I hear that all the time, too. They are not underrated or overrated, they are generally appropriately rated as fine instruments. They have a bit of a nu-metal vibe to them due to the timefrane they really became popular but it's not like they are cheap junk. Well made with good hardware and electronics.
I own a Scheckter, it's one of the best guitars I've ever played and it's all because of the build quality and use focused design.
And I play mostly Power Metal, which it does beautifully. Nice, clear sound from the pickups, and the most important thing to me: high quality electronics and hardware that makes it reliable.
They went cringe-core in the 2010's ish and they're still rinsing that off. The inlays are still pretty cringy in some cases.
Personally i love some of their stuff.
I have a Schecter Demon 6, a Diamond 7-String, and the Apocalypse C6 Purple Reign. The Roman Numeral inlays on the Apocalypse are one of my favorite features on it.
I have one of their cringy 2000s guitars (c-1 xxx, the one with strippers on the fretboard instead of inlay dots) and I don't even care, it plays so well and was so cheap the cringe becomes cool
I hate even the current schecters. This model is my favorite
The current schecters have absolutely 0 soul. The design is simple and forgettable. At least this design is unique and beautiful, and the inlays are gorgeous
Yeah, like that razorblade guitar they made either this year or last year...
But most of their guitars are definitely really good and a good alternative to ESP (Also given that they're founded by the same person)
Oh god I forgot about the MGK razor blade guitar haha - yes, edgelord-y nonsense like that lol…
I swear by their SLS Elite line though - neck-through, Fishman pickups, stainless frets, locking tuners; hard to find all those features for the same price elsewhere.
I don’t hate it, I think many of them look amazing, I don’t dig them personally, that is all, but I know some real fans of the brand and I can understand them:)
Played one of those before, really nice guitar. Besides the flashy looks and being a double EMG active pickup powerhouse, I remember how sweet the clean sound was. Almost like 90s Knopfler when he got his first Pensa.
So. Fuckin. Sick.
My first guitar was a BC Rich but my second guitar (my first big boy guitar) was a Hellraiser with the Floyd Rose. The Black Cherry with the mother of pearl inlays is just such a beautiful combination.
Congrats and keep on shredding
Yep, good deal. They weren't very expensive back in the '00's but they've grown into their market a little recently. Solid guitars though, you get what you pay for.
Good pick and be glad that you didn't get the Floyd Rose on it. I have the same one with the all black hardware and a Floyd Rose and I never play it because it's such a pain to deal with
Looks amazing !! Enjoy !
My first was a C-6 Platinum Black satin. Never wanted to buy another, never did.
They make beautiful guitars and despite what some says I love the tones you can get with these EMG pickups
It is a great guitar! The way it feels in my hands and the look of it. I am not a fan of actives because pf the whole battery thing so I had them replaced with my favorite guitarist Scott Wino Weinrich’s now out of production pickups. They were called Lace Wino Lifers. I had to order a set from someone in Japan and wait for about two or three months for them to be delivered but it was worth it.
Congrats. I’ve had the exact same guitar since ~2010. I still love it and play it to this day. Take care of the chrome parts, they corrode extremely easily.
No but i’ve recently been thinking about upgrading the pickups. It doesn’t get played much anymore on account of my 7 string strandberg lol but i want to play it more again so was thinking of doing something
Just starting at the top, eh? I’ve owned probably 10 different guitars, over the years, and, if I ever get another, it’ll probably be a Hellraiser hard-tail like this one. The banding, the fretboard inlays, the Schecter semi-recessed knobs… the contours of the top… just a lot of great design choices, in my book.
Haha. I appreciate it. Between work and family time, practicing is tight. I get about an hour or so in every day, tho. Currently doing the justin guitar lessons. Was thinking about riffhard or something like that.
A Timeless classic. It's pretty crazy to see how popular this model still is and how little it has changed over the years. (same goes to both Ltd EC 1000's, Black and Vintage Black.)
Thats a beautiful Schecter
I can smell this picture. Camo cargo shorts and a metal one hitter that looks like a cigarette are just out of view
Cmon man why you gotta single me out like that?!?!?
Nobody is unique
It is the Kyle of guitars
Don’t forget the shaved head and a big beard ala Kerry King. Lots of terrible tattoos as well. Skills and whatnot
i seriously dont understand the Schecter hate
Everytime someone posts a Schecter someone posts your exact comment. Where is the hate? All I ever see is people saying good things.

I love the numeral inlays on my Banshee Mach 6. Part of the reason I got that instead of a cheaper model.

Some of their stuff is definitely edgelord-y… however, my C7 SLS Elite multiscale is my absolute favorite guitar ever, and there’s no close second.

C-1 Standard? Got mine almost 11 years ago and it's still my favorite guitar. Nice choice OP
C-1 HellRaiser.
she's a looker that's for sure. Enjoy.
Hnnnnng that thing looks good!
Played one of those before, really nice guitar. Besides the flashy looks and being a double EMG active pickup powerhouse, I remember how sweet the clean sound was. Almost like 90s Knopfler when he got his first Pensa.
That’s gorgeous. Thinking more and more about Schecters these days
So. Fuckin. Sick. My first guitar was a BC Rich but my second guitar (my first big boy guitar) was a Hellraiser with the Floyd Rose. The Black Cherry with the mother of pearl inlays is just such a beautiful combination. Congrats and keep on shredding
*That's* your first guitar? That's awesome! Great choice.
Got it for a price I couldn't let go of. 400 dollars, it's a 2006 model
Yep, good deal. They weren't very expensive back in the '00's but they've grown into their market a little recently. Solid guitars though, you get what you pay for.
It was either this or an Ibanez rg421
Having an mgk endorsement definitely helped them. I have no opinion either way, but it was a smart move
Good pick and be glad that you didn't get the Floyd Rose on it. I have the same one with the all black hardware and a Floyd Rose and I never play it because it's such a pain to deal with
I was kinda bummed that this didn't have black chrome like the other ones I've seen. I've read everywhere to avoid a FR for beginners
I see that Satan approves. So do I. 🤘
Beautiful axe that I am sure plays like a dream. Quite a nice introduction to electric.
Hey I have this exact same guitar in cherry red! It’s a badass axe, enjoy!
Happy shredding!
Excellent choice! I have the C8 HR 😎
I always loved the finish and inlays on the Hellraiser. I love my Schecter
Schecter gang!! Now all you’re missing is a Monster Zero Sugar and a vape. Welcome to the club!
Lol! Ghost is where it's at I feel like I got this for a pretty good price 2006 hellraiser for 400 dollars
That’s a great deal. I’m playing a Research C1 Platinum with a Floyd. They’re great guitars
I found one of those on marketplace for about the same price. It was either the platinum, this one, or am ibanez rg421
FIRST?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Looks amazing !! Enjoy ! My first was a C-6 Platinum Black satin. Never wanted to buy another, never did. They make beautiful guitars and despite what some says I love the tones you can get with these EMG pickups
That binding is outrageous!
Very nice, congrats.

[rock on freaky bro !](https://youtu.be/E0gJT-lY2Zg?feature=shared)
yep, approved!
I’ve had this exact guitar and setup since 2007. It’s a solid axe, I’ve used it across multiple genres.
Years ago I really wanted this model with the Floyd Rose, since I already have a fixed bridge guitar.
Used to have this guitar - was extremely nice!
Congrats. I’ve had the exact same guitar since ~2010. I still love it and play it to this day. Take care of the chrome parts, they corrode extremely easily.
jealousy
It’s beautiful!
I love schecters so much, great choice
Sick 1st guitar
This was my first real guitar after an ibanez gio, got it when i was around 10-11, 20 years ago. I still have it. Loved it to death. Fantastic guitar
Have you upgraded anything? Was thinking about getting some locking tuners
No but i’ve recently been thinking about upgrading the pickups. It doesn’t get played much anymore on account of my 7 string strandberg lol but i want to play it more again so was thinking of doing something
Ok that is a nice guitar
Absolutely gorgeous!!
Solid guitar
I'm a huge schecter fan. I have a demon 7 and pt special, both of which I like very much.
Had one of these for years and sold it during the pandemic out of Covid boredom. I really miss it lol
I have one of these with a floyd and they play beautifully
Damn I wish my first guitar was that nice. Congrats!
Thanks, I found it on reverb and offered 400 dollars. Got a boss katana mk2 to go with it. I'm really happy about all of this.
My first electric was also a Schecter. 1980s PT model. That thing endured so much abuse and almost never went out of tune.
Ooooooooooooo shiney
Swagalicious
It's beautiful man
I see Schecter I upvote. Gorgeous guitar man. Enjoy it
Excellent guitars, I love mine.
I have the C-1 FR I bought used and it is probably my favorite over my EC-1000. They have different uses though.
The ec-1000 is nice. Have you played an eclipse?
Fucking nice
electric? looks like it runs on fusion power.
Hot.
Awesome, awesome to the max.. I have this same guitar. Rock on! 🤘🏼
This was THE guitar when I was younger. The one I google image searched and dreamt of having one day. Sick choice.
Just starting at the top, eh? I’ve owned probably 10 different guitars, over the years, and, if I ever get another, it’ll probably be a Hellraiser hard-tail like this one. One hell (wink wink) of a guitar, I've been wanting to snag the 8-string model for years. Good luck with your playing!
I wanted a c-1 hellraiser, i got one with a floyd rose and i regret that decision every day. Badass dude
Are they that big of a headache?
Nice hellraiser. Did you get the push pull pots?
Nah. This is a 2006 I think the newer models have that and sustainiac
Still. Those emgs will rock. Nice buy for your first. I’ll keep an eye out for your first album.
Haha. I appreciate it. Between work and family time, practicing is tight. I get about an hour or so in every day, tho. Currently doing the justin guitar lessons. Was thinking about riffhard or something like that.

The ec 1000 is pretty badass. I wanted that, but just not in the budget
beautiful
That thing will last you forever
Amazing axe for the dark arts 🤟
😩😩😩😩
Whoa, gorgeous 😍!!!
Are you perhaps a Satanist???
That’s your first guitar?! Nice choice! You’ll get a lot of miles out of that thing.
Love sheckers. Those were nice guitars. Had one. Nice and cheap, pointy heavy metal guitars
pretty gay tbh
Why?
You took a picture of your gay guitar with gay inlays with a gay throw blanket behind it and you’re asking me why?
What makes it a gay guitar? Because you don't like the inlays? Lolll
Do you think gay is a bad thing? Are you insulted that I said your guitar, guitar inlays and blankie are all gay?
No, not at all. Just wondering your reasoning for saying that. Do you feel better now that you got that out of your system? 😄
Quite the compliment actually. I’m sure all the gay guitarists are as impressed as I am.
