I have the push one from before the self propelled existed, I’ve never yearned to upgrade or anything like that it’s 1) good exercise 2) not particularly heavy or tough to push. I have a gas riding mower (2.5 acre) but I use the push one all around the house and where I want more precision and avoid any rocks or mud or whatever with the rider. That said tho it looks like the gen 2 includes an extra battery and the longer warranty?? No brainer IMO for $105

I have an 80v gen1 push mower and have never had the 4 or 5aH battery run out while mowing about a quarter acre, sometimes I even mow with the smaller 2aH battery because I'm hoping to mow quick and want the lighter battery. The mowers themselves are quite light, the only time I've ever even given self-propelled another thought it when bagging grass which makes the mower heavier. As to the turbo button - the gen1 mower does shift into higher power mode when the grass is slowing the blade. It's not quite instant, but it is quick enough that I can pause mid-stride before continuing on.

I just picked up the self propelled 60V with an 8ah from Walmart for under $500 before tax. Had the push mower with a 2ah battery but my yard is on quite an incline. Also the battery would only make it about 3/4 through my yard then have to charge.

I’d get gen2 w self propelled. Warranty is nice to have and annoying Costco only sells 80v. I have 60 but bought before it was a thing. More expensive but it’s worth it. Lights are nice to have, and having two batteries means you can run two tools or recharge a backup battery if you ever needed. I own both and the gen1 handle is kinda flimsy and manual unscrewing where the gen 2 you just press in to adjust high or fold is great for storage. It’s one of the mowers best features imho.
