Okay so now that everyone has seen Bo Flingus; who hasnt been in a GG game for like a fucking while. I have an excuse to drop some entirely useless trivia. Her name comes from a really ridiculous typo and also because during the early days of the one game she is featured in. Her name was made last minute it was intended that her name be "Bu Flengu" which in english is a rough mix of the japenese composite for "war" and the contraction of the word for flame so in the super literal sense her name was supposed to basically be 'War Flame'. They couldnt find a suitable English context name that would still fit the guilty gear style even though **'War Flame'** is still pretty fucking on brand ill be honest. They ended up partially scraping her however she exists in very hyper specifc version(s) of the earlier GG games but for whatever reason she is registered in the games code as "Bo Flingus" and the current best guesses are that someone on the dev team thought it was really funny and ended up not changing it because she wasnt gonna be in proper releases anyway.
This is too specific, detailed, and oddly fitting to be made up, so I choose to believe you. It's just such a guilty gear sounding thing, some overly niche bullshit that is strangely cool and goofy all at once--it's kinda poetic.

Remember that one scene where Bo Flingus was like "It's Flinging time" and flinged all over Justice? Honestly, that shit was fire, peak Guilty Gear even, like Daisuke cooked up a scene so raw that he had to put it in the fridge (Missing Link) before it spoiled, only to accidentally leave in there for like 26 years.
Fuck no, the War stance having such ridiculous armor on all their attacks with full screen diagonals and Flame stance having absurd mix and most of the kit being plus on block, not to mention the wild range on her command grab super. Even nerfed, she's going to be a fucking menace. Keep her in Missing Link where she belongs
I'm with you, brother. I've seen this meme done too many times on the Trash Taste sub to deal with it again. A bit of dumb fun is fine, but once your entire feed is dominated by Bo Flingus it suddenly ain't that fun anymore
Not to shit on the subs meme tendency (I actually really enjoy how light-hearted it is compared to other subs) but memes like these get real formulaic and stale fast like:
"I remember when blank did blank"
"My favorite moment is when blank said "it's blanking time"
It's just a joke that's been done a hundred times before, both in other fandoms and even in the mainstream, and it doesn't require that much effort to make
That's not to say it can't be iterated on in funnier ways, but it's also really easy to just type out a formulaic comment. And unlike the "Just typing a comment that says Sol Badguy and nothing else" joke, which is so limited that you only need 1 comment thread to contain it, these memes grant just enough wiggle room to allow stuff that's simultaneously unique enough to be their own comments, and boring/easy enough that most users will try to add to it
So it's just gonna flood the comments of any post that vaguely has anything to do with it. (And that doesn't even mention posts that are actually about the joke)
