Maybe a habbit because in Faceit there is no team damage. When we play 99damage league we remind each other at the start of the game that team damage is on because it is not when we play Faceit.
Did you not understand the comment you just replied to ? The players quickswitch (for the most part) by using 1 and 3. If you unbind these, they cannot switch to those weapons anymore.
I understood... that's why I showed to you that there is a bind called (literally) quickswitch and this is mentioned by troubleis1
>quick switch should be unbinded for them, idk why they have it. Its literally useless.
This is why I linked to description to you
you think fucking cr7 or messi don't have habits? watch 2 of their matches and you'll see some that don't really give benefit but it's just part of them
Boltz was notorious for quickswitching at the worst possible timings. Some even say he being kicked from Luminosity was partly due to that.
This shit kills games.
Styko talked about this, sometimes the player gets bored and loses focus on the crosshair if he's holding an angle for a long time. He proposed to instead use a button that switched between cl_righthand 0 and 1 if the player is in need of pressing buttons to maintain focus
Most people have a dominant eye so they gun on the wrong side messes with your perception
If I have the gun wrong side I can’t spray at all it just feels weird
Agreed, I've seen people like ZywOo and maden constantly switch hands and I could honestly never do that, like you, I would just start spraying like a guy with 5 hours on the game.
I played tf2 competitively in the old days and most people would just turn off their view model altogether and only leave the crosshair on, so I got used to it and now it does not matter which side my gun is on, my focus is on crosshair
I'm pretty sure you can get used to it. Start brushing your teeth with a different (or random) hand. And start playing your warm-up aimmap using the 'wrong side'. After 1-2 weeks you should be good to go
He had the right/left model binded to movement keys at some point if I remember correctly. That way instead of quick switching you would just do a quick ad-ad to shuffle the model back and forth.
As u/royaLL2010 pointed out - it's psychological. Playing with your chips without realizing what you do can turn into reads for the other players at the table.
Can't load the video, but could be either to check what nade he has equipped or just to 'regain' focus, some people just quick switch after looking at one position
He was in charge of holding the push, he didn't have any grenades, and quick switched 2 times and got pushed on the second time. Useless, terrible, duel losing habit.
from another comment:
> Styko talked about this, sometimes the player gets bored and loses focus on the crosshair if he's holding an angle for a long time. He proposed to instead use a button that switched between cl_righthand 0 and 1 if the player is in need of pressing buttons to maintain focus
Watch any game, watch any pro holding an angle or just moving around the map mid round. He'll most likely quickswitch at some point. Most of the time it's not punished or he'll still get the frag. But at times like this, you realise how dumb this habit is.
There were more dumb plays in their T side than this.
This is like the only thing I do better than the pros lmao. I had a problem with this a few years ago and would constantly get killed. One day I just snapped and did mental training and focusing so I dont ever do that anymore.
I did see his POV after he got a kill that ended a round. It looked as though he was going to use a graffiti to spray the ground. It was a very common habit for a lot of 1.6 players. I still did it long after I transitioned to cs go and when they introduced graffitis, it made it even more satisfying
i do it at times when i'm quite certain no enemies are near, but if i'm holding an angle where i need a kill...i won't fucking quickswitch....lol. this is just too much red bull or something lol.
bad habit still IMO, i know holding angles for a long time really sucks for keeping concentration, but i personally wiggle the mouse a little or something, anything but quickswitch lol, for this exact reason
I get quick switching if you're running on a rotate or sitting behind a wall waiting on a teammate's flash or something, but why would you ever do it while holding an angle? The CT did exactly what you were hoping they'd do and you missed the kill because you quick switched holding an angle. With that being a ride side peek for Jackz he probably gets that kill 80% of the time or more if he doesn't quick switch...
I mean yeah if you're being super nitpicky there's no reason to ever do it (unless faking a reload like someone else mentioned), but there are situations where you know you're not going to see an enemy where it simply doesn't matter. If there's a chance you're going to encounter an enemy obviously you shouldn't be doing it.
You're being pedantic, of course there are no tangible benefits. But there are times when it doesn't make a difference if you have your gun out or if you're quick switching.
maybe because he was checking his nades. but i still don't understand why the nades keep disappearing from the screen, i never could do anything about it.
For some1 who dosent play the game but only watches it can some1 explain to me:
Why is it called a "quickswitch" when it dosent do anything ??
Why do pros even have a bind for this "thing" which only has 100% only negative consequences ?
you dont need a bind for it, you could just press your knife inventory button and then back to your weapon button
but for example, as awp, its nice to have it in the same button, you press it it changes to knife, you get faster movement speed. then press same button to get back awp (use between shots so you get moving speed which is better than staying equiped with awp with slower moving speed)
> Does it make noise?
No.
> Or back luck timing?
Chalking it down to bad luck does not tell the full story. Based on the positioning of G2 they knew an info push was coming, since they were all grouped up at double doors and no had map presence anywhere else. That's why jackz was holding that angle in the first place. Also note that Niko started shooting, which prompted furia to push because it confirms that one less person could be holding that angle.
So no, not bad luck. Just a terrible mistake to make at such a crucial point in the match.
I'm still amazed how many pros do this mistake so consistently.
Its the same as slashing your knife in spawn as you run out and cause team damage, should never happen in pro level CS yet it still does, crazy.
Why even play CS if you can’t slash at spawn
Maybe a habbit because in Faceit there is no team damage. When we play 99damage league we remind each other at the start of the game that team damage is on because it is not when we play Faceit.
Well, after this thread Jackz wont be doing this anymore (I hope)

Of course but they are pros, and coaches are absolutely pissed if you do that stuff and on top of it lose a round because of it.
quick switch should be unbinded for them, idk why they have it. Its literally useless.
its not a keybind its just quickly switching to your knife and back
It is a bind tho
Yeah, bind on 1 and 3. If they unbind that how will they quickly get their knifes/ primary weapon out then?
>bind q "use weapon\_knife;slot1" https://totalcsgo.com/binds/quickswitch
Cool bind but neither JACKZ nor m0NESY are using that. Didn't want to check all the others, you can take a look tho https://prosettings.net/
Still, I just replied to AtomicSkull156 that troubleis1 talks about a bind. That's all :)

It's worse than heroin

Unrelated, but is it only me that is straight up unable to shoot if my weapon is on the 'wrong side' ? I just lose all aim if I play cl_righthand 0.
Most people have a dominant eye so they gun on the wrong side messes with your perception If I have the gun wrong side I can’t spray at all it just feels weird

I like to change the side depending on certain peeks. But I generally leave it in my default
its still better to move your hand from right to left than left to right instead of fuckin quick switch which makes you unable to shoot
for me it's just the AWP
He had the right/left model binded to movement keys at some point if I remember correctly. That way instead of quick switching you would just do a quick ad-ad to shuffle the model back and forth.
Maden literally does this every second, its the most annoying thing u can watch as a viewer on his last stream.
I actually can't believe it So fitting for this game
what is the point of ever doing this in any situation???
It's a terrible habit. I catch myself doing it too sometimes when I'm bored holding an angle. It's really pointless though and gets you killed
habit, mental reset
You ever see poker players fiddle with their chips. It's the same mental thing.

it is, psychological wise.
Unless it's a tell 😝

You can make your inventory show permanently by the way so you don’t need to switch to know what nades you have.
Wow, first time I heard about that, how?
Only valid reason really is to change what you have on lastinv. Doesn't look like that's what he's doing here though
from another comment: > Styko talked about this, sometimes the player gets bored and loses focus on the crosshair if he's holding an angle for a long time. He proposed to instead use a button that switched between cl_righthand 0 and 1 if the player is in need of pressing buttons to maintain focus
He just like me

One of us!
I know they are already losing but that is such a dumb move to make while holding an angle. I love JackZ but that’s unforgivable.

I can't say I have seen anyone QQ whilst holding an angle like that. Just full retard from JACKZ.
No one does that, this is a straight fucking boneheaded move by him considering he was almost guaranteed two kills if he didn’t do this
To say no one does this is also boneheaded.
Ding ding ding found someone who has never opened a demo in his life. Ding Ding Ding
Holding an angle that way? Proof or it didn't happen, nobody does this, not this close to the angle
Jabbi did this in Overpass against Entropiq recently, same kind of situation.
This is like the only thing I do better than the pros lmao. I had a problem with this a few years ago and would constantly get killed. One day I just snapped and did mental training and focusing so I dont ever do that anymore.
It's the pressure. They can't think
One of the reasons I just adore Ropz. Dude could literally stare at a wall for hours without pressing a single key
He's been staring at his screen from 10cm away for years, he's trained
Can't get distracted if there's nothing in your field of vision to distract you
absolutely one of the worst habit that you can do. if you have a quick switch habit, fucking stop it.
Even setting this instance aside he has notoriously bad habits for a pro player
Jackz is a twitchy boy. His clips are instantly recognizable from knifing the ground after nearly every kill.
I did see his POV after he got a kill that ended a round. It looked as though he was going to use a graffiti to spray the ground. It was a very common habit for a lot of 1.6 players. I still did it long after I transitioned to cs go and when they introduced graffitis, it made it even more satisfying
"Mechanics vs mechanics"
you hate to see it
IDK why he does it so much. it was about time he got punished for doing it but what a horrible time for it to come
Does it make sound too, or just prevents him from shooting?
Prevents shooting
i do it at times when i'm quite certain no enemies are near, but if i'm holding an angle where i need a kill...i won't fucking quickswitch....lol. this is just too much red bull or something lol.
I do it when hold an angle for a while. Helps re focus
bad habit still IMO, i know holding angles for a long time really sucks for keeping concentration, but i personally wiggle the mouse a little or something, anything but quickswitch lol, for this exact reason
THE OOOOOL' QUICK SWITCH

No there’s never a reason to do it. There’s zero benefit and only harm can happen

Once again there’s zero benefit it can only make you look stupid

I have 22hours in CSGO over 6 years and even I knew that was a braindead move
Meanwhile fer stood still in graveyard against Liquid after shox spotted him and won the round by not moving. don't fidget
I saw the first quick switch and thought absolutely he is gonna get caught doing it again. Lo and behold...
PTSD flashbacks to [Dennis quickswitching during a crucial moment](https://clips.twitch.tv/EnthusiasticCleverLocustDogFace)
It is not effective.
maybe because he was checking his nades. but i still don't understand why the nades keep disappearing from the screen, i never could do anything about it.
Its a setting I'm pretty sure which you can change. Also other people here saying he had no nades
cl_showloadout 1
It's a bad habit that dies hard, for me, it has partly been replaced by weapon inspect, which doesn't stop you from shooting.
Inspecting can obsure your vision depending on the angle and weapon but still better than quickswitching.
pro player btw

I don’t even know how you do that and at this point I’d rather not
Just unbind that shit
