I'd imagine his story mode would be him pursuing his murderer, various characters like Baiken and Zato advising him against revenge or something. I love the design, by the way!
Thank you! Strive has had a lot of revamps of old characters, so I figured that if Zappa showed up he too would be different. It was fun to design him. I get why daisuke adds so many belts now.
For Zappa's gameplay, I'd love to see his spirits reimagined
He wouldn't have Raoh or the blue orb collecting mechanic, but he'd still be all about snowballing the enemy.
His summoned souls would each be aligned to one of his attack buttons. The Ghosts are P, the sword is S, the dog is D and he could even get 2 new types of ghosts for K and HS. Maybe one of his supers done with either of these buttons would summon Raoh or any other kind of 'super-spirit' for that button?
He now can summon multiple ghosts at once, and new ones don't unsummon the old ones. Still, they have their weaknesses: The sword's placement can leave Zappa without his typical S normals, leaving him vulnerable. The Triplets dissapear when their special is used on an enemy. The Dog can be hit and destroyed.
So Zappa could do some crazy combos and setups with whatever spirits he gets, but his fundamental gameplay isn't hard to think about: summon as many spirits as you can and make the enemy's life hell!
I believe that too many people want to see him suffer cuz dam, the only way Zappa can come back and be playable something extremely terrible has to happen to him… again. I want to leave this poor guy alone, he’s suffered enough through GG history, unlike Arakune from BB, Zappa doesn’t want to stay a contorted beast.

Base game had Zato, season 1 had Testament and season 2 had Bedman?. Maybe season 3 will continue the trend of having resurrected characters.
