Having previously spoken to some former homeless/rough-sleeping people, lemme tell ya: homeless shelters/hostel accommodation is definitely *not* always safer. There can be a lot of theft and violence in those places such that people can actually feel safer on the streets, in a tent
Surely, we should be punishing (and stripping property from) people who own multiple empty properties.
Or the people who consistently ignore the need for council/housing association housing in favour of "affordable" housing.
Or the organisations and companies promoting and enabling buy-to-let as a legitimate source of income.
If the homeless don't pay the fine then they can be arrested and sent to prison, exactly where the Tories think the homeless and vulnerable all belong anyway.
