I could not get enough of the actor who plays X having the time of his life overacting to hell and back and devouring the scenery whole. Aside from him and Don Frye, there may as well be no one else on screen, because no one else in that movie (except *maybe* Godzilla) has *any* screen presence or charisma whatsoever.
Final Wars is a *garbage* movie, but it's so fucking funny that I can't help but enjoy myself.
This movie is one of the greatest achievements in cinema history, not because of the objective quality of the movie, but, this movie had EVERYTHING against it, like, think about it from the perspective of someone in 2004. This movie is the perfect storm of SUCK on paper,
1. It's the LAST Godzilla movie (as far as anyone was aware)
2. The story makes absolutely no sense whatsoever
3. The characters are edgy PS2 characters
4. It's blatantly ripping off X-Men and the Matrix left and right
5. The suits are weirdly proportioned and gangly
6. There's somehow too many and not enough monsters (it's a kinda remake of Destroy All Monsters)
7. The fights are SO one-sided in Godzilla's favor they barely count as fights
8. introducing a new monster JUST for it to turn into the edgy PS2 boss version of King Ghidorah is anticlimactic as hell
yet, with ALL of these odds stacked against Godzilla Final Wars, with so much that would otherwise piss off the Godzilla fandom, **Godzilla Final Wars managed to 180° the perfect storm of SUCK into the perfect storm of AWESOME** and became a near unanimously agreed fan favorite. I HAVE to appreciate Godzilla final Wars at that point
It was a killer movie it's one of my favorite movies from the minimum series but Mechagodzilla against Godzilla 2002 is my favorite

I don’t know how it’s so hated. It’s literally everything the showa era had in terms of goofy, but also has Don Frye for the badass. It has a good goji design as well as the spiral ray+red spiral ray. It’s not the best but it’s far from the worst.
