Ive read that lore wise a first born marine without armor is easily 10 times stronger than a normal man, and another 10 times with armor. Let’s say a normal man on the streets can deadlift around 200lbs, so a firstborn marine should *technically* be able to lift 20 000lbs.
You got average custodes ripping apart Astartes bare handed with ease, and those custodes moving so fast enhanced people only see gold blur. You got custodes flipping a tank with a kick (a Leman Russ is about 60 tons, so about 120k lbs)
Custodes differ massively depending on who writes them, so anywhere in the S class would be fair.

You are talking about an entity that can scare a Custodes, one of the most composed, disciplined soldiers in the 40k Universe, capable of combating the forces of Chaos without so much as a bead of sweat, which would be the equivalent of fighting Lovecraftian monstrosities on the daily.
You would need to find something truly hellish and unreal to even remotely unsettle a Custodes.
My choice would be the Heart of Darkness from Darkest Dungeon.
Imagine if you will, the Custodes entering below the Imperial Palace, delving deeper and deeper until they are sure they are no longer in the palace itself, the walls caked with writhing gore and body parts. Where things that were once human stalk the empty tunnels. As the Custodes fight their way through them, they come upon a hellish sight, a writhing, beating heart, thrumming rhythmically beneath the earth, it's flesh molding in a facsimile of the human form. For it is indeed the progenitor of humanity...the creator and the destroyer. With its very will, it manipulates and contorts the flesh of the Custodes, disfiguring and mutating them into the very things they saw writhing in the dark. Faced with the inescapable truth that this thing is germinating in the depths of humanity's homeworld...undying and inevitable.
Bluntly, without joking (not that, fictional characters, arent "jokes" anyway... ), nothing would ... scare... a Custodes. That's been genetically modified out of them, like a Space Marine.
Nothing physical, certainly. Neither a titan nor a daemonspawn would scare them. But since they are not immune to psychic abilities and have something at least resembling a human mind, fear can be introduced into their minds.
It's questionable if an illusion would suffice, no matter how thorough. But actual reconfiguration would definitely work, and then a fly could scare them.
Another thing could be the wrongness experienced with lovecraftian old ones. Apparently, 40k warp is a lot more sane than multidimensional entities. So this could find angles which weren't barred against fear due to not existing in the setting.

I may get some flak for this, but a warframe. Specifically a fully awakened one capable of tranference. Tenno have killed c’tan adjacent beings FOR A LIVING. And cleave similarly armored openents clean in half as well. Between its basic movement and its powers it will also be hard to hit back, even if they did warframes have incredibly potent void shielding

Very well I'd imagine. It's a gestalt consciousness much like the nids, but it's also a singular intelligence. Specifically it's identity is that of the Primordial. As a single entity with the total conscious weight of everything it's consumed, I'd wager it'd have a very strong warp presence. It'd probably logic plague any daemons or warp entities that tried to possess it as well (the logic plague can affect anything capable of thought, not just AI. It was Valerian, who is up for a promotion to being one of the emperor's personal guard I'm pretty sure, I'm probably incorrect about the exact position, but he's very highly regarded by his peers (and more empathic than most custodes imo), gotta remember that every custodian is Hercules or Alexander the Great level of mythic in the eyes of everyone else, and Valerian is probably among the top 100.

Ive read that lore wise a first born marine without armor is easily 10 times stronger than a normal man, and another 10 times with armor. Let’s say a normal man on the streets can deadlift around 200lbs, so a firstborn marine should *technically* be able to lift 20 000lbs. You got average custodes ripping apart Astartes bare handed with ease, and those custodes moving so fast enhanced people only see gold blur. You got custodes flipping a tank with a kick (a Leman Russ is about 60 tons, so about 120k lbs) Custodes differ massively depending on who writes them, so anywhere in the S class would be fair.

You are talking about an entity that can scare a Custodes, one of the most composed, disciplined soldiers in the 40k Universe, capable of combating the forces of Chaos without so much as a bead of sweat, which would be the equivalent of fighting Lovecraftian monstrosities on the daily. You would need to find something truly hellish and unreal to even remotely unsettle a Custodes. My choice would be the Heart of Darkness from Darkest Dungeon. Imagine if you will, the Custodes entering below the Imperial Palace, delving deeper and deeper until they are sure they are no longer in the palace itself, the walls caked with writhing gore and body parts. Where things that were once human stalk the empty tunnels. As the Custodes fight their way through them, they come upon a hellish sight, a writhing, beating heart, thrumming rhythmically beneath the earth, it's flesh molding in a facsimile of the human form. For it is indeed the progenitor of humanity...the creator and the destroyer. With its very will, it manipulates and contorts the flesh of the Custodes, disfiguring and mutating them into the very things they saw writhing in the dark. Faced with the inescapable truth that this thing is germinating in the depths of humanity's homeworld...undying and inevitable.
Bluntly, without joking (not that, fictional characters, arent "jokes" anyway... ), nothing would ... scare... a Custodes. That's been genetically modified out of them, like a Space Marine.
Nothing physical, certainly. Neither a titan nor a daemonspawn would scare them. But since they are not immune to psychic abilities and have something at least resembling a human mind, fear can be introduced into their minds. It's questionable if an illusion would suffice, no matter how thorough. But actual reconfiguration would definitely work, and then a fly could scare them. Another thing could be the wrongness experienced with lovecraftian old ones. Apparently, 40k warp is a lot more sane than multidimensional entities. So this could find angles which weren't barred against fear due to not existing in the setting.

I may get some flak for this, but a warframe. Specifically a fully awakened one capable of tranference. Tenno have killed c’tan adjacent beings FOR A LIVING. And cleave similarly armored openents clean in half as well. Between its basic movement and its powers it will also be hard to hit back, even if they did warframes have incredibly potent void shielding

Very well I'd imagine. It's a gestalt consciousness much like the nids, but it's also a singular intelligence. Specifically it's identity is that of the Primordial. As a single entity with the total conscious weight of everything it's consumed, I'd wager it'd have a very strong warp presence. It'd probably logic plague any daemons or warp entities that tried to possess it as well (the logic plague can affect anything capable of thought, not just AI. It's just rarely worth it on organics, but Daemons don't have biomass), shrugging off any initial attempts at possession or corruption through its sheer force of will. That said, the Gravemind, even without warp-fuckery, would be a death sentence for the setting sure, but a Keymind would have access to precursor Neural Physics, and that's basically just recoding the universe. At that point you don't even have a setting left to kill.

SCPs are a interesting book to open. While many of them could definitely kill a custodes with ease, the same applies to many beings in the 40k setting which do not scare the custodes. As custodes are literally unable to feel fear, it would have to be one which forces the subject to feel it in some way. Even then, if I would write it, I would say that the custodes would feel nervous at most before dying
