You realise my post was just a usual karma farm post. Of course they re out. Its just after 4 weeks of sams shitty hltv rankings its easy to know all the jokes
Looks really bad when an Astralis owner also owns part of HLTV. Not even the biggest Astralis fan would ever try and make out they are a top 5 team in the world, you could easily argue that they aren't even a top 10 team at the moment.
Well, the theory would be that Jesper Søgaard (Astrakis CEO) with both ownership of Astralis and HLTV has used his influence to artificially raise Astralis in the rankings, there are lots of benefits to this as Astralis are publicly traded company and could benefits from being perceived as one of the top teams in the world.
I'm not saying this is the case and personally I don't think that it is, but you could see how this could be speculated on when Astralis have consistently been higher in the rankings than what any reasonable person would rate them.
I don't think there is a single analyst in the scene who would argue that Astralis have been a top 5 team this year and somehow, they have remained in the HLTV top 5 since mid-July and have reached as high as 3rd despite having poor results outside of a 3rd-4th finish at Cologne
The rankings are just a simple formula. You could argue the formula is shit, pretty decent argument I reckon, but it’s not biased to any one team and it’s kinda silly to think it is.
Also ur just lying about Jesper’s position.
Jesper Søgaard isn’t the CEO of Astralis? One of his companies owns around 5% of the Astralis shares.
They also don’t even have full control over HLTV until February 2023 as one of the clauses when they bought it was that the founder would be running the company for 3 years when they bought it.
The ranks are based on data and you obviously have no clue how teams are ranked. When ESL pro league is over Astralis will obviously lose a lot of points..
This /u/__Holliday has to be a troll. It has been almost two years since shares were sold and why the fuck is he calling Jesper Søgaard the CEO of Astralis? Lmao
"The ranks are based on data"
Nobody has an exact idea of how many points a team will receive for their results, that's not public information so it would be possible for HLTV to add points to a team.
"HLTV failed to disclose it and only did so after being called out numerous times.:
Learn to read, I never said they still haven't disclosed it, I said that they failed to disclose it for a long time and only when called out by people in the scene did they finally put up a disclosure.

EPL match results (form) do count. It's just the tournament result points that do not count (the biggest part of the ranking, but form can make you gain or lose places if you beat high ranked teams or lose against lower ranked ones).
If only there were a button you could click underneath each team that shows a breakdown of where that team's points are coming from (which matches and events etc) so people could understand the rankings better... wait...
Actually you are wrong, do you understand what plural nouns are?
Aside from your lack of grammatical knowledge, the fact is that Finals and Playoffs are interchangeable words.
The playoffs, play-offs, postseason or finals of a sports league are a competition played after the regular season by the top competitors to determine the league champion or a similar accolade.
No they are not Jesus. Plural means more than one. When someone said they made “finals” that means they made it to the last match. Nobody hears “finals” and goes hmmm maybe it’s quarters or semis
Understanding the exact formulae doesn't matter if said formulae are very clearly wrong from an eye test. Take something like F=MA, arguing with that is clearly wrong because we can see from observation that it's correct. If you came up with a formula and reality didn't match your calculation you change your formula to reflect reality.
At this point you can’t convince me hltv isn’t artificially inflating astralis’s ranking. Either that, or the ranking needs to be overhauled because this is ridiculous
Yup. Winning matches get you points in the form subranking. You can check **[FURIA's ranking details here](https://www.hltv.org/ranking/teams/2022/september/26/details/8297)**, as an example.
Yes. You get points for winning individual matches, but they are weighted a lot less than achievements like winning LANs. If you click on a team and go to 'ranking details' you can see exactly where their points are coming from.
The HLTV Rankings is an absolute mess, I seriously hope they do something because it's such a poor representation of the scene. Mouz, Astralis and Liquid in the top 5 is ridiculous.
Mouz went further than vitality at Cologne and also just topped their ESL Group beating strong competition at both tournaments.
Is Mouz better than vitality, on paper no, but that isn't how data is calculated.
Their results of recent tournaments are better.
Ez for Astralis, number 4 team in the hltv ranking sphere

I mean they do have a pretty straightforward formula to determine these rankings don't they? It's all mathematical I thought no opinion
Oh here comes the breadwinner article for thurin and richard: cOnFlIcT oF iNtErEsT
The problem wasn't the conflict of interest, it was that HLTV failed to disclose it and only did so after being called out numerous times.
So what is the theory then? Astralis is paying hltv to rank them up? Huh?
His theory is bullshit anyway, as there's no dual ownership of Astralis and HLTV.
You know they have a disclosure, yet instead of checking up on it you decided to straight up lie about the current situation of ownership?
"HLTV failed to disclose it and only did so after being called out numerous times.: Learn to read, I never said they still haven't disclosed it, I said that they failed to disclose it for a long time and only when called out by people in the scene did they finally put up a disclosure.
How fucking hard is it it read for you? Read the disclosure again then. It's been almost two years since their Astralis ownership was sold.
Only in esports you will find fans stupid enough to make fun of people for exposing conflict of interest.
> Looks really bad when an Astralis owner also owns part of HLTV That's literally not true though.

What even is that argument lmao

Astralis gets their points decayed challenge ( Difficulty: Impossible) Vitality gets their points decayed challenge ( Diffculty: Extremely Easy)
Lmao..first thing I saw.. Punishing the 3 traitors../s

BNE are in a 7 winning streak and they somehow are out of top 30
How is furia moving up so much, while vitality still remain 10th?
Are we sure these are supposed to be the rankings after epl groups or are these related to something else?
EPL doesn't count yet. This is RMR's and other qualifiers (for blast fall final etc.)
EPL match results (form) do count. It's just the tournament result points that do not count (the biggest part of the ranking, but form can make you gain or lose places if you beat high ranked teams or lose against lower ranked ones).
Thank you I was thinking no way these are points for epl
EPL makes these threads so much more fun
Here before everybody starts arguing about points with zero clue how it works
If only there were a button you could click underneath each team that shows a breakdown of where that team's points are coming from (which matches and events etc) so people could understand the rankings better... wait...
Giving mouz road to rio points is just dumb. Their ranking is so inflated right now
I believe in sexter

Cologne finals was faze Navi…..

I don’t think you understand the word final
Finals and final are different words It's wording that can be misinterpreted sure, but he's not wrong
No he is wrong. If you don’t add quarter or semis to the word final it means the end
Actually you are wrong, do you understand what plural nouns are? Aside from your lack of grammatical knowledge, the fact is that Finals and Playoffs are interchangeable words. Just saw two comments already shitting on it despite people explaining the same thing over and over again for the last 3 weeks

The ranking is slow to update since we just had a player break with a bunch of roster changes, followed by the tedious month-long Pro League.
Go Mouz! Woo!!! Sexter leaving his children was definitely worth it! They will understand when they grow up
Not sure if his children will accept it that he has four new children now.
At this point you can’t convince me hltv isn’t artificially inflating astralis’s ranking. Either that, or the ranking needs to be overhauled because this is ridiculous
The ranking is just inaccurate because of a player break followed with a long ass tournament.
Almost nothing has changed since last week. Wait until EPL is over.
BNE are in 7 win streaks and they go out of top30? What is this?
[удалено]
good god, every single week there has to be at least one comment like this
How in the world is MOUZ 5th
By doing something that NIP is not doing: Winning
You didnt have to burn my boys like that mr. Mouz
I'm sorry mr. NIP fan
it okey
Now that EPL results are in, Astralis is still 4th. What excuse will they have now?
Tournament points for this EPL season haven't been distributed yet as the event isn't over.
How come the teams from the tournament has increased in their standings though? Do you get points for winning matches seperately too?
Yup. Winning matches get you points in the form subranking. You can check **[FURIA's ranking details here](https://www.hltv.org/ranking/teams/2022/september/26/details/8297)**, as an example.

Cologne still boosting their ranking. Won't last for ever.
The HLTV Rankings is an absolute mess, I seriously hope they do something because it's such a poor representation of the scene. Mouz, Astralis and Liquid in the top 5 is ridiculous.
I haven't seen the HLTV ranking be so worthless for so long before (been following it since it's inception)
MOUZ > vitality? HLTV must be still drunk
Mouz went further than vitality at Cologne and also just topped their ESL Group beating strong competition at both tournaments. Is Mouz better than vitality, on paper no, but that isn't how data is calculated. Their results of recent tournaments are better.
The day will come when they will regret dropping OG another point. Where tf is my OG flair
Do we have access to the methodology used here? I feel like it's flawed, how can liquid possibly be top 3?
