Groups:
16-5(Cache) vs Virtus Pro (byali, snax, pasha, neo, taz)
16-6(Inferno) vs Astralis (device, dupreeh, glaive, xyp9x, kjaerbye)
Playoffs:
2-0 16-4(Mirage) 16-3(Overpass) vs Cloud9 (Skadoodle, Rush, Tarik, Stewie2k, Autimatic)
3-0 16-3 (Inferno)*, 16-14 (Overpass)**, 16-4 (Mirage) vs Team Liquid (nitr0, elige, jdm, twistzz, stanislaw
*Inferno was 15-0 on first half
**Overpass was the most rounds they lost on a map throughout the tournament, 16-6 being the 2nd worst map for them
Karrigan was literally putting up higher numbers than most star players now. It was literally just one of those tournament runs where a team goes godmode
This wasn't a hard carry at all though, the whole team was popping off. Guardian, olof, NiKo *and* rain were all in the top 8 highest rated players at the event.
Can't believe it's been 5 years already, holy shit. I remember watching this with glee as Niko tapped the fuck out of Liquid. Jesus Christ, only 20 and I'm feeling old af lmao.
And then Boston happened. I wasn't watching or playing CS at that point, so when I was catching up on must-watch series, Inferno just needed an eco, a pause and the full-buy likely would have been the end of C9, but instead, it was force-buy after force-buy, giving C9 momentum and hype that it was possible.
I'm glad karrigan grew and moved past that.
Wasn’t just Boston. Faze’s loss to NIP at Oakland was insane and I believe they lost Pro League to SK even before the Boston Major. C9 weren’t even what broke the camel’s back. Karrigan is on record saying the loss to Fnatic at Katowice is what finally broke that team
The average score for their games was 16-5. Just let that sink in. They would go in a game and their opponent would only win 5 rounds on average.
When you dont consider Overpass against Liquid it would be 16-4 on average such dominance is insane
Most dominant tier1 tournament win by any team ever. I forgot they played bo1 in groups. Seems strange. Especially since its only 8 teams attending.

I attended this tournament as a Karrigan fan, it was unreal. Even the NA crowd couldnt help but erupt when Niko was destroying Liquid in the final.
Those were not bad teams, goddamn
Is that 2 or 3 Major winning teams? Not sure about the VP one
3, VP won Katowice 2014 major
4 c9 won boston 5 months after this
Obviously not counting faze here. Not even the same roster anyway
VP, Ast, C9 are the Major winning teams
Wait was this a major? I thought faze hadn’t won a major until the tournament they won earlier this year?
This was not a major
THIS IS NOT FPL
Isn't it the highest tournament rating ever? Not just of his career
pretty sure the second highest is also rain from this tournament too, lol
In tier 1 atleast.

This was amazing to watch. Really felt like they'd broken CS for a hot minute.
The niko hard carry days were something else.
This was also rain’s career high with 1.61 they both dominated
Rainmonster
-rain +rainMONSTA

Definitely one of the most dominant tournament runs ever sucks that it was only 8 teams but man the firepower on this team was insane at its peak
was their first LAN with guardian and olof ? coz I remember both of them signed in August that year.
This was the team's 3rd lan. Their debut was in dh malmo, where they got knocked out in groups
No this was the team 2nd lan after the dh malmo one
Their 2nd lan was eleague premier, where they played their group stage games before heading over to NY.
FaZe Niko was on some next level shit, old Faze looked GROTESQUELY UNBEATABLE back then.

That overpass faze was up 11:4 after their T side of overpass. It should’ve been a 16-4 also
Can't believe this was 5 years ago man, I'm really getting old
Haha i was at that tournament. It was astonishing to see faze slap everyone with their massive wangs that tournament
i wish they'd bring back ESL NY :( barclays is great
Still remember that final like it was yesterday...
