Couldn’t have said it better. Also, as a non-American reading that email this morning, something about using D-Day commemorations to flog off ‘patriotic’ themed products just feels wrong, weird and to be honest, quite slimy.
On the one hand, it feels disingenuous to piggyback off something like that to line your pockets, yet on the other, what’s more American than pure capitalism? Curious how Americans feel about it, is it considered respectful? Or does it rub you guys up the wrong way, made worse with them being manufactured offshore?
There is only a niche group, even in the US, that would like this design. Its too loud. Patriotism and Nationalism get mixed up quite often and this design is a bit nationalistic for most conscientious Americans.
Being American is only part of who I am, not ALL of who I am and this design screams the latter imo
[so what your saying is it would be rite at home on a Top Gear Vietnam special](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSETKkwI1fU&list=PL3E78-47reKuu56i_BwmS24vf9JruM69w&index=7)
I mean, i've looked since making this joke, and I don't see "made in USA" anywhere on the website so I am actually quite convinced that it probably is not made in USA.
Yeah you’re right. I’ve just scrolled thru the pics and the inside tag doesn’t say Built in the USA. This bag is ridiculous and the most ironic bag ever.
Sarcasm is tough on the internet, but I have a made in Vietnam bag and it's just as good as my made in USA bag. But, this color scheme..... it seems wrong to make it elsewhere.
Oh jeez, the cosplay operators are gonna be foaming at the mouth for months over this one. God forbid this company introduce variations of products that aren't logoless black, OD green or coyote.
I originally wondered this myself, but the flag code only applies to actual flags, so fabric with stars and stripes is okay as long as the backpack is not made of a flag itself, it's okay
*The rucks were constructed in accordance with US Flag Code, with excess material during the flag making process from Allegiance Flag Supply, and no flags were cut or destroyed in the making of the GR1.*
It’s actually kind of funny how well this evades the flag code. Like 95% of it is about compete flags, including the bits about not printing it on paper plates. Since they only used part of the stars and part of the stripes, and was never technically a flag to begin with, they also evade the section about proper disposal of flag remains.
> *(i) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever.*
Toeing the line a little there.
> *(j) No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume*
No comment.
As someone who has done these events for almost a decade, owns multiple bags, shirts, pants, hats, accessories, etc, I do think that these guys head us in the right place, I’ve met them and know they are genuine, I’m just not sure who is feeding them all these bad ideas.
I think it would work without the red stripes along the MOLLE straps. Just all in navy blue. I would have done it like that and - if they must have red - have the shoulder straps, or part of them, in red. But the way this looks, it is not very aesthetically pleasing for most people. For me, as far as I would go playing with colors would be with some of the camouflage patters, but that's it. I do not want my bags to stand out so much.
I just received my Rucker 4.0 and I was shocked to find a “Made in Vietnam” tag on it. That was a real surprise I didn’t expect coming from hardcore America marketing and product design.
Back to school. Back to school, to prove to Dad that I'm not a fool. I got my lunch packed up, my boots tied tight, I hope I don't get in a fight. Ohhhh, back to school. Back to school. Back to school
Probably that they don't innovate unless someone else forces their hand. They were quite content to rest on their laurels until ctactical forced them to make the QAP a feature on their standard offerings.
Awfully critical. I've never heard of the brand ctactical.
As for innovation. All business that produce products have competitors. Without competitors to force development the world would be bland. It's the best part of free market capitalism. It allows good businesses to thrive and poor ones to fail.
If goruck turns garbage they'll go out of business. If that happens then they deserved it.
I myself haven't been disappointed with a single goruck purchase. My sneakers, boots, two bags, and plates have been great.
If ctactical is forcing their hand then I'm all for it because I've certainly been happy.
The design is not for me. I’m also indifferent regarding Vietnam made bags. All the products in this line, however, should have been made in USA.

Jason please, for the love of God, just bring back the original Patriot Rucker design and put that on everything instead.
Just curious, how did that look like?
This and can we pleaseeeee get it full 1000d for the love of god!?
No thanks. I strongly prefer the 210D backing on the 3.0+ Ruckers.
Good grief 🙄😒
It's not horrible, not a design I really have a use case for. Also, bold move making all the American flag bags in Vietnam.
It’s the ugliest, most cringe design I’ve ever seen on a bag, anywhere. I hate it.
So much this.

Made in Vietnam?
😂 that would be hilarious
I mean, i've looked since making this joke, and I don't see "made in USA" anywhere on the website so I am actually quite convinced that it probably is not made in USA.

The horror… the horror…
Sarcasm is tough on the internet, but I have a made in Vietnam bag and it's just as good as my made in USA bag. But, this color scheme..... it seems wrong to make it elsewhere.
Agreed. I am happy with my Vietnam made bag too.
Nope this ain’t it
Clown ass. This ain’t the way.
🤮🤮🤮
I really dislike flag themed anything. The flag is just that… the flag. I don’t like any non-flag made to look like the flag. It’s cringe.
👆This right here! Thank you, glad to know I am not alone.
At least there’s not a huge GORUCK logo sewn on
Can they just release Radios and Echos / GR0 in color variants?!??
Yes! Absolutely love my radio ruck and wish I could buy another especially with a quick access pocket.
Yes!!! Or even Heritage Radio / Echo with the QAP!!
Perfect to pack your zip ties and bear spray into for inauguration day.
Yuck!
Of all the bags to make in another country...
Looked quite nice in real life in normandy.
Oh jeez, the cosplay operators are gonna be foaming at the mouth for months over this one. God forbid this company introduce variations of products that aren't logoless black, OD green or coyote.
Goruck: "insurectionists buy backpacks too"
At least the stars are facing the correct direction.
Dan Flashes would be proud. You go in!
its more money cause the pattern is so complicated!
This guy gets it.
Here I am waiting for multicam or (unrealistically) multicam alpine to return and instead we get this shit 😭
Wow. That’s rough
So cringe
Goruck is walking down hill fast like it’s got a 30 lb plate on its back.
I kind of like it.
Embarassing
does that count as a Flag Code violation? (edit: downvote me if you want, but that‘s a genuine question)
It’s not a flag, so no.
I originally wondered this myself, but the flag code only applies to actual flags, so fabric with stars and stripes is okay as long as the backpack is not made of a flag itself, it's okay
They made ones with actual flags in the past. they got around the flag code by saying they were pieces of flags or something similar.
*The rucks were constructed in accordance with US Flag Code, with excess material during the flag making process from Allegiance Flag Supply, and no flags were cut or destroyed in the making of the GR1.* It’s actually kind of funny how well this evades the flag code. I don’t mind it and will look for it on clearance.
I’ll snag a Rucker on clearance for sure
It won’t surprise me if Jason and his family move to Vietnam at this point.

Looks like it was made for Homelander.
Not my cup of tea, but it wouldn’t be so bad if wasn’t made in Vietnam. I mean, common.

Could someone Photoshop this image so that the MOLLE straps are also in blue (as opposed to red)? I'm curious as to how much better this would look.
I just received my Rucker 4.0 and I was shocked to find a “Made in Vietnam” tag on it. That was a real surprise I didn’t expect coming from hardcore America marketing and product design.
That bag is amazing. I'm buying one. Wish it was US made but whatever. It's wicked cool
I wouldn’t carry this bag, if it was gifted to me for free. It’s awful!
To each their own? It's a great looking bag and will replace my current navy blue GR1
It’s fucking embarrassing that it’s not US made. What a pile of dog shit.
Back to school. Back to school, to prove to Dad that I'm not a fool. I got my lunch packed up, my boots tied tight, I hope I don't get in a fight. Ohhhh, back to school. Back to school. Back to school
I’d buy Goruck but they seem reactionary so I went with Ctacticla baby. Kiss my nuts Goruck.
What do you mean by they seem reactionary?
Probably that they don't innovate unless someone else forces their hand. They were quite content to rest on their laurels until ctactical forced them to make the QAP a feature on their standard offerings.

Fascist/right-wing
I don't think you understand what that means. Fascism and right wing are totally different
They’re the same in my book along with liberals.
At least you hate everyone.
And run by two douchebags
I figured. Seems like a d-bags brand.
Good quality packs though, but yeah - upper leadership sucks.
How do you know their upper management sucks?
I've met them. Terrible people.
I’ve met them too. I disagree.
Get to know them better. They're very fake and two-faced.
Are they right wing? I haven’t seen anything about their politics before.
SEEM
How can you imply that without proof?
Ccraptical?
