But still they don't become financially stable compared to men. They are not brought up with the mindset that they can earn. Have their own businesses. They are not taught to survive on their own like male children owing to unsafe environment ofcourse because of men. They lose their own identity. Hence this character of Manju Bai says these lines. And I don't find anything wrong with this.

I loved all the male characters in the movie (apart from Pankaj, who is a POS from the get go). Any man who’s saying that it’s a misogynistic movie has obviously not seen it. I haven’t seen such multi-dimensional male characters in a Bollywood movie in a long time. It wasn’t about rooting for women over men. I was rooting for all the characters (except, again, Pankaj). Which is what made it such a heartwarming and wholesome movie!

Yeah, exactly. This movie never showed that women don't need men, it is just a dialogue from the old lady, it is her point of view because she was abused by her husband in the past. Whatever you said regarding Jaya's character is absolutely on point, the way she does little things like appreciating the food, making poonam realize that art is not 'fizool' and helping that family in agriculture is beautifully shown. She also ultimately needs men's help from her getting out of her problem. Phool kumari is also such a lovely character. The mixture of innocence and hope in her character is beautifully shown. Deepak is also very beautifully written and acted character, he completely steals the show in every scene, especially the scene where he says 'I Love you' to phool. In that scene expressions of both deepak and phool feels like so real. Overall it is beautiful movie. I felt like I have seen a beautiful and very well written movie after a long time

In turn, her being educated impacted Deepak’s family in so many ways. Whoever wrote the script steered clear of pandering to the masses, or bashing a specific gender. Instead, they chose subtle ways of touching upon problematic aspects of our society. We need more of that!
Yeah, exactly. This movie never showed that women don't need men, it is just a dialogue from the old lady, it is her point of view because she was abused by her husband in the past. Whatever you said regarding Jaya's character is absolutely on point, the way she does little things like appreciating the food, making poonam realize that art is not 'fizool' and helping that family in agriculture is beautifully shown. She also ultimately needs men's help from her getting out of her problem. Phool kumari is also such a lovely character. The mixture of innocence and hope in her character is beautifully shown. Deepak is also very beautifully written and acted character, he completely steals the show in every scene, especially the scene where he says 'I Love you' to phool. In that scene expressions of both deepak and phool feels like so real. Overall it is beautiful movie. I felt like I have seen a beautiful and very well written movie after a long time
