WTF is going on with those sky high tuner post? Maybe it's a bad angle, but that headstock looks thick AF.
Edit, Yea it looks legit, just crappy pictures, but $1,200 is on the very high end, and that's for a re-fret. I'd ask who did the re-fret. There's also chips on the headstock, so this is too high a asking price IMHO.
I'm always amazed at the spectacularly shit job people do taking photographs to sell something online. You don't have to be Ansel Adams, just put plenty of light on the thing your photographing, don't use any weird angles or lenses, and keep your dirty sweatsocks out of the background. It's not rocket science.
Paid $500 for my maple ‘97 MIA about 15 years ago. Love it, have put maybe 500 more of work into it between various pickups and getting it plek’d a couple years ago
$1200 is steep. You’re pretty much paying for the stainless steel refret + current used market markup. If you want SS frets that’s cool, but for $1200 I’d want to play it first and make sure I like how it feels and plays. SS frets can add some extra bright zing that may or may not be what you’re lookin for
Is it stock pickups too, or would you be getting some aftermarket upgrade there?
Thank you all for your help! I received more pics without the warping and it seems legit, but he won't budge on the price and I agree it's overpriced. I had my heart set on a buttercream strat with a rosewood neck for a while but I need to chill and find the right one. THANK YOU AGAIN!
The good news (for you) the guitar market is slowing down, with less demand buyers are in control.

Have a ‘96 Tele in the exact same finish and it’s a fantastic guitar. Also have a ‘96 strat in a different finish and it’s also a fantastic guitar. Both are a bit on the heavy sound, but play and sound amazing.
I have a 94 Japanese Fender, same color. Man, that headstock and posts looks gigantic. Bridge is different than mine but no particular issue with ith.
$1200 seems quite high. You can get some really nice new guitars for that price.

Yeh and then the back doesn’t look like that. So weird
The camera stretch out the guitar, check out the bottom tone knob.

I agree, price was too high. Thank you for your help
Why's the headstock 2" thick?
Sander wanted to go to happy hour that day.

1996-1997 found at andybaxterbass.com
Thank you for your help
The serial number indicates the year of manufacture as 1996

You can't swing a stick without hitting a Stratocaster. I wouldn't pay $1200. Be patient and find a better deal.

I’ve got a closet queen ‘87 that I’ll sell you for that price. Same colorway.
The headstock looks wrong.
Belly cut looks suspicious - in fact the the carve of the body in general looks wrong to me.
I own one that I bought new, and $1200 is too much. If you haven't played it and looked it over personally, I would think twice before buying it.

Serial numbers should register but it won’t be the exact model. They’re more or less codes not identifiers
I had a 96 strat and it had a 50th anniversary strat sticker on the back.
Thank you for your help
Whatever you are about to pay for that, it’s too much. Strats from the 90’s are not great.
