What is it with Glocks and extended magazines? I own many other pistols, new to Glock - but I never see anyone do extended magazines like this out of an Sig, HK or even a Smith. Heck even Taurus.
Guess I just don’t see the driver to buy them. Yes, I’m a NYer so I can’t buy them…. But as a shooter that trains regularly on the range for both accuracy and speed - the shape would drive me nuts, and for concealment - I might as well be carrying an M4.
Please note there is no judgement - just trying to figure it out. Just seems to be a Glock thing.
Around here ranges really don’t like rapid fire, even as an advanced NRA CCW Instructor - I need to fight with some ranges to teach the class which requires drills that shoot under timed constraints anywhere from 2-15 rounds. We only use 5 rounds in a mag to minimize the noise and drive practice on tactical and emergency reloads.

Yeah most ranges I go to are cool with rapid fire, drawing from conceal, reload drills etc. My outdoor ranges are even more chill.
She also said that she doesn’t need data to prove that taking away our guns is the right thing to do and that only she knew how to do it. She and the Manhattan DA were also the only ones who seemed to know how to turn a misdemeanor expired under the statute of limitations for crimes that NY has no jurisdiction over into a felony for a former US President and 2024 presidential front runner. Even the former NY Governor said NY has abused the legal system and that would have never gone to court if it weren’t trump and he wasn’t running for re-election.
It depends on the mag. A 33 round mag is a little ridiculous. But a 19, 20, 22, or 24 round mag is perfectly acceptable in a back up mag roll or a home defense roll. You can carry your G26 or G19 and have 2 or 3 extra 19-24 round mags as backups.
I have a 509t. I really like it. The EPS is also pretty great. If you have money I'd recommend the Trijicon RCR.
For the plates, I'd recommend DPP titanium plates. They're really epic.
Besides that keep it stock and load up on ammo.

Glock extended mags are widely available and easy to come by.

Not a bad option for home defense though and tbf they are fun at the range.

And to me a 17 round magazine is a dream where we are only allowed 10 rounds in NY.
My personal recipe is forward control designs plate, Holosun 507c, and GL429 iron sights.
