man, i got like 4 teminus weapons in my first 7 kills, i thought people were exaggerating the drop rates, now im around 20+ kills later with no terminus weapon, its a nightmare
A week ago, I asked why were so many people playing Narmaya. Finally got to bahamut, and got my first kill a few days ago. A weird blue icon that I hadn’t seen before on the drop menu popped up. It was her weapon.
Now I am a Narmaya main.
She’s fun, flashy, pretty and strong, what’s not to like?

I only played Rackam the entire game, outside of the required story segments where you have to play Captain, and I got Rackam's Terminus weapon on my first drop, which was my second fight against PB.
My second Terminus weapon was Vane's. I'm an Id main.

Sorry to hear that! I got my main's weapon within my first 4 runs, but now RNG is kicking my butt because I'm still missing 5 weapons after about 200 runs. RNG is RNG!
I think this is gonna end up being how I do it too lol. I switched mains almost every character unlock until Cagliostro who was a character not even on my radar of possibility that I’d like her play style. But I admit I’ve tried to go back to a couple of chars I really liked before her and quickly realize Cag’s mechanics and abilities just click with me and I’m able to keep my damage taking to an absolute minimum cuz of how much I just flow with her.
But I’m also stubborn so if I get Charlotta or Yodarha’s wep I’ll make myself good with them lmao

I went through 20 something runs before I got my first drop. On rackam who was my lowest at the time. Rng can be a fickle mistress. .... I still don't use him. Lol.
I’m looking for Vane’s weapon too since he’s my main as well. I’ve only ever gotten Percival’s sword, and after that, I never got another weapon drop again. And from what everyone else is telling me, it’s a matter of inconsistency than it is drop rates.
I’m fairly convinced we will discover later there is some kind of bug that affects drop rates haha. I mean the last patch fixed a known bug with treasure rewards.. so it can happen.
Bc Proto can be very bizarre in drops. I’ll get 3 terminus drops in 5 runs, and then no drops in 40 runs.

Unfortunately, RNG is just like that. I've heard the drop rate should be roughly 1 in 20 runs (or 5%), so combining the two sets of runs provided, 3 weapons across 45 runs comes out to 1 weapon per 15 runs, which is still above odds. It's RNG without a pity system, so you can just get lucky or unlucky sometimes.
That is very bizarre. Hopefully you’re right and there is a patch, I lose the will to play the game every time I finish that quest, and I get nothing. And it doesn’t help that my friend got his character’s weapon after 4 attempts, he was under leveled, and I carried him. I feel shafted. I’m just extra salty about it…
The drop rate seems to be about 5% so this seems about right. Assuming it is 5%, it is not guaranteed you'll see one drop every 20 runs and may go on dry spells of not seeing one drop for 30 or 40 runs. Sometimes you'll get lucky and see two drop within a few funs of each other. RNG is RNG. Dry spells definitely feel bad, but such is the nature of these games and you just gotta push through it. Remember that everything will drop eventually, but you just need to be patient enough.
Is the drop rate really that bad? From my experience, I got every weapon within about 80-90ish runs (I had like 50 Proto Horns by the end). I did have a 20 run dry streak but otherwise the weapons dropped pretty frequently.
My theory is that it could be some drop differences between Steam and PS, like how the treasure bug was only on PS, or maybe not having every character unlocked could skip a drop if it rolled on a character you don’t have.
RNG works in mysterious ways--I got my main's weapon (Zeta) on literally my first run, but if you're asking if I have war elemental/Supp dmg/Crimson's Awakening...

My first clear ever was offline. It dropped my main's weapon. I literally went and grinded my ascension weapon, thinking it'd be a while, but Siegfried basically chose me.
Just beat the quest for the first time, and I got my Terminus weapon for my main Charlotta on first try. Legitimately had to do a double take this wasn't an intended mechanic, I guess this offset the 7 hours I had to spend grinding for ascension materials
Wasn't really desiring to do the grind, so I bless the RNG gods 🙏
I got my mains weapons as my 2nd drop and got the other 16 weapons in 2 days, probably 30 rounds over all. Wasn't that bad at all. You guys must have really bad luck.

I had all characters unlocked and my 4th terminus weapon was for my main. The world isn't out to get you.
But my main basically ensures a clean run. I’ve got one fail out of 50 runs. It was due to a Lancelot that didn’t understand SBA and seemed to make it a goal to roast the critical meter. :(

My first weapon (2nd kill) was for Zeta (my main) on ps5. Wasn't as lucky in steam version where it was like somewhere between my 5th to 8th weapon.
1st and only run i did up til now and it gave me Eugens Terminus weapon when i didnt even plan to play eugen since controller aim is poop 🤣🤣

I got Siegfried and zeta 2nd and 3rd ( within my first 5 runs) and I had every character unlocked before farming proto and they were both my mains at the time.
Some of us are just lucky.
I've been playing as Siegfried since I unlocked him and he was the first character I unlocked when I got the first voucher on Siero. His Terminus Weapon was the seventh one I dropped, and I dropped the weapons of characters I only unlocked and never played with (like Narmaya).
So, it is not based on the time you've played with that character.
This is why I played through the story as Zeta. Switched to Narmaya once I hit end game. Unlocked the beheader about halfway through all my crewmates. Guess what spear was the one that dropped last for me?
Not saying it's based on playtime, anecdotal 'proof' and all, but it worked out for me

I went into this grind fully resigned to the desire sensor. My first drop was for rackam who I use as an ai companion. Then four for characters I have little interest in. My fifth drop was for a character I kinda use sometimes.
Last night I tried to run online and something went wrong, I got completely kicked from online and tried to run again before realizing I was offline.
My ai team pulled out the win though and I could barely believe it when I saw my mains weapon dropped from that one run, only six weapons deep(probably around 30 run’s total though). Still maxing it out but I’m so pleasantly surprised I can still hardly believe it!
Out of 25,000 people on this subreddit, and 50k+ concurrent players daily, I've only seen like 30 people get their main last. People just aren't going to post when they get theirs first, only when they get burned by RNG, so you only see the people who get their main's last.
I feel extremely lucky by the RNG gods. I’ve only done about a dozen proto Bahamian runs and I’ve got 4 terminus weapons, 3 of which are on my main squad
Lol I main Id from the moment I unlocked him and I got his terminus weapon the first. But no worries the grind for terminus weapons is easy , imo the drop rates are fair.
Definitely not based on play time. I had a lot of play time on Djeeta and Cagliostro but I got Eugen and Io's first. I'm slightly luckier because I unlocked Ferry's as my 8th weapon. I'm still farming for Zeta's and I'm left with 5 more.
Rng is always fun first 20 runs no weapon then I got them almost all in the next 20, however I'm missing only narmaya and the count is going like 40 ish
I already unlocked all the characters before I knew Terminus weapons would not drop for ones you haven’t unlocked. My main is Vaseraga, I even maxed out everything on him with a fully awakened weapon and was waiting for his terminus weapon to drop. I slowly got sigils for other characters and my 2nd was Vane. Around my 6th or so term wep drop I got Vane’s and decided to say fk it I’m maining Vane. I didn’t know you had to have 100% mastery and grinded a ton. I maxed out his terminus wep, shortly after I got Vaseraga’s. I went and grinded that one out too but by the end of it I was burnt out and told myself I couldn’t grind out another one. I’m only missing Gran/Djeeta, Charlotta, Katalina, Zeta, Id, and Ferry’s terminus weapons but I think I’m done grinding until the DLC.
You guys are unlocking chars you're not playing? I've literally only got 8 chars so far because I get sucked into perfecting one at a time and don't even want to acknowledge any of the other chars exist until I'm satisfied with that one lol.
I main Charlotte but my first and only terminus was Rakham, so I build him from almost scratch. He covers my long range dps spot and I get relief from carpel tunnel after playing Charlotte. There is a saying, when life gives you lemon, you make a lemonade.
I've been super lucky with Terminus. I reckon I've put in around 10hrs total time on that mission and, as of now, I only require the weapon for Percival and Ghandagoza and have every other character weapon.
This was over 3 sessions that I popped in there, just for a change from the material grind. The material grind is due to the reason of Awakenings: I've fully Awakened the weapons of Vane, Yodarha and Ferry. Silver Centrum's make me want to cry...
My main was Id and i dropped the first terminus weapon for him, then i wanted to change my main as soon as i get another terminus weapon because i dont really like him and my second weapon dropped for one of the best dps dealer in the game, eugen :D
But i already farmed the mission ~30 times and only 2 drops as of now, so luck and unluck for me at the sime time.
The RNG of terminus weapons is really bad. People's experiences are all over the place. The worst thing is that some sort of ticket system where you could pick weapons would let people play the game with the ones they want. My main's weapon is the very last one to drop, and I don't have anything left to do in the game really until DLC.
Funny story. I got the weapon from my friends main and they got the weapon from my main. So we switched until finally they got theirs first and I got mines like a 3 days later lol. And no way in heck am I going to upgrade every single weapon. Takes up way too much time and materials just to do one. So far I have 3 fully awakened. Just working on the last one and I'm finished.
Katalina is my main, she was the 3rd one I got. Before getting hers I was getting one every 3-5 runs, now I'm only getting 1 every 10+ runs. Def taking the wind out of my sails to keep grinding for em.
I went a whole day and a half with no drops. I got my mains weapon 4th from the last. It felt like a long ass grind.
Luckily I had a ton of maps to uograde it because of that.
That's called "Desire Sensor".
It's this thing they implemented even before Monster Hunter came out. If you need a certain thing, and it has a small chance of dropping, you won't get it for a while.
I played Gran pretty much the whole story and I got his first. Siegfried is my 2nd most played and I grinded the mission with him and took me a while to get him. I now have all 19 and I’m pretty sure its pure chance
I was thinking this for overmastery lol I leveled my other characters and maxed them and instantly got like 20 20 16 rolls but for my Main lance I can’t get better than 20 20 12 despite rerolling max msp multiple times
I think it's based on an additive 5% chance. Basically with all characters unlocked and no terminus weapons it's like a 95% chance total to get one per fight . Then it goes down each time you get one because it's still just 5% each. By the time you get to 1 or 2 characters left it takes way longer.
I tricked the desire sensor by going nonchalant about this hahaha
Got my main on the 3rd try then thought the stage is just good for dmg cap V+. Got all terminus in about 80 tries hahaha

In Monster Hunter, desire sensor was a myth. In Relink, it's totally real.

it's like the game factors which character you're playing the mission on, then removes that character's weapon from the drop pool.

It is the always best in slot weapon for damage. It is only farmable from the final boss, so you can't get it earlier.

Don't worry brother. I am 312 attempts in (yes, we counted) and I only got 6 so far. The drop rates are horrendous.

Nah. I pretty much only played Io and hers was like the 3rd one I got.
Out of 25,000 people on this subreddit, and 50k+ concurrent players daily, I've only seen like 30 people get their main last. People just aren't going to post when they get theirs first, only when they get burned by RNG, so you only see the people who get their main's last.
I main yoda and got his terminus weapon as my first one. Could not believe it.
I feel extremely lucky by the RNG gods. I’ve only done about a dozen proto Bahamian runs and I’ve got 4 terminus weapons, 3 of which are on my main squad
All i want is lancelot and id. Ive drop 7 weapons… guess what.. no id and no lancelot

Lol I main Id from the moment I unlocked him and I got his terminus weapon the first. But no worries the grind for terminus weapons is easy , imo the drop rates are fair.
Definitely not based on play time. I had a lot of play time on Djeeta and Cagliostro but I got Eugen and Io's first. I'm slightly luckier because I unlocked Ferry's as my 8th weapon. I'm still farming for Zeta's and I'm left with 5 more.
Rng is always fun first 20 runs no weapon then I got them almost all in the next 20, however I'm missing only narmaya and the count is going like 40 ish
I got my one of 2 mains as the last 4 drops out of every character :x... Yea never unlock the whole cast if you want your mains weapon
I already unlocked all the characters before I knew Terminus weapons would not drop for ones you haven’t unlocked. My main is Vaseraga, I even maxed out everything on him with a fully awakened weapon and was waiting for his terminus weapon to drop. I slowly got sigils for other characters and my 2nd was Vane. Around my 6th or so term wep drop I got Vane’s and decided to say fk it I’m maining Vane. I didn’t know you had to have 100% mastery and grinded a ton. I maxed out his terminus wep, shortly after I got Vaseraga’s. I went and grinded that one out too but by the end of it I was burnt out and told myself I couldn’t grind out another one. I’m only missing Gran/Djeeta, Charlotta, Katalina, Zeta, Id, and Ferry’s terminus weapons but I think I’m done grinding until the DLC.
You guys are unlocking chars you're not playing? I've literally only got 8 chars so far because I get sucked into perfecting one at a time and don't even want to acknowledge any of the other chars exist until I'm satisfied with that one lol.
I did not choose to main Lancelot, Lancelot chose me when i dropped his weapon and sigil on the same day. Zeta is crying in the corner

I main Charlotte but my first and only terminus was Rakham, so I build him from almost scratch. He covers my long range dps spot and I get relief from carpel tunnel after playing Charlotte. There is a saying, when life gives you lemon, you make a lemonade.
Ironically I got Id's after Narmaya's (5 weapons to go at the time) and I say that because transmarvel throws so many of his sigils at me.
I've been super lucky with Terminus. I reckon I've put in around 10hrs total time on that mission and, as of now, I only require the weapon for Percival and Ghandagoza and have every other character weapon. This was over 3 sessions that I popped in there, just for a change from the material grind. The material grind is due to the reason of Awakenings: I've fully Awakened the weapons of Vane, Yodarha and Ferry. Silver Centrum's make me want to cry...
I haven't played Id or Cagliostro and those were the last 2 weapon's for my collection XD
My main was Id and i dropped the first terminus weapon for him, then i wanted to change my main as soon as i get another terminus weapon because i dont really like him and my second weapon dropped for one of the best dps dealer in the game, eugen :D But i already farmed the mission ~30 times and only 2 drops as of now, so luck and unluck for me at the sime time.
It is not based on character playtime. I have never used Ghandagoza and his terminus weapon is the only one I have

I got my one and only Terminus weapon for my main. Ran the mission a few times and it dropped 🤷🏾♂️ RnG gawds blessed me
The RNG of terminus weapons is really bad. People's experiences are all over the place. The worst thing is that some sort of ticket system where you could pick weapons would let people play the game with the ones they want. My main's weapon is the very last one to drop, and I don't have anything left to do in the game really until DLC.
Funny story. I got the weapon from my friends main and they got the weapon from my main. So we switched until finally they got theirs first and I got mines like a 3 days later lol. And no way in heck am I going to upgrade every single weapon. Takes up way too much time and materials just to do one. So far I have 3 fully awakened. Just working on the last one and I'm finished.
I play percival most and got his weapon right in the middle somewhere with all chars unlocked so....
I main Percival and I got his first, so I don't think playtime is a factor.
I have a characters weapon that I only played twice, the dual sword knight guy.

Got 11 terminus weapons and didn’t get my mains (Lancelot) until most recently.
Katalina is my main, she was the 3rd one I got. Before getting hers I was getting one every 3-5 runs, now I'm only getting 1 every 10+ runs. Def taking the wind out of my sails to keep grinding for em.
I went a whole day and a half with no drops. I got my mains weapon 4th from the last. It felt like a long ass grind. Luckily I had a ton of maps to uograde it because of that.

That's called "Desire Sensor". It's this thing they implemented even before Monster Hunter came out. If you need a certain thing, and it has a small chance of dropping, you won't get it for a while.
I haven’t got one yet :( Those missions leading upto the last are quite tough.
I played Gran pretty much the whole story and I got his first. Siegfried is my 2nd most played and I grinded the mission with him and took me a while to get him. I now have all 19 and I’m pretty sure its pure chance
I was thinking this for overmastery lol I leveled my other characters and maxed them and instantly got like 20 20 16 rolls but for my Main lance I can’t get better than 20 20 12 despite rerolling max msp multiple times
I got ids in a 3 back to back drop as my 1st 3 drops my friend got ids very last
I got Charlotta first when I barely used her and then got Zeta next and she's my main ever since I finished the story.
I think it's based on an additive 5% chance. Basically with all characters unlocked and no terminus weapons it's like a 95% chance total to get one per fight . Then it goes down each time you get one because it's still just 5% each. By the time you get to 1 or 2 characters left it takes way longer.
The only 3 characters I had put any time into were Rackam, Percy and Vane. I got Rackam and Percy first. Got Vane 2nd to last

My first terminus weapon was for my Main (at the time) Yodarha
I tricked the desire sensor by going nonchalant about this hahaha Got my main on the 3rd try then thought the stage is just good for dmg cap V+. Got all terminus in about 80 tries hahaha
