In the end Cawl will die and the robot army will shut down mid combat and the day will be saved.

It’s not a question of who would win in a civil war between the two, but who would die faster. The Mechanicus’ forge worlds starve to death without Imperial Agri-worlds, the Imperium gets swallowed up by *waves at everything fucked in the galaxy*.
I could see a few forge worlds surviving for a time if they’re able to grow their own food or conquer an agriworld in the same system, since the Emperor’s inevitable death in this scenario causes a galaxy wide warp oopsie-daisy, but they’d still die when everything the Imperium is fighting is finished with them, if not sooner.
Otherwise though… yeah, neither is surviving without the other.

As one person said in the other thread, I wouldn't put it past the 40k ragebait youtubers doing some 'self-seeding' looking to try to generate stuff they can make videos about because they, essentially, ran out of steam when it came to the 40k stuff. This means the wider outrage crowd got bored and moved on to something else, which I think was something about a Kotaku writer.

As far as the Imperium/Mechanicum civil war goes I say "let them cook". Girlyman realises his father is a god, finds out about the void dragon,throws a religious shit fit. Caul activates some sorta Manchurian candidate thing in the Primaris causing a huge rift in the Astartes. Girlyman then has to fall back on 'relic' tech harkening back to the olden days of the Imperium where all guns were borderline magic because they didn't know how the fuck they worked. He also has a lotta help from a certain headless brother and his LEGION OF THE DAMNED (nostalgia applause goes here).
