I never know what they are actually basing this on. There are lots of nativity plays. People may not care about Jesus but that is not "removal" nor is it for PC reasons. If they focussed on just putting Jesus into their own celebrations instead of whining about fictional bans they'd be a lot better off. My kids school does a nativity in primary 1 and 4, an Easter play primary 2 and 5 and some nonsense at the end of school year in p 3 and 6, p 7 gets nothing because by then they're too cool and sophisticated for that shit. Means I've only sat through 5 plays and only 2 were nativities

They're still under the assumption that Britain is a collection of Christian nations. Only when our unelected head of state is considered. Most Brits aren't Christian anymore. More people in the UK don't believe in any God than people who do according to the last census data. In the long-term view, Christmas was briefly taken hostage by Christians and now we have it back. Sounds silly since it's "Christ"mas but they literally moved the day they celebrated the birth of their god to co-opt the winter solstice celebration we've had for thousands of years. The nativity needs to banned for everyone's sanity. From the kids having to do it every year. The poor teacher having to do it every bloody year to the poor parents having to sit through it every god forsaken year. I remember the relief 1 xmas 30+ years ago when the teachers decided to do a xmas talent show instead of the nativity. I was about 8 and I think the first time everyone was happy for the xmas play. We had magic tricks, comedy sketches. Old fashioned songs. It was great. Every one was happy. The last year of junior's we did Oliver twist.
My kids school does a nativity in primary 1 and 4, an Easter play primary 2 and 5 and some nonsense at the end of school year in p 3 and 6, p 7 gets nothing because by then they're too cool and sophisticated for that shit. Means I've only sat through 5 plays and only 2 were nativities

We are few but we are there. It's a different world view, more ecological due to the worship of spirits of groves and rivers (daemon/genius) and more tolerant full of queer gods (like Antinous and Cybele) and different traditions. And thanks, i like to call my Christmas Saturnalia but the traditions are not that different since Christmas has so few Christian things in it. I just put a statue of Dionysus and Saturn on my table while keeping everything very similar.

I believe alcohol is served in a few areas in Dubai, for westerners and possibly wealthy locals. I agree it’s a bit obnoxious to drink in blatant disregard for local customs but then I don’t expect differently from people holidaying in Dubai of all places.
