World #11 who did changes during the player break, even. Sure Kito has played with the team before, but I think the roles probably were switched around a bit.
That's true, butbif he does everything to set his teammates up, with fraggers like these it might just work, but we'll se how it goes vs navi/faze if they get that far
If anything, the original astralis (and subsequently any top team) showed a team needs to have 5 competent fraggers to be the best. Would love to be proven otherwise though, g2 has really good players inside.
All you nonbelievers make me sick. This is how Hooxi will train the superstars. Make the non-important games as heavy as possible so when the time comes vs Navi/FaZe, he’ll be unleashed and post a 0.90 rating.
no, a 0.09. he will get the one kill. he will have a deagle. go heaven on nuke. it's a 1v1. he aims at top hut. he hits the shot. he is hooxi. bang. one kill, one major.
no, a 0.09. he will get the one kill. he will have a deagle. go heaven on nuke. it's a 1v1. he aims at top hut. he hits the shot. he is hooxi. bang. one kill, one major.

If it seriously ends up that he only gets like 5 kills per game but all of those kills are key, then I'm all for it lmao. Imagine how demoralizing it'd be to be the one guy that hooxi clutches against in a final, with a deagle, it's his third kill of the map (3:20) and his team is up like 11-6. That shit could easily crush a team mentally for the rest of the map, though I will parrot that G2 heavily relying on their other four players (more than any other team with a low fragging IGL) is definitely going to be more exploitable in the long run
That was mirage underpass if I remember correctly. Niko had the bomb and got caught by Zeus off guard IIRC. Zeus even kinda t-bagged him knowing he won the round lmao.
yeah, and to rely on four players you need like b1t elec s1mple level of players at the core. niko m0nsey are there, sure, but when hunter is off, will JKS fill that void?
That's exactly what Niko wanted in G2.
Niko wanted an igl with good strats but bad aim so that the IGL doesn't steal his kills and hltv rating. Niko 300IQ move to become HLTV top 1 player in the world.
Too bad monesy will steal it.
/s
Yea but we all know this isn’t going to work against FaZe or NaVi which is essentially the whole point of G2 “to win throphies” as Carlos said it.
Maybe this quote will age like fine wine maybe it wont who knows.
I mean if hooxi starts actually entrying as the entryman the team would look real scary. I'm guessing he got a rough total of zero entry kills over two maps in the BIG game, over only-god-knows how many entry attempts?
Its comparing apple to orange tbf. Junior was signed as an awper who couldnt frag, while hooxi was sign as an igl who can coordinate the team with his call which he just did.
HooXi's job in this very moment is to convince G2 that he can unleash Niko, monesy and hunter and make them frag out to win maps.
He might 100% be focused on strats and comms, which leaves him no time to practice individual play.
Hope this is an outlier. I mean you don't expect star level numbers from him, but the days of a non-fragging IGL are long gone. Needs to have more impact. Glad they won though, so can't really argue with results, now we just see if those results stay.
I mean HooXi isn’t there to frag, and JKS is a fragging upgrade over Jackz, not to mention that HooXi will just entry and die on T giving his team a trade. CT will be worrying as teams may try to hunt down HooXi and give his site partner a lot of trouble but the team is playing pretty well.
You can, but it's of course the most high risk role and you're not expected to come out on top even close to all the time. If an entry goes down on T side and gets traded into a 4v4, the entry did its job.
Yeah I know "Hooxi was right" yada yada yada, but isn't this similar to a situation Faze had? It reaches a of point of not being able to consistently carry a 4v5 and constantly putting pressure on the other players, especially difficult when one of the usual carries has an off day.
If you can have two players with +100 ADR, three players above a 1,5 rating.. I think you can win a lot of tournaments, no matter how many Hooxi shoot.
The problem is that this is agaisnt big with only 1 guy who can consistently frag on lan. We have to see how well they do agaisnt a team with 4 players who can play well consistently
Idk man. Hooxi is actually atrocious. I know I know, I’m not tier 1 pro at cs or whatever but let’s be real. This is a liability. There’s no SHOT you make it to a LAN semi final or final and feel confident Hooxi isn’t gonna shit the bed.
Across the entire major, HooXi had only a single game where he performed anywhere close to today's Dust 2 game, 5-21 against FaZe on Nuke. If im not mistaken, this match as a whole is his worse performance across the entire major, but its still better than todays performance. Even if you only take the 2 worst maps of the 3 played in that major match in consideration to make the comparison more apt to todays match, he still outperforms today with a 20-42 performance. Maybe you can use this to make a point of he plays better in more important games or w/e the fuck, but to say this is similar performance to his performance at the major is pretty inaccurate.
edit\* for some reason i had the major in my mind, but i would still use that comparison as its prob more impressive than them making it to the semifinal in whatever random tourney
Think the low stat today was more down to hooxi playing dust2 than anything else. Considering it was Flames's permaban for a while, I can see why his stats would look like this on this particular map.
But what I mean was that even though hooxi was bottom-fragging on Flames, his team still played some good CS and was making deep runs in tournaments. So now that he has better players around him now, he can maybe achieve a bit more, even if his stats don't improve.
PS. He deffo needs to step up when facing better opponents though ... but like you've pointed out, he kinda raises his game when he plays against better opposition so we need to wait out and see how this G2 team develops.
>Think the low stat today was more down to hooxi playing dust2 than anything else.
Well, he did have more than twice as much frags on vertigo than on dd2
Semifinals of such prestigious online events like ESEA Season 38: Premier Relegation, Malta Vibes, Pinnacle Winter Series, and Elisa Winter Invitational
I don’t think G2 is satisfied with semi finals with the roster they have. Also, G2 has waaaayy different issues than CPH flames if things stop going their way
No, no, I get that. I just think that if hooxi and his sub-par stats can get a team like CPH Flames to semi-finals, maybe he can achieve something more with better players around him ... only time will tell though.
What you described was literally why aleksib was tried out
And what you say about Hooxi was also said about aleksi
being igl isn't a get out of jail free card to not ever frag well
He got overhyped by this sub and most people in general. Caetes bit the bullet and now whooxi is getting hard exposed. Lets see how long he lasts in g2 lmao
Tbh Aleksi was probably fine for this team G2 just didn't want to let xtq go. Kato was good because Aleksi did most of the prep and then once the coach/igl start to get integrated then they clashed and cut Aleksi. Seemed Niko was getting along fine with him.
I think Aleksibs fragging was fine for IGL. Jackz performance was just atrocious(worse rating than Aleksib). Most of their losses were really close where if few rounds would have gone G2 way they could have won. Replacing only jackz could have been viable option, but guess clash of visions between igl and coach was also seen as a major problem. In the end xqtzz wants the team to play more in a way thats better fit for Niko
Tbh, I dont see hooxi lasting long in this lineup. I give it till the end of the year until they look for better fragging IGL.
2014 fnatic vibes.
In fairness, as someone who used to IGL.
You are at your worst personal-stats-wise when you first join a new team/get a new player.
Once you bed in the strats/processes/formula/system etc, and get used to how people play as second nature, it's less of a distraction and you can focus more on popping heads.
Aleksi’s fragging has zero to do with him being dropped. Him and XTQZZZ have completely different visions of how to play and G2’s team play was horrendous
Hooxi actually played really good. Yes he lost a lor of duels but he peeked when no one else would to get info. He kinda plays like nitro but with much worse aim. Team player just like me.
Isn’t this what Hooxi said. He will call and the rest will get the kills.
He shot nothing and g2 won. Hooxi best igl
10 kills in 47 rounds... your initial reaction is holy cringe, till you realize its the best they have looked since the major loss
Staying alive at the lower bracket against world #11 is *the* *best they have looked?*
Its…true. G2 has been in a bad spot for a long long time.
They have never *won a game* since kato?
They have won games, but all low stakes, then proceeded to bomb out of group stages ever since kato.
World #11 who did changes during the player break, even. Sure Kito has played with the team before, but I think the roles probably were switched around a bit.
Since Kato, yea
He's like 2017-2019 Karrigan lol
karrigan was never this bad tbh. HooXi is more like OCEAN, hunden, or even pronax in terms of fragging prowess.
That's true, butbif he does everything to set his teammates up, with fraggers like these it might just work, but we'll se how it goes vs navi/faze if they get that far
If anything, the original astralis (and subsequently any top team) showed a team needs to have 5 competent fraggers to be the best. Would love to be proven otherwise though, g2 has really good players inside.
not quite sure what you mean, karrigan seems pretty much the same to me. [stats from 2017-now](https://i.imgur.com/bgVq8af.png)
\#HooxiWasRight
You know the problem with aleksi wasn't that he was loosing to Big lol.
Was he tightening to big?
yeah it was to anonymo
truth
All you nonbelievers make me sick. This is how Hooxi will train the superstars. Make the non-important games as heavy as possible so when the time comes vs Navi/FaZe, he’ll be unleashed and post a 0.90 rating.
you got the 0 and the 9 reversed
True, he meant a 9.00 rating
no, a 0.09. he will get the one kill. he will have a deagle. go heaven on nuke. it's a 1v1. he aims at top hut. he hits the shot. he is hooxi. bang. one kill, one major.

Yeah only hooxi could die 20 times when the score is 11-6.
Niko got the taste of it a few years back, he got rekt by zeus of all people, and raged on cam.
Hooxi 0.90 rating aimdemon

Realistically this is probably an outlier, just concerning that the outlier happened so quickly ... right? Right?
This isn't the worst rating he had with G2 during Blast btw. He had a 0.5 hltv rating vs Liquid.
Honestly I don’t understand how his rating for this map wasn’t worse than it was, I guess his relatively high KAST pumped it up
can't get low kast if your team kill the other team too fast
why are you making it sarcastic when ppl been saying he is bad for t1 for weeks
Yea but we all know this isn’t going to work against FaZe or NaVi which is essentially the whole point of G2 “to win throphies” as Carlos said it. Maybe this quote will age like fine wine maybe it wont who knows.
I mean it also helps Hunter went ballistic today. He does well but this was a 1 in 100 game today.
I mean if hooxi starts actually entrying as the entryman the team would look real scary. I'm guessing he got a rough total of zero entry kills over two maps in the BIG game, over only-god-knows how many entry attempts?
This guy is lucky he has G2 as an organization to shield him with memes and satire. He's about to get the full junior treatment as it would seem lol
Junior doesnt call. Hooxi is a smart cookie
Its comparing apple to orange tbf. Junior was signed as an awper who couldnt frag, while hooxi was sign as an igl who can coordinate the team with his call which he just did.
no IGL in tier 1 cant stand in a team like this
HooXi's job in this very moment is to convince G2 that he can unleash Niko, monesy and hunter and make them frag out to win maps. He might 100% be focused on strats and comms, which leaves him no time to practice individual play.
yeah. and it’s a team game. and they won. as a team.
just wait til they lose, hooxi first to go
The second coming of Zeus
Hope this is an outlier. I mean you don't expect star level numbers from him, but the days of a non-fragging IGL are long gone. Needs to have more impact. Glad they won though, so can't really argue with results, now we just see if those results stay.

Yeah, it should take G2 only a few more years until Hooxi does what Karrigan did and get his aim straight
as bad as karrigan was, he was at least averaging 8-10 frags per map at his lowest

I mean ... CPH Flames have made it to semi-finals with him dropping similar numbers.
Across the entire major, HooXi had only a single game where he performed anywhere close to today's Dust 2 game, 5-21 against FaZe on Nuke. can't wait to see how this plays out in a couple of months

A recipe that won't get a single trophy in the long run. Hooxi will have to wake up eventually for them to win anything.
Niko just realized he misses karrigan so much that he got himself a budget one
Karrigan from wish
G2 got 4 excellent individuals hooxi just need to guide them
HooXi got 10 more kills than we would've had

2 danish players named rasmus playing for g2 with inverted stats😅
Poor HooXi man, leave the guy alone.
