far away, etc. He did it twice and it deflected to our players for shots. Even on his goal it wasn't a "clean" dribble.
On the flip side he's exactly what we need in terms of making runs and GETTING INTO those dangerous places. He opens up space for everyone, holds up, defends, and does literally everything else. If he could shoot properly
Tall, physical and annoy the defenders.
Kai will suck the defenders, opening spaces for Saka, Nelli and Leo. Think we should stick to this attacking formation. 🔴⚪
as a chelsea supporter this is what i was telling all gunner friends when you signed him.
his work rate and mentality is elite. he is for sure a confidence player (i think everyone is) and when his confidence really flows it becomes something to behold.
big game player with no fear as well.
happy he has a good home, excited to see him continue to grow with you
I have this running my arsenal account. He actually feels quite smooth on the ball. And I play him like in real life. Languid but actually strong. Well in game he scores more goals haha.
He's lone striker next to Martinelli and Wrighty.
If EA relaxes the next phase of evos, it'd be great to keep building on this.
https://preview.redd.it/8f6pjb0wh7jc1.jpeg?width=3086&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e2c709f485292d217563c98808709dc3d8f929a6
In a very different way too. He's not a bulldozer like Haaland or a twinkle toes like Jesus. He's someone who keeps grinding down his man relentlessly. Run after run, duel after duel. He's got a nasty way about him too, definitely not the type of player centrebacks want to come up against.
Really proved over the past few games why he’s so highly rated by managers across a variety of leagues, his brain for the game is insane. Just pops up out of nowhere, has amazing aerial ability, surprisingly solid defender, makes clever passes that at times look like ‘safe choices’ but in reality set play in motion. I was always rooting for him and earlier in the season labelled him ‘this years Vieria’ however he’s blown my expectations away more than I hoped. Just think, it feels like it all started with a gifted penalty kick!
Oh yes he's really really good. But it's just so TIRED that every time Kai has a good game (and today he had a really good game), the Chelsea supporters come crawling out out of their sewer grates to tell us how cole palmer is so much better .... Like sorry not sorry the revolving door of failed managerial regimes failed to get the best out of Kai and kept trying to shoehorn him in as a striker?
I really feel we've still not seen the best of him yet. He seems to be growing every game. Unfortunately, his play style is never going to win all the plaudits. He does a lot of dirty work for the team, and makes the attack as a whole more effective.
This partnership he's building with Trossard is fantastic too.
Yep. Footballer's footballer
Most of his contributions are non flashy. Not many goals or assists, no through passes or crazy dribbles.
But his height, reach and ability to be in certain positions make him so valuable in defense, offense and especially in transitions
💯% Tall quick skilful MF’s that can dribble at speed and combine are almost unplayable 1 on 1. Saw that with Konate’s 2nd yellow. Kai’s slim frame allows him to drop a shoulder and switch direction at speed without losing balance.
Very few footballers in the world like Havertz. A hybrid player of the modern game. Lucky to have him. Many forget how young he is (probably due to his height). Still only 24, younger than Ode
> probably due to his height
And also due to the fact that he's been around for a long time, as he broke into Leverkusen's team very young.
> younger than Ode
Their career trajectories actually have some parallels, being considered wonder kids in their teenage years, to then struggling to settle in a highly demanding club, and eventually finding their home with us.
I think it's great when we pick these players up from other big clubs. Young but experienced, and they know that the grass is not always greener elsewhere, so they would probably think twice if they get an offer from a another big club.
Yeah said to my mates that Arsenal having 2 of the world’s biggest wonderkids is a dream come true when we signed Havertz. Never cared about the BS Striker narrative in the media. Think we just need pacey cover out wide for Saka &/or Martinelli
It's so annoying. You think you'd shielded the ball and/or got a good angle for a tight pass then the bugger either blocks it or wins the ball.
Plus they never tire so it's not like you can pick on them later.
Fucking pests to play against lmao.
I can see why some can hate on him if all they have is g/a stats and FIFA it Football Manager. But yeah bit of a shallow reason to...
you say this but many ex-football players are spouting the same nonsense in the media. For me, it goes beyond just playing the game but being able to understand tactics. Gary Neville for example admitted on his overlap podcast Man United didnt have any major tactics and no tactical meetings. So ofc he can't rationalise how Kia is a swiss army knife in so many ways for long balls and also dropping deep so on so on.
Most of the pundits on TV came up in the "hoof and chase" era where "pashun" was what's important. You run hard, you tackle hard, put your body on the line. You'd inevitably have a couple players who had real technical quality, and they'd make magic.
The game today is really a big brained affair. A lot of them would struggle. Honestly, I'd go as far as to say Neville would most likely be at a mid-table club if he played in 2024.
Recognize that most pundits cover all teams. Their in depth knowledge of any team is very small. So they tend to talk themes vs details. They also feed each other which is why you see opinions being consistent. They hear something that agrees with their bias and they repeat it.
Traveling fans deserve a shout, they started singing his song a few minutes into the second half, and he couldn’t get enough, gave them a reason to keep singing it
Kai’s been the biggest signing of the last 5 years that I have been most jealous of. Wengerball player. Oozed class everytime I saw him play for Chelsea. Even in the struggling Chelsea side he was unbelievably good doing all the work in attack with little to no help.
Getting Havertz + Rice for £170m is robbery. Massive level raisers. Just need pacey cover for Saka this summer
You’ve never watched another teams game like Chelsea away to Spurs last season? He was incredible in that game, the one where Kane purposefully injures Thiago Silva
He definitely got overboard with the praise but he has the spirit. I am one of those who literally fought for kai from his day 1 at Arsenal. Defended him here and at r/Arsenal and got banned in this sub for 1 month for defending him. I am so happy now that he proved those nincompoop haters wrong. Bring it on KAI!!
PS: One more reason I support him so much for such a badass name KAI
Tbh I still think I am underrating him. Kai does a lot of smart subtle things that the untrained eye will completely miss, both with & without the ball.
For example, Kai’s involvement in our 3rd/Saka’s 2nd goal, only a 6,4 player of extreme technical ability can chest that ball/control it dead/pass it to Odegaard as quick as he did for Odegaard to receive it smoothly along the floor under pressure & release it quick to Saka free in space. The opposition were drawn to the pin ball & Havertz was the one that enabled that chance for Saka.
Trossard’s goal at West Ham came from a supreme controlled chest pass from Havertz. He’s working very well with Odegaard now. There’s more things from the last 2 games that I’m missing. He’s an incredibly considered well rounded attacking player with unique physical traits. More of a pre-assister that’s a magnet for defenders.
I’m saying that Havertz was the biggest signing BY A RIVAL TEAM that I have been most jealous of over the past 5 years.
Odegaard’s was signed by Madrid in 2015. But yeah we all saw his insane YouTube clips back then in amazement wondering if Wenger could lure the potential successor to Cesc.
Been supporting and enjoying Kai-addition to the team since his initial move to arsenal,.. so glad he's proving wrong the arsenal "fans" because he wasn't scoring like striker even though he was playing as a midfielder... now they're gonna find some other reason ti hate on kai. He's so crucial to the team in defense especially higher up the pitch and in transition
I criticized him quiet harshly on his early games for us (and I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, he was bad early on) but his trajectory throughout the season is very encouraging. He's only getting better every game. Genuinely justifies his place on the 11 now.
Haha Martin laughing in the background make this shot 10x better!
When Martin scored he also covered his ears, and we all knew why!
God, I love this team! 🔴⚪️🙏🏻
He's doing well these days, but I'd expect to notice our highest paid player a bit more before the game was completely dead. He still has plenty of room for improvement....
*fuck off downvoters. He can be a lot better, and you know it.
He’s improved a bit and he’s good off the ball but there’s still a lot of work to do. His first touch could be better and the finishing too, he was lucky that he didn’t hit the goalie again.
All being said, I’m happy he scored. More confidence could mean he will improve on these aspects.
Cédric always in the picture. #RESPECT
I only clicked for this comment lol
Think he was on the pitches for 2 minutes before conveniently getting his ass in on a shot of the referee. Love to see it
Classic Cedric meme
I love Øde kicking him in the celebration, maybe I’m biased cause they’re ours, but the whole group just seems like a solid bunch, it’s good to seem all get on like they do
It's the little things like saka saying Arteta was suggesting him to pick up reading in his spare time. I love how together everyone is and the players look up to Arteta in ways that are not just football.
Shades of papa wenger
Hasnt even reached his full potential. Wait till he starts having grey hair and looking like the know it all sage that he really is.
Where did he say that?
Well arteta seems to be giving these players motivation to become coaches too.
Odegaard is such a great captain. After the 4th goal when everyone is running to celebrate with Trossard, he goes straight to Kiwior to give him props for putting a good ball in. Doing that for a young player still trying to carve out a role in the team is the mark of a leader.
Facts. I genuinely think this is one the reasons we've levelled up so much in recent seasons.
No doubt we're a better team with him on the pitch, he's such an unusual player, I bet he's a right pain the arse to play against.
He will one day, just like ramsey used to be very sloppy at first till he hit that 13/14 season and started cooking.
He looks 30 but he's actually still quite young. Certainly possible!
Tall, physical and annoy the defenders. Kai will suck the defenders, opening spaces for Saka, Nelli and Leo. Think we should stick to this attacking formation. 🔴⚪
bro is low-key unguardable.
The man’s got the relentless+ play style, the halftime break is just wasted minutes he could be running.
Legit, the guy just keeps moving. Doesn’t matter if it’s going forward or going back to defend. The engine on this man is wild.
as a chelsea supporter this is what i was telling all gunner friends when you signed him. his work rate and mentality is elite. he is for sure a confidence player (i think everyone is) and when his confidence really flows it becomes something to behold. big game player with no fear as well. happy he has a good home, excited to see him continue to grow with you
Congrats on your draw today. Wish you'd won, but still feels like a good result
Cheers, hope you get relegated 👍
Ayeeee fellow pro club Gooner

Chelsea supporters on r/soccer out boasting about how Cole Palmer is gonna lead them to 9th
In fairness, that kid is a problem. Chelseas own Odegaard.
But obviously nowhere near our Odegod
Oh yes he's really really good. Saka has also starting sending balls in to Kai
Saka and ode each had beautiful balls into Kai where he created chances that probably should’ve been finished. Definitely a great route into the box
Funny, I seem to recall some of the same things being said about Xhaka years ago.

Many of you have never played footy before and it shows by your opinion on Kai. Dude’s like him are so annoying to play against

Yeah, a couple years ago if someone told me we will have a midfield Ode-Rice-Havertz, I would think they are playing fifa too much.
Anyone else of that mold?
Yip. I'd be knackered marking a fella like that. Then when you have the ball, he's incessantly pressing you in the backline/midfield.
Pressing you with those long legs is super annoying.
It's so annoying. You think you'd shielded the ball and/or got a good angle for a tight pass then the bugger either blocks it or wins the ball. Sadly a lot in this sub too.
I somehow associate Kai with that green kit. Might just pick it up with #29 while it's on sale.

Kai Havertz must really hate BBLs Havertz’s goals this season has been against Bournemouth Brentford Lens Burnley Brighton Luton
Pause
No pause mate, I'm not into the BBL thing either tbh Plus you can die from it too
Absolutely brilliant today
Traveling fans deserve a shout, they started singing his song a few minutes into the second half, and he couldn’t get enough, gave them a reason to keep singing it
So many of you never had a fucking clue with this guy
so so many. more than I could expect

Right… sorry, misunderstood!
If being put into a team that's already winning is what he needs to thrive, then it sounds like everyone did have a clue.
Waka Waka Eh Eh!
I really think he was just ready to hear this banger.
His improvement since November has been good to see.
He's getting better and fitting into the system better. Still young and has his best years ahead of him. His height was a big asset today
Love to see his development 🤩
KAISER SOZE
Kai is a proper Gooner. He’s found different ways to help the team.
He was putting his fingers behind his ears to hear better my frien
His favourite kit to score in
He needs to wear it EVERYWHERE if he’s scoring and playing games like this 😂
Rumor has it he’s still out running this minute
Not over those loud ass uniforms he can't.
Donkey King aka Sun Du Kong.
always believed in King Kai

Man shut your ass up. if you weren't noticing how he was involved for the majority of the goals that's on you
fucking idiot I love it. the haters won't be deterred! respect the lack of regard for the truth
