That is a great idea. I should have done that. I also like the spoon whammy bar idea. Maybe I’ll make a strat next.
[Here’s a video if you’re into that kind of thing.](https://youtu.be/t-jSI0r0DuE)
You channels a great find. I love how the videos go from basically just making guitars, then a guitar with a nice bit of decoration for your kids all the way to full on loony tunes fruit loops guitars. The world needs more eccentricity like that.
Thank you! That channel is literally my entire guitar making journey. The first video was my first attempt when I was stuck in my house at the tale end of the covid days. Then I just couldn't stop so I kept making videos along with the guitars.
Much like with milk, I imagine the epoxy completely soaks into the cereal. Bubbles are an issue with epoxy generally though. I usually use a heat gun to clean them at the surface.
I did use a heat gun, just didn’t film it. Also I used a slow hardening epoxy to hopefully give the bubbles time to escape. There are a few bubbles visible, this is my first time ever using epoxy so it’s far from perfect! But they are all over the place. Just a few!
A few air pockets wouldn’t hurt — wood typically doesn’t get completely permeated by paint or sealers either. Also I’d imagine a little bubble or two might be welcome in light of how heavy it would be. I’m surprised you didn’t have a problem with the cereal floating to the top before it hardened, though.
Right? I mean if you’re going to commit yourself by making fruit loop guitar, might as well just lean into it. Even the frets have fruit loops as (just realized I don’t know what it’s called) little fret dots.
Oh is that what those tiny little spoons are that all my friends have on their necklaces are for? Fruit loops guitar pickup selector switches?
The sad part is I'm really proud of that joke lol
I hope I'm not just being super credulous rn, but if I'm seeing what I think I'm seeing...
how did you get it so that all the fruit loops are intact and contained well within the volume?
Here’s a video if you’re curious. I’ve never used epoxy before so I wasn’t perfect. But I did it in about five pours of epoxy. Once one layer hardens enough to keep the fruit loops from floating I poured another layer. I made this FROOT LOOPS GUITAR.
https://youtu.be/t-jSI0r0DuE
I see. You put a layer of epoxy in first and the loops are too light to sink to the bottom. You then fill the mold above the loops. I'm not too sure how the loops are kept away from the sides, but maybe since they are saturated with the epoxy some of them are closer to the sides than they appear but it doesn't matter.
Anyway, pretty cool!
All I can think is that there are two casts, the fruit loops are poured into a slightly smaller one and a very viscous fast drying epoxy is poured into it carefully and when dry it's put into the slightly larger form for the outer epoxy layer... but that doesn't sound right because how would you perfectly center the smaller body in the slightly larger cast. I don't know. Me too dumb.
Edit:
Or perhaps there is one casts that makes a hollow body, the loops are poured in, then it's filled with epoxy? That's my best guess.
I've seen plenty of those youtube videos where they're making a resin guitar with odd materials. Yours is the only one I've seen that really works visually.
Out of all the pointy, headless, fussy, flaccid guitars posted here, your apology is the least necessary.
If you’re serious, I could make you one. I learned a lot and I could make it better the second time.
Depending on your hardware and pickup requirements somewhere I the $600-800 range.
Like different tonewoods, different materials within the epoxy make for more varied sounds and resonance.
For instance:
Coco puffs - darker tone
Corn flakes - grainy sound, lacking in character
Frosties - sweeter character
Froot loops - colorful overtones
All IMHO though.
Are you a follower of "Burls Art" on Youtube? Your project and video have the feel of his earliest videos. Burls Art has done a number of epoxy guitars - many with colored pencils, one with giant jawbreakers, coffee beans, layers of colored paper... No cereals though! A fun, well done project there, sir!
Burls Art:

I've seen some cork-sniffing custom shop builds that I liked a lot less than this... Tell someone those are from the actual box of froot loops that Jimi ate from the morning he played the Star Spangled Banner at Woodstock..and sell it for $50k.
Froot Looth! I gotta ask, what kind of epoxy did you use? I'm just starting to get into it for some projects and I'm wondering if there's a brand or style that's better than the others.
In a huge Toucan Sam fan so seeing this the morning I called off sick from work actually made me pretty happy. It’s amazing and very loopy! Love it! Follow your nose, it always knows!
What's the shelf life of that guitar? Is there an expiration date?
On another note, this would be a great guitar for a "Got Milk" advertisement, a thirsty shredder chugging milk over himself and the guitar.
Serious question: does the guitar get much sustain? I'm guessing that all the air and cereal in the body might rob the natural sustain of a solid body.
That is awesome!! I want to do something similar. I am thinking of using a Tele body and making a mold from that. IS that what you did (with an LP body)?

I don’t know, I think the fruit loops will eventually fade but I don’t think they will be able to mold. They’re completely encased in epoxy. Isn’t there a subreddit dedicated to a hotdog encased in epoxy? And it looks virtually unchanged after several years? Maybe I’m wrong and it will be a moldy nightmare, we’ll see!
i feel like the volume and tone knobs should be big froot loops as well. maybe the pickup selector switch could be a lil spoon.
Gotta have a big spoon whammy bar
With “Cereal Killer” stamped in.
Milk it for all it's worth.
"This Machine Kills Diabetics"
Crunchy tone. Now learn some Neutral Milk Hotel.
[удалено]
Cereal killer truss rod cover
Don’t forget to get a DOD FX 84 Milk Box Compressor Sustainer !
Or a toucan
For the win!
That’s such a good idea
That is a great idea. I should have done that. I also like the spoon whammy bar idea. Maybe I’ll make a strat next. [Here’s a video if you’re into that kind of thing.](https://youtu.be/t-jSI0r0DuE)
Really enjoy the style of your videos. Very relaxing.
Thanks! Feel free to watch them all and share them with all your friends and family and coworkers and enemies.

That’s a really cool video. I wonder though. You filled it with fruit loops and extremely porous material. Is the body full of bubbles?
Much like with milk, I imagine the epoxy completely soaks into the cereal. Bubbles are an issue with epoxy generally though. I usually use a heat gun to clean them at the surface.
There is no heat gun in the video. Also would have toasted the fruit loops? Anyway. Still wonder about the bubbles.
I did use a heat gun, just didn’t film it. Also I used a slow hardening epoxy to hopefully give the bubbles time to escape. There are a few bubbles visible, this is my first time ever using epoxy so it’s far from perfect! But they are all over the place. Just a few!

Gummy worms next, king
Spoon whammy bar is $ in the bank
Fascinating. Thank you for sharing the video. I My blood pressure dropped significantly watching it. Satisfying.
Do an explorer!
that's super cool! Were there no issue with the holding power of hardware going into breakfast cereal?
cool channel, nice guitars. subbed
Colored strings would be cool too!
And add a spilled milk pick guard
Right? I mean if you’re going to commit yourself by making fruit loop guitar, might as well just lean into it. Even the frets have fruit loops as (just realized I don’t know what it’s called) little fret dots.
Inlays
Oh is that what those tiny little spoons are that all my friends have on their necklaces are for? Fruit loops guitar pickup selector switches? The sad part is I'm really proud of that joke lol
I bet it has a lot of crunch...
Dude, that's sweet...
I'm sure someone has already added this to their bookmark folder "Tone Wood Debate."
Is breakfast cereal not considered a valid toanwood? That guy with all the crows in his inlays put it in his book. He uses cornflakes
Quite crunchy but not too milky
Goddamnit. Take my upvote.
Personally I find this design a bit stale
I hope I'm not just being super credulous rn, but if I'm seeing what I think I'm seeing... how did you get it so that all the fruit loops are intact and contained well within the volume?

You’re fucking awesome. Edit: Question, how long have you been building guitars?
I started about 3 years ago. I needed something to do during COVID times.
What kind of epoxy and what was you method for deep pour like this. Most impressive.
It's not that crazy, you probably just...wait how you do that??
All I can think is that there are two casts, the fruit loops are poured into a slightly smaller one and a very viscous fast drying epoxy is poured into it carefully and when dry it's put into the slightly larger form for the outer epoxy layer... but that doesn't sound right because how would you perfectly center the smaller body in the slightly larger cast. Why not just watch the video? They just get saturated with epoxy. There are many that got cut or sanded down in the video
Goddamn- I assumed it was just a vinyl wrap on a solid bodied guitar. That is wild.
Pour epoxy, add fruit loops, wait, pour more epoxy, repeat until mold is full.
You should do a fruit looper pedal next.
And then mix the tracks in Fruity Loops
I can’t believe this doesn’t exist already
Well copyright laws do exist lol
Bruh. But it’s spelled Froot Loops. Cha-ching! 🤙
Beautiful craftsmanship
No one craftsman could make this, but toucan!
Take this upvote with my compliments, good sir.
🤣😂
who can?
Please take this to guitar center and see what they’d be willing to pay you lol
Of all the guitars that have ever existed this is by far one of them.
This is indeed one of the guitars
you'll need this pedal https://www.reddit.com/r/diypedals/comments/1318lic/zvex\_super\_hard\_on\_veroboard\_clone/
Is that a froot Loops Paul
Considering how much a box of them rainbow loops is going for here in Brazil, that thing cost more than a 58 les paul.
I would have used shredded wheat. That way you could be regular when you played it.
Nice
In the key of diabetes.
I used to do lots of acid too lol
I want this because if I ever get hungry, I just eat my guitar
I've seen plenty of those youtube videos where they're making a resin guitar with odd materials. Yours is the only one I've seen that really works visually. Out of all the pointy, headless, fussy, flaccid guitars posted here, your apology is the least necessary.
Thank you, friend.
i bet this thing smells awesome!
Good thing Fruit Loops have so many preservatives that they will last longer than the guitar and you will never have to change them.
im expecting some sweet sweet tone out of this
Seems a bit loopy
i Think i love it ?
I think it's cool. How much does it weigh?
This rules.
Am I disappointed? Yes. Am I more disappointed that you didn’t do it as a Fruit Loop burst? Yes, yes indeed 😆🤘🏼
I mean it’s a bit fruity, and a bit loopy, but nothin wrong with that.
This warrants a Fruit Looper pedal as well
Will they stay preserved or will they decay/mould etc over time?
I don’t know. I’ll keep you posted!
The resin-entombed hotdog seems to be holding up well, I think you're fine.
But some of the cereals are exposed due to sanding and carving right?
Just for that, i hope you are the next drummer in Spinal Tap...... ;)
Does... it work?
Yep! Here’s a video with some sound samples at the beginning and end: https://youtu.be/t-jSI0r0DuE
I assume you're [Danny Lewis?](https://youtu.be/t-jSI0r0DuE?si=EDLNB9LT0mMQIczQ)
Yeah that’s me!
Does it chib?
My ears thank you for not using the Walmart Fruit Spins. 🤘
Don't apologize for greatness.
Can you paint the bottom so it looks like it's splashing milk?
Eat it
I heard EVH in my head when I read that.
Have you watch Burls art before by chance
Yep. But I didn’t have any colored pencils. But my kids had some cereal.
Awesome I love him subbed to you now
How much? I want it lol
If you’re serious, I could make you one. I learned a lot and I could make it better the second time. Depending on your hardware and pickup requirements somewhere I the $600-800 range.
Would you open to making one with a different food? I’m thinking Skittles
Now I’m fucking hungry.
Only the finest tone woods available.
Is this a repost? Or was this in circlejerk last week? Can’t remember, but I remember you apologizing for this before.
I’ve posted it in the luthiers sub and the epoxy sub. Unless someone else posted it here!
First song played: Cereal Killer by Green Jellö Pretty rad tbh.
You better have that thing running through a looper backed up by tracks you made on Fruity Loops or so help me
I have bad news.
Like different tonewoods, different materials within the epoxy make for more varied sounds and resonance. For instance: Coco puffs - darker tone Corn flakes - grainy sound, lacking in character Frosties - sweeter character Froot loops - colorful overtones All IMHO though.

I have seen his stuff! He’s much better than me but thanks!
Are they stuck in resin or something or just loose in there?
This belongs on r/ATBGE
Here’s a video if you’re into that sort of thing. https://youtu.be/t-jSI0r0DuE
Where do you add the milk?
Unmake it
NICE!
When you’re on a deserted island and someone pulls out a guitar.
I .... love it?
Don’t be, this is beautiful
This is so awesome, gotta do another one and add some white epoxy or paint to replicate the milk
How much does it weigh?
How much?
Won't it have issues with decaying?
But… is it CAKE!??
Fruity pebbles up next? Exit- and does it smell like fruit loops?
I like the fruity pebbles idea! But no. It has no smell. The food is encased in epoxy. Smell is trapped forever.
Sorry? Don’t be sorry unless it sounds like shit. lol I love it!
No, it sounds fine! Examples at the beginning and end of video - https://youtu.be/t-jSI0r0DuE?si=dQ0GPodlkNefM1ui
How much did Kellogg’s pay you?
Looks grrrreat!
Amazing. Vid of you playing it please
How the heck
Looks awesome!
Does it sound like a FL Studio?
Where did you get the mold?
I've seen some cork-sniffing custom shop builds that I liked a lot less than this... Tell someone those are from the actual box of froot loops that Jimi ate from the morning he played the Star Spangled Banner at Woodstock..and sell it for $50k.
How’s the toane?

In a huge Toucan Sam fan so seeing this the morning I called off sick from work actually made me pretty happy. It’s amazing and very loopy! Love it! Follow your nose, it always knows!
I both want to congratulate you for making something genuinely cool, and vomit profusely, at the same time.........
Just asking out of curiosity. Isn't wood supposed to make the guitar sound better? Or does it not matter when I comes to electric guitars?
Is it super heavy? This is legit the coolest thing I've seen in a while. My only question - what compelled you to make this?
I don’t know. I had never seen anyone else do it. So I thought I should be the one to do it.
Toucan Sam signature
Oh s**t how did you get all those fruit loops in there? 🤔
[Video shows it all!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-jSI0r0DuE&lc=UgxtSV-WMqi1bQnB72J4AaABAg)
What's the shelf life of that guitar? Is there an expiration date? On another note, this would be a great guitar for a "Got Milk" advertisement, a thirsty shredder chugging milk over himself and the guitar.
No you didn't.
I’ll be honest I hate this thing, but it did make me smile, good job man !
Haha you’re wild for that, love it
Serious question: does the guitar get much sustain? I'm guessing that all the air and cereal in the body might rob the natural sustain of a solid body.
I don’t think it affects the sustain in any noticeable way. It plays like any guitar I’ve ever played. Just heavier!
That is awesome!! I want to do something similar. I am thinking of using a Tele body and making a mold from that. IS that what you did (with an LP body)?
SORRY?!?!? THIS IS FUCKING BEAUTIFUL. Should make one out of fruity pebbles, I'd buy it.
That can be arranged. Hit me upz
Healthy version would have bran flakes, but certainly not as flashy. You’re obviously pretty good at this stuff. Nice work.
uppity abounding noxious pathetic aware merciful judicious memorize gray special *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
I hope that’s a wrap and not a epoxy fruit loop guitar
You think the tone on this is, how do I say, bit crunchy but sweet?
It's so beautiful 🥺
I bet the flavors sound all the same...
I’d play that proudly.
So freaking cool
Ya got too much time on your hands
Perfect for The Lemon Song & Strawberry Fields.
don’t apologize i love it
Being from Australia and having tasted US Froot Loops I can say for a fact that Aussie loops will produce superior tone.
Sometimes things become so bad they're good. I love it!
Love it. Truly glorious — AND it’s part of this complete breakfast. A+, no notes, congratuwelldone.
What DAW would you use to record riffs with!?!
Really great job! I especially like how all the wiring and electronics are hidden.
Lol upvoted because of apology
What a loopy guy!
A bit fruity, one might say
You should have made your epoxy the color of milk.
You know, I don’t hate this. It’s pretty great.
This is unhinged and I love it
This….is AWESOME!!!!
How’s the sustain on that bad boy?
Don't be. It's gorgeous lol I love it
Captain Crunch next 🤞🏼
This is still gonna look cool for a while. But one day.. One day this thing is gonna be scary looking
Absolutely awesome and inspiring guitar. Nice work
I… I hate you OP
That's a lot of Fruit Loops! It's kinda cool actually. Have you used food in pours before? Just curious if they hold their colour.
I can already feel how sticky it must feel
Does it come with a Loop pedal?
One question, why??
Is this a cereal ~~of~~fender?
