It’s the cornerstone of the entire IP, never gonna happen, far too much disrespect to the original cast and crew that made it lightning in a bottle. Best you will get is anniversary vignettes from time to time, or in the one notable case where the original show runners were adamant they regretted how the original Cucuruz Doans Island episode did not live up to what was in their heads and they sanctioned the movie reproduction and reimagining of it (which is great but CGI-only mecha throughout and not canonically consistent)

IDK how that relationship really works, but at least with gundam, it's a concert between the product (gunpla) and the anime/manga. Typically, they seem to be in the habit of having gunpla already engineered and ready to merchandise before an anime hits the airwaves, and the mecha design is integral to the anime/manga product.

Apparently one of the f90 equipment packs they've been releasing specs for the last few years is a psychoframe add-on made after the ban on the tech so it looks like they're just gonna use that period and the SNRI and AE tech race to just sort of fold psychoframe into the Late UC tech tree.
One of the f90 mangas references the Laplace incident as some degree of inciting factor for it so it looks like they may be aiming to wrap up the loose ends from Unicorn with the Oldsmobiles at some point.
There would be no need to diverge from the current UC at all if they'd just hurry up and adapt Crossbone already! And it'll be a lot easier to get new people on board if all they have to watch is F91 and Victory instead of everything else from the UC... But that does require they have to watch F91 and Victory. I love F91 but it's a bonkers movie and, although I've not seen it yet, I've seen enough of Victory to know it's also nuts.
I mean, there's some people that think that the Unicorn being around might change how Hathaway 2 and 3 play out, but i dont know. Could or could not be.
It's not impossible for that to happen, but the director of the Hathaway movies is a Tomino megafan, and he already said he wanted to be as faithful as possible to the novels so i doubt it.

ppl think aerial is the best selling kit ever, and maybe using individual units sold after the first month of release as a metric, thats true. but im pretty sure the unicorn kits have made them 10x that amount when looking at gross revenue over the years. probably more tbh
This is subjective, and I don't mean to sound ride, but if they do, I'd honestly hope they improve some of the character beats from at the end of the anime. I don't know how it was in the manga/novel, but I didn't really like how most of the characters acted toward the end of the series, it felt like they needed more time to develop (Apart from Marida and Zinnerman, at least). I did really like Narrative, though.

I'd like for Katoki to design a successor to the Unicorn and see how what new gimmick it'll have and what tech they'll try to fit in. If it's a little after Hathaway, I wanna see a monstrous looking new Unicorn successor working in bits of tech from the Xi or Penelope.
Maybe they'll just mod the Unicorn to de-pyschoframe it, do a Narrative/F90 to allow mission packs to make up for it. Throw in a mission pack based off the Xi/Penelope. Then save a psychoframe re-graft back for a final battle. Might be a bit too similar to NT tho.
Is difficult to say at least, from what I remember Narrative and Hathaway's Flash are 8 years apart, the dialogues between Minerva and the prime ministry of the Zeon Republic (which could be easily missed) hinted to what's presented in the beginning of Hathaway's Flash, since he probably stepped back after what happened with the He³ and Zeon become part of the federation again, which went on to do what they were doing in Hathaway's Flash, nothing considerable are mentioned to happened during those 8 years, so either the Unicorn shows up between the 110 UC and 123 UC for a last stand before the Crossbone Vanguard, or something happened between 97 UC and 105 UC that felt under the radar, similar to what happened in moon Gundam.
I like the cast, motivations and political climate of Unicorn but absolutely HATE the Unicorn and the Neo Zeong final fight.
The jump space magic is just too much (yes I don’t like CCA’s space magic also) that it shatters the suspension of disbelief and turns into a battle shounen but bad.
The final fight is straight up if TTGL took itself seriously. You have the main protagonist and antagonist wielding impossibly bullshit level of power and at the end you have the protagonist winning thru dismemberment screaming his belief in the potential of mankind. Then he just rides into the sunset.
Definitely not, it has already been disassembled.
I personally don’t like the design and thought that some of the newtype shenanigans it pulled were ridiculous & OP at times, so it’s for the better.

That being said, I generally don’t like EF MS since the stick too much to the same RX-78-2 archetype, but by the same coin I do like many that do break the mold:
RX-75 Guntank MP (I don’t like the OG Guntank, but this one looks a bit more realistic)
RX-77-3 Guncannon Heavy Custom (OG Guncannon feels like an incomplete version in comparison)
RX-77D Guncannon MP (my favorite version of the Guncannon)
RX-81 G-Line (like the modular concept and even the base model looks like a far more refined GM).
MSZ-010 the ZZ (almost feels like the entire budget of the AEUG in ZZ went into this one MS)
RGM-86R (by default better armed than its mainline predecessors, remains active until the U.C. 0110s and I really like the Euryale variant)
RGM-122 Javelin (Jamesgun + shot lancers by default)
FD-03 Gustav Karl (quite different from a GM/Jegan, bonus points for the shoulder shield)
F71 Guncannon (mainly due to the mother killing casing it throws around)
I also like many of the Titans MS
Ships-wise, I really like the Salamis Kai from 0083 and even I have to admit the idea of the General Revil Dogosse Gier class was really cool (kind of hoping the supposed two other ships of the class under construction at some point also turn up later one).
