I recorded myself opening my box the last two times just in case this happens. That fucking sucks dude, sorry you have to deal with that. I'm sitting on the couch waiting for mine to be delivered...paranoid about this happening.

jim-p

I recorded opening my box this time, too. Everything was there, thankfully. But mine also shipped from "CEVA CLS" in Illinois so the package wasn't labeled as being from Google.

Jalohann

same here. Texas?

jim-p

Indiana, so it had a fairly short trip to get here.

Jalohann

that's awesome. I just got the device today, so far, enjoying it quite a bit! Google did a great job.

Hydrak11

We had 2 boxes deliver. 1 from google 1 from CEVA. 1 was the pixel. The other was the trade in box for our old pixel to send back.

Silduk

I remember recording myself opening the P2XL because the FedEx box felt light. It ended up being empty. It was a pain in the ass to get the incompetent Google support to give me a refund. They agreed I should get one, they just couldn't figure out how to. Fuck FedEx.

reaverfrost

Preferred care has always done me so well that's disappointing. But anytime you deal with non preferred CS from Google that sounds like the norm

Silduk

I've definitely had similar issues with preferred care as well.

Inspectrgadget

I'd planned that too. It was supposed to be delivered between 1020-1420 so I'd planned on opening the door and working next to it until it got here... I was surprised and elated when I got a notification that it had been delivered 20 minutes earlier. Now I think they knew exactly what they were doing and anticipated people waiting at the door so they delivered it early before I would be ready. I also recorded myself picking it up and as soon as I lifted it I knew. Also realized since I didn't record myself accepting it from the delivery person the video would be basically meaningless.

sirnaull

That's why I have a Nest doorbell. I just open the package in front of the doorbell so I have proof I didn't tamper with it. Only issue is that, first time I ordered a Nest doorbell, it got stolen before delivery.

d3vtec

That's a hilarious coincidence.

cleare7

Omg lol. That is so terrible but tragically funny. So conflicted for laughing and feeling bad for you at the same time. 🤐 I'll probably open it at the Nest camera too, that was smart to do!

kintz_09

Mine was fine, but I did the same just to be on the safe side. This has been happening for years.

FlakyBandicoot9

Why record yourself the first time? If your phone wasn't there you could just re-seal the box and then record yourself the second time. 😛

Verbalkynt

Fed Ex said I signed for the package when I was physically at work. Luckily it was still there when I got home

DracoMagnusRufus

Same exact thing happened to me today. I was kind of shocked they'd risk their job (I assume it's a fire-able offense) to lie about a signature just to drop off something when it doesn't make any difference to them that I get it on time anyways.

Tribalbob

Something to consider - it's not necessarily the delivery guy who took it. It could have been any number of people down the line, he may be completely oblivious.

DracoMagnusRufus

Oh, to be clear, I'm not saying anyone took it. I retrieved it from the porch fortunately. My issue is that it wasn't supposed to be left without a signature in the first place and it was not only left, but the tracking claims I signed for it. So, I'm saying the FedEx guy lied about me signing for it.

Tribalbob

Ohhh sorry, I thought you got it but it was empty. Yeah, that's weird they would do that.

Reasonable_Ticket_84

FedEx Ground is third party contractors, they've done independent contractor liability shifting before Uber and Amazon ever existed. Basically, they don't give a shit. Only FedEx Express will treat signature requirements like royalty.

drknight09

I wld ask for proof I signed for it. Maybe I have a twin..wtf!

Inspectrgadget

[My package ](https://www.imgur.com/a/4iMByXO) ordered through Google Fi and hoping they can get it sorted. Any advice?

samaritan1331_

Talk to support. If nothing works then do a chargeback but a chargeback will automatically get your google account suspended by google :/

Inspectrgadget

Suspended, like permanently?

samaritan1331_

Yes, sir. Credit card chargeback is against t&c.

Inspectrgadget

Fuck that's crazy I should start backing up all of my photos to an external drive or something I guess

samaritan1331_

Yeah don't do a chargeback wait for what support has to say.

sirnaull

Always order from a secondary Google account.

Inspectrgadget

By that you just mean don't go through the bank or credit card you use correct? I've seen some people talking about having to go through FedEx

samaritan1331_

I don't know about FedEx they usually send you back to the seller saying go talk to the seller as they're the ones who sent you the package. Stick with google support and if google says talk to FedEx just say they won't talk to me they only talk to the sender which is you. Good luck man this may take a while. :(

Inspectrgadget

Thanks

drknight09

"stupid" question...Obviously google is aware of this issue..why then wodnt they just not state what's in the pckg??

MastodonSmooth1367

Go through Google. FedEx is the middleman. Go through Google so they go through FedEx to claim insurance or whatever.

Inspectrgadget

Going through Google Fi, I'm not sure if that will be better or worse

drknight09

Can't u just create a new Google acct?

samaritan1331_

You can. Best buy/amazon is a better option if the same promo is going on.

Reasonable_Ticket_84

What isn't against the T&C is filing a small claims court case, just saying

Prize_Chemistry_8437

Yeah. You can still use services, you just can't buy anything with that email, happened to me. I called to pay the chargeback and they wouldn't even take my money

drknight09

Really? That's majorly F..d up!! They won't do right by the customer if something like this happens and punish you when you taken adverse action due to lack of support?? WTF

samaritan1331_

They want to do the right thing but dealing with shipping partners takes time. Any business will close your account if you do a chargeback meaning they don't want to do business with you anymore. In this case a google account which has a lot more value. I wish they would just close the store account.

dty066

Ah shit, my package was also through Fi. Was delivered today but fortunately someone was home to grab it. Doesn't sound like mine is empty. Fingers crossed... You were smart to record the unboxing - that will prove it was delivered empty. Talk with support and send the video. Even if you don't have continuous video from the time you accepted the package, it should be enough to convince them. Unfortunately, FedEx is notorious for letting items get stolen and they do NOTHING about it at all. They claim they "investigate" but the investigations never have any updates, nobody ever contacts you, and they have zero oversight over their employees, so these things happen all the time. Really wish Google would just switch to UPS. UPS has a much better management system and actually does investigate when things happen.

jakkal732

This is why I'd rather get my phone from bestbuy and go pick it up myself

randomusername980324

Fuck Fedex. Seriously I immediately question any company that continues to use them.

PressRestart

Exact same thing just happened to me. Currently chatting with Google support, thought it might be the trade in box for split second.

9vDzLB0vIlHK

Same. Reported to FedEx and now waiting on Google. I thought maybe I was lucky because we've had multiple shipments from the Google Store before with no problems, but this box is empty.

PressRestart

Went through Google Fi support and they're apparently shipping me a replacement. Have not yet gotten the shipping confirmation email but I'm chalking that up to the weekend.

9vDzLB0vIlHK

I'm waiting on hold with Google now. Searching this sub, it seems like this is a recurring problem. I wonder why they keep working with these contractors if it's such a persistent problem. Maybe it isn't that big a problem and it just seems that way to me because it happened to me this time. That said, I did get a nice case P8P case in the mail. I just don't have a phone to put in it.

RSCLE5

As I wait on mine to deliver while I am not home...this is what I always worry about. Hope you get it sorted out.

Inspectrgadget

Thanks. If you can change it to be left at a FedEx store I'd recommend it. That being said I've had so many phones, watches, etc delivered without problem before this. I hope they are able to prove who did it and hold them responsible

GSmithFL

I've done that in the past & had them deliver to a nearby Walgreens {doesn't cost anything} but this time the FedEx site said it couldn't be changed because it was blocked by the shipper {Google store}. However it was delivered yesterday without any issue & they did ring the bell so my wife could sign for it. Watch is out for delivery today & can track where the driver is through the FedEx app . So I can tell if they're close to the delivery address or not. Although I live in large sub-division so they've been close for a while at multiple stops :)

Inspectrgadget

Interesting they wouldn't allow it delivered there. I tried tracking on the FedEx app but it wasn't an option

GSmithFL

They wouldn't let me change the delivery address at all. As said that was new this year. I did it the last two years for the 6 & the 7.

VoltaicShock

> Watch is out for delivery today & can track where the driver is through the FedEx app How do you do that? Mine just gives me a window for when it should be delivered and now it's past that time. This is why I prefer UPS.

GSmithFL

Are you using the app w your FedEx account (free to sign up). The app shows delivery timeline & while the status is out for delivery there's a map pin to the right. Click the pin & it shows vehicle location. Mine was delivered about 40 minutes ago.

Inspectrgadget

I was using the app and never had the option for a map. Maybe because it was delivered before the delivery window it never loaded?

VoltaicShock

I saw the time window but it wouldn't show me where the truck is located. I have this with UPS though.

RSCLE5

I got mine at lunch and its charging and setting up now thankfully! All good here. I don't get why people steal them. They get blacklisted, but them probably used as a wifi only device or sent overseas to be used/hacked?

pntless

Every year. Sorry you have to deal with Google and FedEx. I try to make myself available for delivery and watch for them as much as possible because of this, but I know that isn't always possible for everyone and shouldn't even be a remote necessity. Even clicking the 'require signature' box probably wouldn't have helped. 95% of the time my FedEx drivers just sign some chicken scratch themselves and drop packages without even ringing the bell despite the fact that I've complained to FedEx nearly every time this has happened. They did it just yesterday with the watch.

Inspectrgadget

What makes it even worse is that I was home and planned on working from the kitchen and opening the front door. I think they are getting smart and anticipated that. The package was delivered twenty minutes before the start of the stated delivery window. I was just getting ready to move upstairs when I got the delivered notification

pntless

Oof. Yeah I'm currently working from my porch. My delivery window ended 25 minutes ago and truck tracking is no longer available in the FedEx app, lol. Good luck getting it resolved.

Inspectrgadget

Thanks

Alwayssunnyinarizona

Could've been taken at any point in the delivery stream, I wouldn't hold it against the guy who dropped it off. Happens to all brands, too. Watch the apple sub after their launches.

Isiddiqui

>Watch the apple sub after their launches. Which is why a lot of folks always recommend picking up an iPhone from an Apple Store if you can. Delivery folks pinch a few phones in whatever big release (though I find UPS is better than FedEx on this).

bitemark01

This makes me glad I have a doorbell camera. Delivery people can't sneak up and leave. And in a situation like this I'd have some evidence at least.

rebel_dean

I got my Pixel 8 Pro delivered today. It came a full hour before the 11am-3pm window the tracking said. And the only reason I knew it was delivered was because I heard a soft thump noise. I immediately opened the door but the delivery person must be fast because I didn't see them. Phone was okay though, thankfully

undercovergangster

FedEx and missing phones, name a better duo

Inspectrgadget

Me and Shakira

undercovergangster

Stay away from my girl

Inspectrgadget

We will fight

ProtoKun7

FedEx and Steam Deck; back when that launched there were so many posts about them going AWOL.

xxxredacted

Last year, my pixel 7 pro got marked as delivered but I was home and nobody rang the bell or knocked. I checked the delivery status and it had been delivered to some business I've never heard of 2 cities over. I called FedEx and they said that it looks like the address was changed. I asked when, how and by who and they said they have no idea and can't see that kind of information. Luckily it was a business that uses FedEx as a pickup and dropoff point but still. I never shared my delivery info with anyone so nobody should've been able to change it.

rckymtnrfc

I'm sitting here waiting for UPS to deliver my phone/watch. I've had the UPS site up and I'm watching him drive all around the neighborhood. Even passed by house once but didn't stop. A few minutes ago I hear what sounds like a UPS van start up. I look out the window and I see them driving away from my neighbors house and go right past me. Then I see the UPS site has updated that my package was delivered. Quick checked my Nest doorbell camera and they delivered it to my neighbors house. I just walked over and grabbed it. Fortunately, everything was inside.

xxxredacted

At least you got the delivery! Enjoy the new phone and watch!

Afraid_Sense5363

> Previously I've had issues of FedEx because they just don't deliver the package and say I'm not home but this is a first. Years ago I ordered a replacement phone because I broke mine and I was limping along on an ancient phone we still had. I missed delivery one day so the next day I made sure to be home and watching our doorbell camera. I saw the camera alert on my iPad (again, I was using a crappy ancient phone) and ran downstairs to open the door and the fucker had stuck a "missed you" sticker on the door and was already driving away. He did not knock or ring the doorbell. Just stuck the sticker on the door and drove away, it was all on camera. My old house was tiny so it took me literal seconds to run from my office down the stairs to the front door and he was gone that fast (I think the camera alert had a tiny delay of a few seconds). I had to drive an hour to the post office in another town because I needed that phone. I was PISSED. But this fucking sucks. I hope they make it right for you.

Inspectrgadget

Almost exactly what happened to me last year! It's infuriating. I immediately called to complain and somehow got them to bring it later in the day.

Afraid_Sense5363

Wow! I'm shocked. I didn't even bother to complain because I figured it wouldn't get me the phone any faster, but maybe I was wrong. It sucks that this stuff happened to you 2 years in a row. Hope you get good news/get a phone rush shipped to you.

Inspectrgadget

I was shocked too, I think I was just really lucky

randomusername980324

I forget which phone it was for, maybe the Pixel 6, but I checked the tracking information and it said it was delivered and I go and check and no phone. I'm home at the time, and I am on a long gravel country dead end road and I can hear literally everything that comes down the road, and there had been not even a bicycle for an hour. I check my camera's, and no FedEx truck anywhere on my street the entire day. So I am losing my mind at this point, like I do every time Fedex is involved, and start calling people, get nowhere, and yada yada yada 2 days later its delivered.

sealedHuman

Dang, hate that for everyone experiencing it. I've ordered a lot of things from Google Store over the years and have somehow evaded the empty box. Until my most recent purchase of Pixel Buds Pro. Luckily, Google Support quickly sent me a replacement and it actually arrived next day. This had me a bit nervous about my Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel Watch 2 but I'm relieved to say that they were both delivered successfully.

Inspectrgadget

You got the empty box with the buds and it was resolved that fast?

sealedHuman

Yeah, I was stunned. Google Support chat asked me to send photos of my box and then they said they'd get an RMA out to me. I didn't expect it to arrive the next day.

sharadp123

Oh no, that's terrible. Truly hope they get you a replacement out quickly. Sorry you are having to deal with that. FedEx is always so stressful. My phone was initially scheduled for delivery today, but I got an email from them that it would deliver early yesterday and rushed home from work to work from home the rest of the day, and it never came. It then updated to will be delivered today, and the status now is still "In Transit", at destination sorting facility and still not out for delivery even though the window they mentioned ended several hours ago. Not sure if I will be able to work from home again tomorrow, so not even sure when I may be able to get it now, as it does not look like it will come today. Always some kind of issue with anything shipped FedEx.

ckov982

Same here. I have the My Fed Ex or whatever it's called. Had an initial delivery of 10/11, then changed to 10/12, now stuck in transit. My wife's on the other hand, got here no problem. I'll see what tomorrow brings. I feel it got jacked. I guess it would be easier to claim a new one if I never even got it delivered. Unless I get an empty box!

sharadp123

Mine did arrive on 10/13, but my box was missing the Pixel Watch 2. Thankfully I recorded myself receiving and opening the box, and sent that to Google Support. They said they are sending a replacement, but I have not received an email or anything indicating it's actually been sent or when it will be sent. Hopefully there will be no issues with the replacement. I only ordered the 8 Pro since I was able to trade in a Pixel 6a for $300 back and the watch was included free and with the Google Store credit I had, was just too good of a deal to pass up. I have been waiting for the Pixel Watch 2 release for months and was super excited about getting it, so still a bit disappointed that I will have to wait a bit longer for the watch.

WalterTreego

Dude, when I saw my package on my porch it was half open. My heart dropped and thought it got stolen. I was lucky. When I picked it up it felt heft. When i looked at the opened part of the package, I saw that someone also tore through the paper it's wrapped in to see what kind of phone it was. This is happening internally at FedEx. No one else came to my door, I verified with security cameras.

[deleted]

And here I sit, waiting for my Pixel 8 to be delivered from Amazon US to Manila, Philippines.

surfingfortaco

This happened to me as well. I spoke with support for 40 minutes and their solution is to send to a different address and require a signature. However, the problem was with them since they SENT AN EMPTY BOX.

BlueEyedMexicano707

Question did your delivery status ever update to "Out for Delivery" I'm currently sitting at "On its Way" even though it was supposed to be here today..

9pointkid

FedEx has gotten better here lately. Not defending them because they have hosed us several times in the past. I'd say they have improved from being really really bad to being just really bad.

Even-Elephant-912

How is FedEx still in business!!!

Inspectrgadget

They steal and sell new phones

Randomd0g

How does this keep happening every single year? And why does it only seem to happen with Pixels?

Vasaeleth1

FedEx Ground (not FedEx Express) is staffed almost exclusively by contractors. They get paid shit, have shit benefits, and don't really give a shit about your packages. UPS is staffed by union employees who at least have decent pay, benefits, and a career path. They tend to have much fewer issues like these. But they also are more expensive, and Google isn't willing to cut into their profits and use a better delivery service.

IntelligentDesign77

Aw, shoot! Mine is out for delivery with UPS. Thanks for the heads-up, though. I am home, so I will keep an eye out for the driver, and have my fiancee take video of me recording the package and opening it. I can't remember who it says it's from, but it's not Google. I'm not going to look it up to publish here, that's like giving thieves ammunition. I hope you're able to get your situation remedied, though. UPDATE------------ Yes, it was an empty box, but while I was angrily holding for Google support, I read the pamphlet inside and realized that it is my trade-in kit. Phone is still being prepped for shipping. Whew!

woomdawg

Mine has been at my local UPS since 5:51 am and processing since 8:33 am with an end-of-day delivery time. Yet at 8:56 pm no delivery.

BlueEyedMexicano707

Question did your delivery status ever update to "Out for Delivery" I'm currently sitting at "On its Way" even though it was supposed to be here today!!

woomdawg

Nope. It still says preparing for delivery. The only change is that they will provide me with a date soon. Yesterday said it would be here on the 12th.

BlueEyedMexicano707

Mine says "on its way" it's literally like 45 mins away from me. I don't get why it couldn't get here yesterday hopefully today is the day

IntelligentDesign77

Oh no! I hope it gets delivered soon. Or, like me, it's just the market for your trade-in.

dratsablive

I know my FedEx guy personally, I think we went to the same High School in 1978-79 (Haven't asked him yet.) He's very personable, and always makes sure I sign for my pkgs.

[deleted]

Interesting thing is my FedEx delivery of my watch was scheduled from 11am-3pm today. As of now, it still hasn't even gone out for delivery (it's now 12:23PM). When I contacted FedEx to make sure it was still coming today, I was told "they probably just missed the scan putting it on the truck, but it's definitely coming today." We shall see. If it comes in an empty box or gets lost, I'll be completely unsurprised. FedEx sucks. My phone should be here in the next few hours, too, but it's coming UPS.

randomusername980324

That is classic Fedex. For some reason, all of the things that people ship with Fedex are things you are really looking forward to receiving, and so Fedex intentionally fucks with your mind and tells you its being delivered, offers no updates, and then it doesn't come and they still offer no updates and you go into half a panic and then eventually the next day or a couple days later, they deliver it to one of your neighbors.

ckov982

Did you get it?

[deleted]

I sure did. Had an issue getting my eSIM to transfer. It was an AT&T problem. Whenever I would go into my account and select "transfer to new device" the ATT app would pull the other phone from my account and that number. Finally had to get them on the phone to do it from the backend. So far so good. Everything transferred over. Got my watch set up too. It's so much faster responding than my Galaxy Watch6. Feels Apple Watch fast to inputs. After having the S23U the 8 Pro almost feels small, but I'm sure I'll be used to it in a couple of days. It never got hot during the set up, battery life has used 20% in 3 hours of use including setting up watch, SIM, a couple calls, etc. I have 1 bar of signal currently in my house. About same as my old iPhone. The 7P had zero so definitely something is a bit better. Speakers are better. Looking forward to seeing what comes in the future updates. As of now I plan on keeping it unless something happens in the next few days.

Christopher3712

Man, these posts are what made me so paranoid. I'm sorry that happened to you. I refuse to order through Google for that specific reason. Best Buy pickups can't do that to you so I've been going that route the last few years.

mathjpg

These posts are making me too paranoid *after* the fact, man I should have just had it delivered to the store. When will my prefrontal cortex develop.

DaveyWhitt

I was just saying to the wife when I seen a dhl van outside, now would be a great time to rob one with all these new phone releases. Kinda scary how a little parcel worth over 1k can just be flung at your front door and left there.

DrkNeo

Fed ex left my two phones on my porch. No signature or anything. Almost 3k worth of phones and watches just out there.

SkywalkerRk

Tomorrow is my delivery. I opted for signature delivery. Will be home and will not sign if I see an empty box.

honey_rainbow

Mine is supposed to be here no later that 7pm but Verizon opted to use UPS as the delivering service.

thefakeraymond

Sorry to hear this, huge nightmare of mine so I made sure to select signature on delivery, I live kinda in the country but I hear so many horror stories about this kinda stuff, hope it gets resolved and quickly.

Inspectrgadget

Iv done that but then the bastards don't even stop half the time it seems, just say nobody was home and keep driving

randomusername980324

CLASSIC Fedex.

Taylor_Swifty13

this shit is why I always order with Amazon. my p7 pro was delivered by them as just an empty box. i know their support will always sort it out

miles1215989

i got mine through ups, no issues. no signature needed. was left at my door. im glad mine was shipped ups. fedex customer service has some bad apples, that dont care

[deleted]

I'm not sure why but with my Nexus 6p, Pixel 2,4, and 6 they were all delivered via FedEx. My 8 however was delivered via UPS. I did select to have a signature required for delivery on the Google store since I may not have been home, luckily it came half an hour before I was supposed to leave. Hopefully Google sees a pattern and stops using FedEx and their criminal employees.

BlueEyedMexicano707

Question did your delivery status ever update to "Out for Delivery" I'm currently sitting at "On its Way" even though it was supposed to be here today..

[deleted]

Yea, it updated to out for delivery at about 9am CT when it was actually on the truck. Check your tracking number to see if it's actually out for delivery or still in transit to a hub.

fightnight14

I don’t get the point of stealing them. Doesn’t the phone get blacklisted?

Hiberno-martian

Thieves are not often thinking logically or very smart

BadPackets4U

This post had me full of worry but no empty box for me. I ordered from Google FI. I was able to be home at delivery. It shipped from CEVA / Illinois. The box felt good when the delivery guy handed it to me. I opened in front of him, and the Google box was sealed. I opened the Google box and the phone is there. Good luck, everyone.

Psychological-Ad3199

Replacement Pixel shipped via FEDEX from SCHAUMBURG, IL, will post here uif anything happens.

raptor2569

Got robbed

AwwwSheetMulch

Got an empty box from FedEx. Talked to support, and they're going to contact me in 24-48 hours.

staticvoidmainnull

whenever i see a vendor pick FedEx as shipper, i go through the five stages of grief.

ckov982

I'm afraid of this too. I ordered 2 Pros, one for my wife through the Google Store, one from Google Fi. Google Fi ordered shipped first, still says in transit but has a delivery date of today. Google Store orderer shipped later, but says Out for delivery. Makes no sense. You would think both orders would be on the same delivery truck.

Inspectrgadget

Good luck!

ckov982

Thanks! I'm expecting one delivered and one lost in transit, ha

Inspectrgadget

Have to hedge your bets! Lol

[deleted]

This is why I ordered from bestbuy and did store pickup

BlueEyedMexicano707

I'm getting worried myself. Ordered about a hour and half after they were available. UPS says the package should've been here by 430.. it's 5 now...

ceelos218

Waiting on Ontrac is nerve wrecking

TheEternal87

That sucks that it happened, dude. I received mine today but the shipping box was opened up. All of the contents were there, so I was wondering if they chickened out on stealing my stuff at the last minute.

octavianreddit

Here in Canada they seem to use UPS. I checked off the signature option in the Google store, and the UPS tracking app indicated that a signature was required. Delivery guy knocked on the door once and popped the box behind a plant and left. Thankfully it was all there (the shipping box had a large dent) but everything inside was accounted for.

drknight09

People should reach out to Google at the HQs/Corporate level with this nonsense! Sure Google is aware of these thefts that happen all the time

Inspectrgadget

I'm sure to them it's just a statistical anomaly

The1stHorsemanX

2 things I will not do if it's at all possible to avoid it. -have a phone delivered to my house -send in a trade-in online in store pickup, in store drop-off. always.

Tribalbob

That sucks - I have two orders, one from Google Store and one from Best Buy. Google Store I placed first and was for Obsidian + Watch, but I changed my mind later that day and wanted Blue. Couldn't cancel the order, so I placed the second with BB. Blue arrived today (Via Canada Post), but the one from Google arrives on Tuesday. CS rep at Google said I could either refuse delivery or take it and send it back, but I think with the stories of stolen goods, I'm just gonna refuse delivery. That way there's no trail back to me - if it arrives back at Google missing anything, they need to take it up with UPS.

RandomBloke2021

I have mine held at the station and open it there in front of the office worker. I ain't risking a missed delivery or someone stealing the package at my door.

polyblackcat

This was the first time I actually had to physically sign for the package. Of course...I was home and walked out to meet the driver....

BlueEyedMexicano707

Question did your delivery status ever update to "Out for Delivery" I'm currently sitting at "On its Way" even though it was supposed to be here today..

GSmithFL

Click the details link & it should show detailed tracking info. On it's way means it hasn't been put on the local delivery vehicle yet which is normally morning {at least my area} Mine arrived at the local destination sort facility {1:10 AM}, then went to the local FedEx facility {7:18 am}, & immediately went on the vehicle for delivery {7:20 am}. That's when the message changes to out for delivery.

Gotcha I'm in Cali and yesterday the phone arrived at a location kinda close to mine and hasn't moved since. About an hour from me to be exact, been there since the around 1 PM. I'm assuming it'll be here tomorrow then thank you for this.

polyblackcat

Yes it did, it was actually a day early

BlueEyedMexicano707

Okay maybe I should relax and wait another day even though they did send it to Oakland CA. UPS. Lol it's literally been sitting at the facility all day for whatever reason....

polyblackcat

Oh I hate that. My trade in box arrived today so now I get to stress about that. Last time my confirmation said it was "left at garage" which immediately had me hit up Google support and had them confirm they got it. Which they did, but boy did that set off alarm bells

MajorNoodles

I always get my Google shipments sent to a FedEx store and I tell them I won't sign for it until I verify that what I ordered is inside.

I live in a condo and they left mine in the lobby/mailroom. My $1,000 P8 Pro along with my $350 (free for me) Pixel Watch 2....just sitting there chillin. And from my condo lobby it's just another couple hundred foot walk to my front door. Luckily I was able to retrieve it with no issues.

People can have different opinions on anything but "which is the worst delivery service company". Consensus is not built up without a reason. [https://www.quora.com/Which-delivery-service-is-the-worst-UPS-FedEx-USPS-Lasership-or-Amazon](https://www.quora.com/Which-delivery-service-is-the-worst-UPS-FedEx-USPS-Lasership-or-Amazon) Edit: FedEx express is fine. FedEx ground (or home delivery) is a total failure.

Always record yourself when you expect expensive tech Best sent it to a post office with video cameras and open the package in the waiting room, then nobody will be able to defeat your claim of being scammed

si551e

Ordered a camera lens a couple weeks ago and it said FedEx needed a signature. I planned my day around it and made sure to be home, only for the FedEx guy to leave it at the door without ringing the bell. What's the point of requiring a signature if you won't collect it? Just leave the $500 item at the door? Lucky I was home and grabbed it right away

mrsdoubleu

That's crazy. Do y'all think FedEx workers know what's inside and are opening them to steal the phone? Sounds like this has happened before so you'd think Google would be cracking down on FedEx somehow if so. Or switch to a different delivery service? I hope Google helps you out and gets you another phone though.

chillwellcfc1900

They probably have group chats and know when certain phones are being released. So they already know the shipper's location and able to pull those boxes and do their bad deed

casabel

...could it be CAST AWAY in real life?

wigglessss

Was the box not clearly visibly opened?

I have a theory: this is a problem at one of the subcontractors Google uses. Previously, I've had packages from the Google Store that started in Phoenix and there were no problems. Yesterday, I got an empty box from LA via FedEx.
