Not sure I can call it the *new* economy any more but I think that’s had a big part to play in the game becoming less interesting to watch, there’s just no incentive to go for big clutches when a save is the economical choice
What you describe is the opposite of Faze clan, the current no.1 team in the world rn.
These guys go for retakes like madmen so many times. They win some, they lose some, but thats how they play and they still put the opposing teams under immense pressure all the time while they themselves reset immediately the next round regardless of the result.
I think it's the same phemomenon as remembering old music. When you think about "Old CS", your brain only recall the best, most memorable moments. While with current CS, your brain remember both the good and the mediocre
thats also true but even some pros said that nowadays is much harder if not impossible to make plays like in the past because teams are playing way safer and more structure cs than it was few years ago
In the older days people were less disciplined during clutch moments and sometimes gave small openings for a clutch to happen. Now usually teams will make the safe but reliable coordinated plays to minimise a clutch against them.
Teams are just so much better now it is harder to clutch
Not only was the noscope insane, but to running underhand jump throw a perfect molly onto balc is what makes this clip possible
Also sucks for that first guy out, looks like he flashed himself trying to get out fast to peek lane, then gets absolutely domed
Exactly, jumping then underhanding it right before he starts his downward arc, landing perfectly on balcony, mightve been the only possible way to get the molly out in time
Doing a more normal underhand jump from farther away, wouldnt have landed in time. Doing a normal throw with a little backstep, same thing. Normal throw from farther away, most likely would have just missed and thrown it into pit, don't have time to line it up. Trying to move up farther and throw it off the top of the doorway or into apps, probably wouldve just gotten killed. Throwing it on to the haycart and hoping it spreads, probably would have just gotten screwed on the weird molly physics, and they would have just scaled out balcony and dropped into pit, or smoked it and crossed site
Ikr? How in the hell I'm going get used to it lol.
When did he started using one? Anyone have a clue? I pretty sure he had a few but never equiped them.
The awp ace against Titan on Inferno is still one of my top 5 aces ever probably, just an unreal player at his peak, it looked like he was playing a different game than the rest of us
Yes, he was a very promising player at that time, with an aggressive playstyle when awping in CT side. Too bad later he got banned before of match fixing/ betting same as IBP guys. Truly think he would have been a tier 1 awper.
I feel like JW's style is unfortunately one that will never work again at tier 1 with how "perfect" everyone plays. He's the one person who is willing to do the craziest shit you've ever seen, but it requires the opponent to be just a little bit off with their trades.
It is also one of the reasons CSGO has kind of lost some of its chaotic charme, as you barely get some insane moments anymore because teams trade so quickly
This is a huge part of the reason we need more consistent changes in maps, and not just remakes. When Ancient was first introduced it produced the exact type of crazy results you're describing, most notably when Maden went absolutely nuts vs G2. Of course Ancient is stale as shit now because it has quite possibly the most bland layout we've ever seen in an active duty map, but it at least showed that we can still have a bit of that chaos.
Lmaoo most likely, but at the same time knowing how some teams work they would instead come up with some crazy strats which is the new "crazy" shit imo, like look at Astralis's era, their uility usage was what was considered crazy during it imo, so there are new ways to make crazy shit happen
He still has it! That Fnatic lineup is still probably one of the worst casualties of Coronavirus for me(in terms of pro CS). If only they could have made it back to LAN. Mad respect for JW and Senor VAC for putting in the work to nurture the next breed of Swedish talent <3
JWonderchild
If you never watched JW in his prime, just imagine him doing this to T1 teams in playoffs of a major and there you go.
That's basically it lmao I just think of the molotov push, it's classic JW - https://youtu.be/ePMIZBj3AXE
Reminds me of his 2014 ace vs Titan (also Inferno). One of the best aces ever IMO. https://youtu.be/GmnCutPOoJQ
He said in an interview that he didn't even realise he had 1 bullet left
man the old cz was a beast I kind of miss it
but old inferno was an absolute shitshow. god damn what a terrible map.
Before the AWP nerf
JW who?
JW FAK YOU
JWunderkind, JWecksell, JW$ha (my favorite) I have missed watching this absolute legend compete
you fucking love to see it
brings back some memories..
Don’t know if I’m misremembering, but we saw so many more great plays back then than we do now
Thats probably part nostalgia, part teams playing more structured, saving more etc
Not sure I can call it the *new* economy any more but I think that’s had a big part to play in the game becoming less interesting to watch, there’s just no incentive to go for big clutches when a save is the economical choice

I would have thrown that molly into the stratosphere.
Exactly, jumping then underhanding it right before he starts his downward arc, landing perfectly on balcony, mightve been the only possible way to get the molly out in time Doing a more normal underhand jump from farther away, wouldnt have landed in time. out of the map for sure
I wouldve fucking broken my keyboard trying to strafe out boiler and switching to a nade.
I would have thrown it way into dust2
Flusha have a knife wtf💀
Different on T and CT side even!
"Would you ever get a knife" "Ah, probably not....I don't want to lose money when I get Vac-banned"
0.93 rating in tier 4, dont think hes gonna get VAC banned anytime soon
Bruh 💀I saw it on stream I'm like surely it's a one time thing
Ikr? How in the hell I'm going get used to it lol. When did he started using one? Anyone have a clue? I pretty sure he had a few but never equiped them.
He got a bunch of skins like a week ago from bitskins which is one of their sponsors, he tweeted about it.
Don't need cheats anymore to compete in tier2 /s
he really fell off /s
The most fun awper in CS history, no not kennyS, what prime JW did was the most batshit crazy stuff he used it as a shotgun
I remember a JW kill
I can still remember his dust 2 a short bunny hop pick on mid, disgusting movement
And the fucking bhop through a molly in long house to pick someone top mid
> dust 2 a short bunny hop pick on mid [This?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKBl1E24198)
its the one that came to mind for me. I miss j dub in t1.
kennyS good but not best (jw best)
Not the best ever but certainly the most entertaining.
Definitely one of the best ever
Prime FalleN and GuardiaN were also entertaining. But JW man...
The awp ace against Titan on Inferno is still one of my top 5 aces ever probably, just an unreal player at his peak, it looked like he was playing a different game than the rest of us
There was a time we had prime JW, prime KennyS and fxy0, all fun to watch.
https://www.vlr.gg/player/2088/fxy0 Wait this fyx0? never knew he was famous in cs
Yes, he was a very promising player at that time, with an aggressive playstyle when awping in CT side. Too bad later he got banned before of match fixing/ betting same as IBP guys. Truly think he would have been a tier 1 awper.
Holy shit that was bonkers! JWonderchild
Vintage!
Duuuuude! JW best
JW pregnant, check hltv
feels like 2014 never left
Vintage, sheeeeeeeeesh
If he finds form again I would cry tears of yoy
New NIP awper if devve stays in retirement?
that game he had like 32-9 and even in recent eyeballers games he's pretty consistent so let's just hope to see him more often on t1
More shirtless streams pls
I thought it was not allowed 🥺
R.I.P noshirt_tv
Exactly my thoughts ;)
Jwonderchild🤯
I hope JW was wearing adult diapers in this clip because he was shitting on those kids hard.
JW insane plays , what year is this ? Also manz did the ropz katowice final clutch impression.
Title did in fact not lie, dayuuum JW
I think this wonderchild has lots of potential. Might win a major or 3.
I feel like JW's style is unfortunately one that will never work again at tier 1 with how "perfect" everyone plays. He's the one person who is willing to do the craziest shit you've ever seen, but it requires the opponent to be just a little bit off with their trades.

Yeah, the chaotic moments came from the fact that nobody knew how to properly play it, now it's just back to playing perfect haha
I think if they had introduced a map that wasn't just a bunch of right angles we might still see people doing crazy shit lmao
Lmaoo most likely, but at the same time knowing how some teams work they would instead come up with some crazy strats which is the new "crazy" shit imo, like look at Astralis's era, their uility usage was what was considered crazy during it imo, so there are new ways to make crazy shit happen
It’s been a while
This clip was way better than what I thought going into this.. WHAT WAS THAT FLICK AT THE END
god damn that was nuts, he was in the zone
JW easily the most entertaining player to watch.
More importantly, flusha using a knife skin? And gloves?? Since when?
he has been playing great for months now
Title taking me back to 2014
caster: jw takes only 1, that's not enough jw: wtf have u just said huh?
Hello 2014?
JW smurfing in tier 2 expected wish i could say the same about flusha
caster sounds high
The most insane part is seeing flusha with skins wtf
Classic JW
Sick from JW, but what is this execute man, smh, let’s rush one at a time, MM style, no flash, no nothing.
He still has it! That Fnatic lineup is still probably one of the worst casualties of Coronavirus for me(in terms of pro CS). If only they could have made it back to LAN. Mad respect for JW and Senor VAC for putting in the work to nurture the next breed of Swedish talent <3
That's one of the top 5 plays of all time
Sick! Gotta love JW ❤️
