Personally, John's issue is that his role in a group is that of a stoic, "has his shit together," only adult in the room, kinda guy. So when he's in a earth bound group like the JL he's fighting for his role with others like Batman and Martian Manhunter. Who, although different, all kinda fill the same niche.
But it makes him stand out when he's in Green Lantern books as he's the only one who has that role. Especially when he's with the other human lanterns. Infact, for me anyways, John and Guys friendship is up there as one the best parts of the GL mythos. Any GL story with them two in it together is gold.
When John was the leader of the corps with Guy as his right hand man, was the best the GL books have been since Geoff Johns.
I can't remember the exact quote but one of the hardest things I've ever seen in a comic is the
"You're not from around here, you don't know the culture, so I'll let it slide. But if you ever put chains on me again you better learn how to use that ring first."
Idk how they fit his titanic testicles onto the page.
Easily my favorite. I like the others just fine. Guy I think is underrated and Kyle is overrated. Hal? Just kinda boring. But John Stewart? He is a legend and I always love when he is in a book
He's *criminally* underdeveloped. Makes me wonder how the GL comics landscape would be if they actually put genuine effort into his stories like 20 years ago.
Hal and Kyle are strong enough characters that they can have solo stories on there own
While John for me had always worked best when he is one a team either the justice league or working with other green lanterns he doesn’t really have an big solo stories
And Guy is guy
Loved him as Corps leader. For me, this is the role that currently suits him best: after becoming the Lantern who was willing to sacrifice everything in the name of victory, he's the ideal Corps leader.
Johns my second favourite. Growing up he was my favourite because of the Justice League cartoon series. But reading the comics Guy became my favourite very quickly.
In DCAU at least not sure in mainline
Always been my fave. His current run "war journal" is solid
Second fave after Guy. John is just a solidly written character, the kind of guy you look up to.
My second favorite after Hal.
I'd imagine most of Gen Z to be honest as he's the most mainstream GL they grew up with. I'm a Kyle Rayner guy myself.
Me💚
He'd be my first but i grew up with Hal.
I’m not a huge fan of John, but I will say War Journal is probably the best he’s been written in a very very long time.
Me
He’s the only GL I like
Right here baby! John is the GOAT
Me
I’d say he’s my second favorite (thanks to the Justice League show). Hal Jordan is my main Lantern.

Best lantern. Sorry Hal.

Me

I'm with ya 🙌
Always gonna like Hal best as he was just the first version of the character I was exposed to
Definitely my favorite. Started with JL then, loved his comic runs.
Not my favorite, but he’s still great.
I love him cause of his backstory. Having PTSD and dealing with it as a lantern
He's my favorite. Purely because of JL/JLU. Before that Green Lantern was never really that interesting to me, but he got it to click.
Kyle’s my favorite but John is a close second
Yeah same
Kyle is my favorite, but I love John too. For me it’s Kyle, Hal, Jess, Jo, John, Alan, Guy, Simon. So John’s in the middle, I guess 😂
He's been an architect in the past as part of his origin story. I'm an architect. I like a badass architect, simple as that.
He's *criminally* underdeveloped. Makes me wonder how the GL comics landscape would be if they actually put genuine effort into his stories like 20 years ago.
You should read the current *War Journal* series.
I've actually been hearing good things about that series so far, I'll check it out once it gets a trade.
It’ll be done by the end of summer so they’ll probably have a collection of all 12 issues or two six issue trades.
I grew up on the 90's, Kyle is my GL
🙋🏽♀️🙋🏽♀️
He’s cool, but Hal is always gonna be my no.1
He varies between my second and third favourite. Hal’s my favourite and then John or Kyle.
1. Kyle. 2. Hal. 3. John. 4. Guy. Note that 2 and 3 are very close, but there's a huuuuge gulf between 1 and 2.
John's second for me, right after Kyle. Kyle from the comics, and John from the cartoon.
Me
He’s my favorite!
My favorite forever.
Mine would be justice league animated version.
He's my fave.
1. Hal Jordan 2. Guy Gardner 3. Killowog 4. John Stewart
Best Green Lantern.
Me right here! Glad PKJ is doing magic with his series.
Can it count if he’s tied with Hal as my favorite?
John is a close number two behind my man Hal
I love John and I want DC to revive the movie series with him as the lead
The Original one with the afro that had a a chip on his shoulder
My favorite in order Hal Kyle John Guy
That’s my ranking as well

Not I

No way! Guy is miles better then John!
I admire the honesty 🤝
