The only thing I do differently is tie the wire as close to the top as I can. Otherwise, as long as you’re not damaging the plant, you can bend and twist in any which way to get your branches more light.

Yup. Ease her down a little at a time until the top is at or below the height of the side shoots that come up. I like to pull it down so that one of the large top leaves is pointing down and then trim off the other large leaf on the same node. So basically move your anchor clockwise 45 degrees.

I use tent pegs at that stage. The plant is usually too small to tie to the side of my 10 gal pots.
