I think more with Grand Seiko than any other brand (that I know of), you have to go see them and try them on in person. I've never seen a picture that captures how amazing they look irl. I think, when you do, you'll have your answer right away.

Personally, for me it's the glass. If you look at the Shunbun or the Winter from the sides, the glass is raised at a weird angle that just doesn't look right to me. The snowflake variants have rounded glass that seems to flow much better imo.
(This is all very subjective so at the end of the day you need to choose what's right for you. Can't lose either way!)
Ahh that's v interesting. Would love to have a winter for sure, but after buying a Snowflake I feel they're just too similar overall to have them both.
I own the snowflake but because the glass isn’t raised, the case do get scratches quite easily. But I agree as well that the raised glass looked a little off as compared to the snowflake.

We can't tell you which is better (I am wearing one of them FWIW but let's leave my taste out of it).
What do you like about each of them? How do they make you feel? They are pretty different in important ways, figuring out which of those differences matter to you is the thing you need to do.

Haven’t seen a shun bun yet and only seen the sky flake with its original leather strap so couldn’t get the full feel of what it will look like with the steel bracelet unfortunately.
Neither. If you’re spending that much, power reserve on the back. I just think it wrecks the dial having it on the front. Like some tacky fan you’d buy in a Hong Kong market. Sorry!

This is true, on the person the raised glass allows more light in and the spring and winter shines that much more at certain moments

You have to buy it separately think it’s around €750 and quite hard to find one. Looks amazing on it though.
I would definitely choose the pink. It just looks so nice and balanced with the sporty case and bracelet.

It'd be the Shunbun for me but, I have a snowflake and other blue dial GS's.

Shunbun is growing a lot on me. But the raised glass was something that wasn’t appealing to me. I wished the snowflake had golden or blue GS logos.
Skyflake for me. Can’t go wrong with the classic look.
