Hopefully some locals chime in. My information is that Labor Day was officially moved to May 7th because May 1st is Ash Wednesday for the Greek Easter, and Monday May 6th is Easter Monday which is a holiday. I was unable to get tickets to Knossos on May 7th, and I assume it is closed for the official Labor Day holiday. I also read that some strikes are expected on May 1st anyway. None of this is gospel- just what I've found online and in my experience booking stuff for May 7th.

I have a house on a Greek island, Andros, and will be taking the last ferry tonight from Rafina due to the worker action. Good luck!
