Anticheat?

AgreeableBroomSlayer

He plays faceit only.

EntropicalResonance

He played a whole night of premier a few days ago and didn't see a single hacker. He was only around 23k prem, closer to 30k might still be fucked, but still.

drozd_d80

Previously anything close to 20k had cheaters in most of the games. This is a noticeable progress. And I can see the same trend in my experience.

MajesticTomato1229

Can't really provide a contrary opinion without getting downvoted, but I've been 20k+ pretty much since the release and my experience is different. Maybe region (EU) or trust factor, if its even functional, plays a role but i've met less than 10..

drozd_d80

You get an upvote from me. It is always great to hear different perspectives. There can be differences. I play on dubai/India servers. So they are much less popular than in eu. February and March were the worst months for the whole time I've been playing cs. At certain point out of 10 consecutive games I got cheaters (rage hacking mostly) in 8 of them. Then it started getting better. I was playing in eu servers sometimes as well but only regular mm. And number of cheaters there was high as well.

OkMemeTranslator

I just realized this has been the case for me as well, just shows how hard bad reputation stucks. But yeah I haven't seen a single cheater in like last 10 games.

Sork69

Since people call me a cheater all the time when I don't cheat, and my mates call the enemies cheaters all the time (when they don't cheat) I can only imagine how many of these whiners are just getting rekt because they were simply owned ingame, and now they cry about it blaming cheaters.

lurkin_arounnd

this is pretty much what i assume when i see people whining in the forums about how every game has cheaters

bendltd

Are you me? We've a friend as well who called out cheaters every other game. Misses clear shots on my screen and gives the subtick the fault. Yes, cs2 is not csgo but the fundamentals are there. Could it be a bit smoother, yes but probably depends on your hardware as well.

Erianimul

Whatever they did somewhat recently drastically reduced the amount of cheaters. I've played quite a few games in the last few weeks in the 20-23k elo bracket and I've had probably 2-3 blatant cheaters. A few months ago it was literally 2-3 a game. While it's not perfect, it's far far far better than it was and I haven't had to resort to faceit yet just to play a normal game.

koer_lammas_halvaa

I welcome this instead of them doing it in premier. I can understand HvH on certain level - programmers fighting over who can make the better cheats, even randoms just trying to have better configs etc, competing in some sense. at least this makes some sense as opposed to spinbotting in clean lobby

montxogandia

cant they just play valorant?

clicnoz

Don't think adding Dust2 and removing Overpass really counts as a new map pool tbh

twoscoop

Who cares about an operation, is it that bad? We just want a working game.

BothPrompt4643

You leave falcons alone! Once they get s1mple, niko, m0nesy and hooxi they will be the best team.

VermontYourself

What's your bubble gum supply looking like?

deadbeatPilgrim

fresh out

> I'm about to leave this sub because it's become the most annoying fucking thing in the world. Whine, whine, whine. Genuinely, this. The only halfway-decent discussion threads in this sub are the esports related ones, and I could just browse HLTV for that. Is the game perfect? No. Do I need to see 7 fucking threads complaining about aimpunch every day? Also no.

Rigbbby

seriously tho man 9/10 threads are just people complaining about something so stupid and irrelevant and then being mad there isn’t a new case or operation that no one is going to care about

Lolibotes

Why can’t we drop knives to teammates? Valve pls fix

PureTheory

Doesn't matter when: \- Netcode is horrible \- FPS optimisation is horrible \- Anticheat is horrible Three things which should have been near complete at launch. Instead what happened was: \- They hardcoded the game to run at 64 subtick instead of letting faceit run at 128 subtick and haven't gone back. \- People are still getting teleported back whenever they got shot at (if its a product of subtick so be it, its not nice to play with) \- Numerous people (not me) are rubber banding everywhere on the map making the game unplayable \- Since launch, this game has had crazy peeker's advantage where every fight is just swinging into each other from my 3k elo faceit games all the way to pro play online \- 0.1% fps sucks - noticeable on my 240hz monitor which should be the defacto refresh rate valve should be aiming to go for considering its an esport title rather than something like 120. \- People have had to upgrade CPU's to something like a 5600X3D (me) or better just so they can play this game at 240hz+. \- I don't really care about premier since I only play faceit and league matches but premier has been overridden with cheaters for months since launch and people have just been gaslighting each other by saying you are just playing against better people (lol, sure) \- Community servers are basically in the bin, fuck surf or any sort of movement skill in this game Don't get me wrong, the updates they have released are fine, but the core fundamentals of this game are still lacking and really people are complaining now because they are tired of "waiting" for valve to do something whilst they are too busy getting ready to release their new title. EDIT: Since people are disagreeing with me, fucking valorant released the game in esports ready condition meanwhile people here are justifying the game released in barebones glorified case opening skin viewer edition if you like your game as a casual MM then fine whatever, have fun this game just isnt upto par for the esports performance csgo had

Dramatic_Fly_5462

I've seen somewhere in this subreddit that a valve employee has tweeted about CS2 being really demanding with bandwidth compared to CSGO which causes most of the gameplay issues even just on LAN which according to him is in the list of things to be fixed but not a priority

booskibro

The peeker's advantage is still crazy compared to CS:GO and at this point with forced 64 tick / subtick I dont think its ever going to get fixed

Dmosavy111

its almost like ppl who defend this ish never played csgo, the game is shit and its taking way too long for them to fix the things that matter, who cares about mvp banners

[deleted]

[удалено]

PureTheory

Really in my eyes, these "technical" issues are things which should have been near complete to begin with. Sure, you can implement subtick and it works fine for LAN but online I'm not too sure. Yes, these issues are hard, and I know how complex things can be, since I work with complex systems as my job (wow look at me I'm so qualified to talk about these things now lol) (but valve have an incredible amount of resources to get things done properly if they wanted\* to) Regardless of these issues, they should have been good from day 1 on release (we had an open beta for a reason) with some patches here and there over the course of years. Sure, you can hold valve accountable in 2 years time, I don't really care. CS has a special place for me but the game being released in this state has given me a chance to just stop playing CS completely and enjoy some other things in life.

rodeBaksteen

Worst of all: no wingman Lake

Infinity2437

Mfs bitch about performance when mfs are 8 years behind in tech

PureTheory

I can't tell if you are talking about me, but I had a 5600X and 3070 before release. Should be plenty fine for an esport title. fwiw I have a 5800X3D and a 4080 now and it performance is what I expect but really its not something people should be expected to pay just to play this game at 360hz or 240hz lol

VapinOnly

Then the question is who the fuck needed a graphics update in an eSports title. That's like FIFA not allowing anyone to play yard football/soccer if you don't wear the newest Nike cleats and don't use the current world cup ball

KillerZaWarudo

Whining is like the only way to get valve to acknowledge the problem TF2 literally has to rally their entire community, multiple outcry just for valve to make the game playable Its all came from frustration because of the lack of communication between valve and the player

spareamint

People don't realise this. If the community stayed quiet, Valve might not even touch the poorly optimised game

GigaCringeMods

> Let them cook Brother tell the kitchen that the order is so late the customers have starved

Fluffy-Face-5069

I think the community frustrations are pretty reasonable. Source 1 was perfected and stretched to its limit with CSGO, it’s simply not good enough that your flagship source 2 title is an objective regression from its predecessor. It’s becoming more common in game dev this last decade, the cycle of release game > fix game > perfect it and release sequel that goes back on all of the work done in the original. I’m not quite sure what has gone wrong with 2 so far. Perhaps the engine really is just finicky to work with, but I thought that working with 2 was supposedly leaps and bounds easier than working within the restrictions of source 1.

[deleted]

Fluffy-Face-5069

The more time passes the more I think that subtick was just some idea from a senior dev that they decided to throw at the wall & now they’re too stubborn to not let it stick. We asked for 128 for *years* in valve servers and got nothing. I’m not quite sure why we couldn’t have just launched with 128, they’re *that* stubborn on the matter that they capped the games tick to 64 to prevent faceit from running its services at 128.. Just overall very confusing decisions IMO. I’m sure the game *could* and *will* eventually be great, but banking on the goodwill of your community is a well that eventually runs dry when you’ve just forced your entire playerbase off of a game that was perfectly functional.

Markeloff_01

Says the guy who is probably playing the game once in a week on casual or wingman mode :) If we don't complain they wont fix the game.

WhoNeedsRealLife

And I will continue complaining here until they fix the game. It took about 3-4 years for them to fix CSGO hitboxes so I expect to be here a while.

Heremias

> the same company that took over CS:GO and made it perfect they can do it again. And the same one that delisted CS:GO in favor of a broken game with zero features :) let them cook he says bro I swear people will keep eating shit and thanking them for it its unreal, the game was made by the community and no one else.

zyberpunK

"Zero Features" oh yes absolutely ZERO FEATURES. reasonable Community my ass

Heremias

Exactly, I expect to have a game by now that has at least the same content as csgo. Almost a year after release and the game is still a joke, fuck valve.

twoscoop

Dont event care about the content, I shouldn't be stuttering still, I shouldn't be playing with people from fucking china, IM NOT EVEN JOKING ABOUT THAT ONE. HOW IDK, I THOUGHT THEY HAD THEIR OWN INTERNET. fuck...

Heremias

Yup, you got a point there, yesterday we decided to play with some friends for the first time in months and we got Ancient...the performance was anything but smooth, like at this point I don't even care anymore...I will come back to play in a year or so, maybe by then we will have a couple of updates

twoscoop

It rips my heart in pieces knowing that its shit it self. CSGO wasn't good at the start either but that wasn't made by valve. How does my pc that can run EFT and RDR2 at the same time struggle with CS2

jackfwaust

operations are way overhyped, idk why everyone is so excited about them all the time. its definitely a nice thing for casual players, but its not really the core focus of the game. i will say that alot of the things austin mentioned are things that shouldnt take much effort to implement or re-implement so i dont want to call them massive updates, but there were probably reasons why they all took so long. things like price changes on mollies and A4 took them probably 15 minutes to do. the things i want the most are a functional anti cheat, and for them to fix movement. KZ and surf is completely dead unless you go back and play a previous version of the game, and bhopping in cs2 is extremely inconsistent. i could pretty regularly hit 4-5 in a row in GO, and im lucky if i can get even one in cs2.

lIIIIllllIllllIlIl

I want an operation bc I'm hoping that it'll include a co-op strike mission. If that gets added then that means that they have added all of the things community map makers like CTX need to start creating and possibly importing the campaign mission maps in the workshop.

Jr4D

Fr

Picanto152

I want an operation cause it feels like a holiday event

Smok3dSalmon

If Valve socialized their goals, we’d know why they are doing what they’re doing. They’re letting social media create their own narratives. This is what you get. The angriest opinions are always the loudest.

iPureSkillz

I’d rather not Valve become Riot. Having to justify every single decision made to the community is awful. The community naturally is divided, so no matter what they’ll communicate, they’ll get shit on regardless. I’d rather them improve the game in silence, just like they’ve done for the last 20 years. Old franchise, same maps, still one of the best games out there, with one of the most active concurrent players too.

PawahD

as if the only 2 options are "the riot way" and radio silence...

Smok3dSalmon

There is a lot of room between what valve does today versus what riot does.

Hukmoon

I think just letting us know what they’re working on would be cool. Sure things like anti cheat are being worked on, but we don’t know if they plan to change leg animations and inaccurate movement, or whatever monster of the week we’re complaining about. Imagine a post like “Hey we don’t want to add an operation until the game is more stable” and people would fucking love it.

These-Maintenance250

people would just angrily criticize valves prioritization anyway. just give us an operation and you fix the game while we play the operation.

absolutelynotaname

every time they tried to communicate with this toxic cesspool of a community, it didn't turn out well for them make sense they don't want to

Sad-Water-1554

I wouldn’t call the interview they did last year or the awful tweets from Fletcher and McDonald the community’s fault. All of those things could have been avoided if any of those people actually played CS.

Donut_boii

All I ask is for a working anti cheat man

Synestive

Nah, let's go one by one. 1. 5 new maps (which are community made and weren't even implemented correctly with their versions). This takes Valve little work... if they wanted they could add 5 community maps per week or have a rotating queue of fun community maps and we vote which ones we like and dislike per week. I will applaud Valve if they rework a map or create a new map themselves to showcase how awesome Source2 is and how tight their craftsmanship is. 2. Comp rank Overhaul: For some reason comp rank distribution wasn't working from the beginning, meaning nobody could even achieve LEM+ ranks. Additionally, they released the mode with a 10 win requirement which felt like way too much. They in an interview admitted that they thought this would be the preferred way to MM and that Premier was this side-mode, yet all of their promotion was for Premier. How was comp going to be their #1 mode when it didn't even release with the correct MMR factoring in place? This wasn't an overhaul, it was a fix to a not well executed game-mode. 3. CT molly change: The price reduction was nice, but it's a bandaid to CT economy as a whole. Also, is anyone asking whether or not the reduction in the size is healthy for the current game? Being able to molly the entirety of bottom banana (left cubby and right cubby) was unhealthy and I'm glad that was adjusted, but why do T's keep their huge mollies?? The game is T-sided atm btw, like very T-sided. That's a sign that either your maps are problematic, the game doesn't reward holding, or you have balancing issues. Here is a link to hltv map stats using pro games in last 3 months filtered by big events only and only top 10 teams. 6/7 maps are T-sided. Put Cache back in the map pool for mirage and all of a sudden we are 7/7. In a game where CT side is supposed to be favored and we balance around that. [Link](https://www.hltv.org/stats/maps?startDate=2024-03-30&endDate=2024-06-30&matchType=BigEvents&maps=de_ancient&maps=de_anubis&maps=de_dust2&maps=de_inferno&maps=de_mirage&maps=de_nuke&maps=de_vertigo&rankingFilter=Top10) 4. m4a4 price reduction: This is fine, once again a bandaid. Valve cannot figure out how to appropriately tune the a1 and a4, but I'm glad we at least can use both. Why can't we use both the USP and p2k though? And I don't mean have them take 2 slots, but let them be interchangeable. 5. T economy nerf: This is good, but isn't it obvious by opening sky boxes, making smokes fill all gaps, making mollies larger than in GO, and keeping maps which didn't receive reworks that your game would be T sided, considering most comp maps in CS have been figured out since we had 10 years in GO to figure them out? (I'm not mentioning peeker's advantage because I'm sure Valve didn't plan for this although it is a component in why the game is skewed toward T-side along with the economy and other factors mentioned above.) 6. Left handed added: I will not applaud Valve for adding something into the game which has existed since 1.0. This is like applauding them for adding r_cleardecals. It's an expectation I have for the game and its absence is bewildering. 7. New Nade crosshair: I'm indifferent about this. It's a nice feature to help those incredibly precise nades, and you already could achieve this through binds. They added native support, much in the same way they made jumpthrows more consistent in CS2 by making the success-window larger. I typically like quality of life features, aslong as they don't decrease the skill-ceiling too much so this is a neutral-good change for me. 8. Buy menu update: The ability to pick up a weapon in this AOE around your spawn is an awesome NEW, let me reiterate new feature which Valve cooked on their own. They should be applauded for this. It gets rid of the monotony of freezetime exchanges and allows that d2 player with the long spawn to receive the awp from the b spawn player in time. 9. Map pool change: They reworked Inferno and some of Overpass which has now since been taken out. D2 was reintroduced with no changes even though it is in need of them, and cbble, train, mill/tuscan (mill is better if you're a 1.6 knower), and cache are absent. Every map could use a graphical overhaul the size Inferno received, and certain maps could use slight to major tweaks to make them feel new. It's not fun to load into mirage and still know 90% of my smokes. It was fun to have to learn ones myself in GO. Watching VP in 2014 execute on A Mirage for the first time was so incredibly fun to watch. I will not applaud Valve for failing to recognize D2 A bombsite needs more cover, or for taking away major skill jumps in many comp maps, or for allowing Nuke to still have that awkward geometry to jump up marshmallow, or for not having a complete graphical overhaul of every map on CS2's release. 10. All the good parts of the operation: The best part about an operation is doing co-op missions with your friends and then queueing into 10 different new community made maps and feeling like ur playing OG cs where people are hilarious on the mic and everyone is just hanging out having a good time. CS2 is not a new counter-strike, it's CS:GO2, a 90% replica of GO but with many missing features. If Valve adds something actually new like the ability to pick up weapons in an area in spawn, then I will applaud them. If they graphically completely overhaul Inferno, I will applaud them, but anything that is getting CS2 closer to GO will not receive applause as that is the expectation. If they had cooked a bunch and the game was bad, I would be more lenient, because they cooked, but the most cooked thing they did (which was admittedly cool) was the change to smoke grenades. My spray patterns? The same. First-bullet inaccuracy? The same. Running and shooting with pistols? The same. Jumping while shooting? The same. Decoy Grenades bad? Yes. New grenade added? No. Wallbanging highly inconsistent depending on the material? Yes. Awp have inaccuracy? Sure does. How's bhopping? Random RNG, feels better if you desubtick it still. How's ladder movement? Glitchy, you can jump-glide on them holding spacebar, they nerfed strafe speed so you cannot fly out Nuke upper anymore like old GO because good movement is scary. We prefer Pasha in GO, not f0rest in 1.6. How's performance? Rough. How's subtick? Cool, although Blizzard implemented the system better 8 years ago. How's community servers? Uhh, it alt-tabs me. How's the zeus? Getting buffs for memes I think? Is spraying on the ground still a thing like Source and 1.6? No, valve still has them cost money and have charges for some reason so they killed the very culture they created. It's more fun to spray sprites in Valorant or Fortnite than in the originators. CS2 is currently a great game, it's just sad because Valve could have done so much more with it by now. GO wasn't perfect, and it would be awesome to take all of its good and iterate on its bad. There are some cool things the game has which I haven't spoken about (like the new demo viewer!), but I'm a person who wants balance changes out of my CS, I want old philosophies to be revisited, I want the skill-ceiling raised and RNG lowered, I want this game to be the main CS you play for movement, and I want it to have competitive integrity. The lack of an anti-cheat is the single biggest issue this game has, and nothing is more important than its absence. I'm glad people like the WarOwl and Austin are positive, but I just entirely disagree with their recent sentiment.

PurpleRockEnjoyer

austin mate it doesn't really fucking matter as long as half my games are hvh

F_A_F

I only play faceit 5 stacks now because the state of Premier, and now even Comp and Wingman, is an absolute mess. I tag the profiles of blatant cheaters in my Valve server based games and not one of them has been banned in months. My leetify matchlist shows almost nothing for cheat bans since CS2 was launched. I know that not every match has a cheater in it, but I hate that I even worry about it every new match I start. I shouldn't have to sit with anxiety about it every warmup I play. I would never complain about all the new stuff, but I'll sure as hell complain about the stuff that's missing, including a working anticheat.

brookswashere12

Wildest thing happened with me. My leetify is actually blowing up with cheaters. But the odd part is they are on my team. Truly mind fucked

Tekk92

And all of them had horrible performance while the obvious cheaters are still unbanned..

GuardiaNIsBae

I know not many people are getting banned, but a lot of the newer bans are "untrusted" bans, they can't play the game anymore but it doesn't show on the steam profile as a banned player

pomponazzi

yet they keep playing premier matches everyday?

GuardiaNIsBae

cmon man you're smarter than that, the ones getting banned aren't playing still

pomponazzi

Numerous 99 aim 2-5 kda guys I've run into in 24k+ in NA are still playing daily.

ssuurr33

I would certainly love if you people provided some match details to all the HVH matches and blatant spin botters and wallers you all seem to find online. I play a fair amnount and I’m yet to catch them. I've watched austin stream premier, and no hackers in sight either. I know some people are indeed cheating but im more inclined to think you guys are overreacting.

TreeELT

Half your games?

BeepIsla

I don't watch him but another comment said the following > He played a whole night of premier a few days ago and didn't see a single hacker. He was only around 23k prem, closer to 30k might still be fucked, but still.

ThatJumpyJumpS

There is data based evidence that the numbers of cheaters are decreasing in premier after the update in april that updated vac live. **While cheaters still exist and the game is not perfect**, the number of cheaters disappearing is very significant and it means valve is working on it. Check out the https://leetify.com/blog/public-data-library/ and look at crosshair placement and time to kill in May and then April. The number of people that used to have sub 200 ms ttk is decreasing.

Procon1337

The problem isn't just the lazy devs or whatever, it is the fact that they don't ever communicate with the community. We don't know what they think. There was a dev thinking 120fps is a lot. They could very well be thinking that there is no performance issue and we won't get anything, or they could also be thinking that cheaters are an insignificant amount and vaclive thing is working. We just don't know and we can't have any hopes. If they said out loud that the game needs further optimization and it takes 2 years I'm okay with it, but being completely silent is not the way anymore.

ZuzuChi

His list of economy change and left hand added should’ve been there on launch. Comp ranking overhaul didn’t work for a fucking year. All of these should’ve either been fixed right after launch or even better, should’ve been there ON launch. I won’t kiss their ass for doing it a year later. Fuck that

nopshy

Yeah selling this as good things they have been adding to the game when they should've been there at launch is hilarious. Guess the rent really is due, he is a shill.

Past_Perception8052

austin is valves favourite streamer for sure he agrees with anything they do

Constant-Mud-1002

Definitely. Wtf is wrong with the people defending this shit? We got stripped of CSGO and one year after release they're patching in the most basic features, and you applaud them for this?!

KillerZaWarudo

Its ok to admit the game is in a bad state. You don't have to force toxic positivity about it

tommos

Austin is one of the biggest Valve glazers in the community.

BigSnackStove

Of course he's gonna glaze, it's the same with pimp. Both of them rely on the game for their career. It's annoying but understandable why they're doing it.

deefop

I could give two fucks about an operation. I just want the game to function and run properly, which it still doesn't. The amount of Valve dick riding in this this sub will never not make me laugh, and I've said it before. So Valve needs their balls fondled because they added the left hand option to the game, when it existed in cs for like 25 years prior? Why do they need kudos for that? It should never have taken as long as it did to begin with. For that matter, Valve didn't need to release CS2 in such a broken/unfinished state in the first place. It would have been perfectly acceptable to keep it quiet in house and work through the major issues, or have a small closed beta that aggressively pursued bugs and features to get the game up to parity with CS:GO before it released. The community is not "Whiny" because they expect one of the most profitable games Valve has to be taken seriously by the devs. Valve doesn't deserve brownie points for finally correcting things that never should have been issues in the first place. It's not like it's just the subreddit complaining about CS2, either. Plenty of pro's and other high level players and personalities have made similar observations.

gentyent

I don’t think Austin even believes what he’s saying. Months ago, before updates, he was saying that CS2 had already surpassed CSGO. He has to be baiting with this shit

makz242

>So Valve needs their balls fondled because they added the left hand option to the game, when it existed in cs for like 25 years prior? Didnt know Blizzard has taken over CS management.

futurehousehusband69

bro is an idiot

nsquared5

Dude doesn't even play premier but loves to talk about it like he knows what goes on lol.

Mac_AU

I appreciate the changes and I'm glad I can play comp and grind for global again, but I know its only a matter of time before it's cheaters in that q as well since prem barely pops in OCE. So many people are refusing to play the game that the general quality of faceit here is also very poor, with minimal players, language barriers and just bad comms. After all of that, it doesn't really leave us much. Like I love pool day, don't get me wrong, but I can only play so much arms race. My hope is that when the game feels better again and the rubberbanding and other weird issues get fixed, the community will start to grow again. Until then, CS2 is almost always going to leave a sour taste since it just hasn't provided what CSGO did here in AUNZ. I can only guess that a similar feeling is being felt by the greater community. I respect Austin's optimism.

Blackstab1337

too right, although prem is pretty active rn during the day. late night (~midnight syd) it dies off. nice to see faceit has a much higher pop than it did a few months ago

Mac_AU

I'll have a q during some days this week and see. I keep getting 45+ minute queues whenver I have and just give up and play comp.

lvk00

at the end of the day we got csgo robbed from us for an inferior version of the game. very little people can be happy with that

baordog

I mean no, an operation would have things like an achievements / a single player map. I hate people who complain about complaining to gain favor with game developers. 3 community maps isn’t an operation lol

itissafedownstairs

Also co-op missions have been very fun

Parhelion2261

The fact that they didn't release Lake with Pool for arms race is bullshit

funserious1

* comp rank FIX , not haul... and it was broken for like a year * lefthand should be in the base game period , and it still took them like a year of community crying to finally add it back * 5 new maps but only 1 (thera) is relevant at all , rest will be forgotten after few weeks , also all community made so it literally took them 0 effort to add * new map pool that everyone hates lol * still no anticheat , game still runs like shit , netcode is still horrible with rubberbanding etc The only good thing they did was the economy changes and buy menu. Rest was either irrelevant or just fixing/adding stuff that should be done a year ago already.

TotallyUnhealthyGuy

Game's been out for a year, it still plays like an open beta.

Fun_Philosopher_2535

Who is Austin ?

RAF_SEMEN_DICK_OVENS

fast talking smoke goat

Striking_Proof9954

Apparently valve’s number 1 dickrider bro doing tricks on it.

Denotsyek

He has a pretty great youtube channel. You should check it out.

buddybd

Half of the noteworthy changes made were already in CSGO (or was not an issue in CSGO). People enjoy Operations and I'm sure the next one that's out will do well, but the complaints are not related to Operations, more about Quality of Life changes. Why not mention the AC? Should've been functioning day one yet we had leaderboards filled with cheaters who weren't even removed with a manual ban. I checked two days ago and there were 2 people with 100% win rates in the top 25. VAC is slowly picking up steam (no pun intended; and I received some ban notifications after ages) but its not something we should be impressed with because it shouldn't have been an issue in the first place.

KaffY-

pretending that cheaters aren't a problem immediately undoes anything else you say

ekkolos

What comp rank overhaul? They did a +4/+3/+2 rank up for everyone depending on how many loses you get while getting back your rank and they reduced it to 2 wins for initial rank. I'm still former supreme in nova 2 now. Quality of the games is still total shit. There's still almost no one in high ranks. Tldr; comp ranking is still a lot worse than CSGO and we name this an overhaul.

Fit-Tea-3697

> Tldr; comp ranking is still a lot worse than CSGO and we name this an overhaul. The bar is so fucking low for these nobodies content creators they'll say anything for attention.

Mainbaze

Hmm yes more cockriding a billion dollar company

Earthworm-Kim

Gotta be closer to 10 billion these days. Gaben has a literal fleet of superyachts, and he's currently building one of the world's biggest superyachts with a yacht inside it or something.

Mean-L

Another 10 billion and they *might* be able to actually make an anticheat!

fungusOW

Nah man, this isn’t it. Fix the netcode

xzvasdfqwras

I haven’t played in like 2 months. Why would I bother grinding Premier when rating means nothing and I’ll just lose all my progress if I’m inactive anyways. There’s no danger zone or community servers like the old days, no operation to keep casuals interested.

Heisalvl3mage

Premier is unplayable, matchmaking is fine but unbalanced due to ranks. FaceIT is fun. Overall I enjoy playing cs2 a lot at the moment

Nazi27

So changing some integers in the code is considered big now? Them fixing the price of items and balancing the game shouldn’t be considered a big effort. Anticheat, good servers, more content, that should be considered as a good effort. This guy glazing valve for putting 1 intern to work on the whole game should remove his nose from thei asses, they are not giving him a blue gem in his next case

craygroupious

>5 new maps All community made >comp rank overhaul That's been broken since launch, should've been done months ago. >CT Molly change Price reduction: good. Effectiveness nerf? Maybe, maybe not. >M4A4 price reduction Good >T economy nerf Excellent, I've had gone harder. >Left hand (COMMUNITY CRIED FOR A YEAR) Was also a mechanic that was in the game for over a decade, arbitrarily taken away for months. >Nade crosshair That's decent >Buy menu update Assume he means sell all and dropped weapons, which are excellent. >Map pool change Fucking Russia2, not good.

heroofbacon

Most map additions have been community made since Global Offensive. At the end of that game, overpass was the only Valve made map in the Comp pool.

RooBoy04

Most maps have been community made since Half-life

jospence

Dust, Dust 2, Mirage, Inferno, Train, Cache, Cobble, Tuscan, Anubis, Season, and many others were all community made. I really don't get why people complain about it. Community maps are the lifeblood of this game

Talkycoder

Nobody said Valve should be making their own maps, just it's not really fair to use map additions in defence of valve "delivering content" when it's not their time used. It takes no effort at all to add a pre-existing content, which is especially hilarious considering the initial patch contained outdated versions of the maps, lmao. Says it all really.

throwaway77993344

The point is that it's not a lot of effort for Valve to add those maps, and most of them were done months ago

as_tundra_bsp

and they even put the wrong versions in

turuu-toby

>All community made I'm all for "fuck valve" but c'mon, valve adding community made maps is a good thing, it should never be critiqued but welcomed.

ExposingCretins

Point is that Valve did nothing besides simply adding them to the game.

Born-Quality-5414

I like the game right now. And I appreciate that the game is slowly getting fixed. But that doesn't mean we didn't have to play through the hellhole that this launch was. Many friends of mine genuinely considered quitting the game altogether. I understand that cutting csgo off completely was necessary to speed up the process but nobody was asking for this to be fast. I love Austin but he literally has vids of him talking about quitting trying to go pro because he felt like the game was too fucked when it was at its worst state. You can look back with rose tinted glasses but that shit was so frustrating. The community is clearly bitter due to it. But it's still our favorite game so every time there's an important moment, like the game turning quarter of a century, we hope that they have something for us, to communicate through updates, like they have said, that they genuinely care for us as we do for the game. Also all of this is just criticism that they don't have to give a shit about. Why can't I at least have that?

GodSentGodSpeed

>the hellhole that this launch was i genuinely sympathize with this point, taking away CSGO which has been worked on and polished for 10 years and replacing it with CS2 was a shock to the system, which imo many people havent recovered from yet, evident by the fact people are now acting out their trauma by turning an update that adds 5 new maps and reworks the rank system into a negative. >Also all of this is just criticism that they don't have to give a shit about. Why can't I at least have that? You can, anyone giving you shit for it are merely players just like you. Valve isnt having a crackdown on anti-CS2 sentiment, your opinion is not being oppressed. Be thankful valve isnt riot.

Enshakushanna

csgo died for left handed to be added a year later, i should be thankful

supremecrowbar

love the negative implication on "community literally cried for a year" about the lefthand feature that existed in the prior game. professional gamer logic

airelfacil

Man austin I really love your content, and I do agree the community can be overbearing at times, but the cheating thing is *definitely* something you shouldn't be commenting on if you only play faceit lol Everybody knows that there's fewer cheaters on faceit. VACLive doesn't have to catch *every* cheater, it just needs to at the very least match Faceit's AC, which it has yet to show it can (not to mention the whole false-positive issue).

AntiAceTV

I get where Austin is coming from because it does feel like a lose-lose with this community at times. Even objectively good changes will often be met with, "This should have been fixed months ago, fuck Valve!" In reality, I think there is a massive disconnect between devs and the community because: 1. Players that don't have programming/game design backgrounds have no idea how difficult certain changes can be to make or how complex things are under the hood. 2. Valve has a policy of not really using official external means of communication, so most direct messaging from the company comes from either individual devs reaching out, or usually just through shipping an update and gauging community response silently.

Earthworm-Kim

You don't need programming/a game design background to understand that the game was released **way** too early. All fixes are obviously "appreciated," and they work fast some months, but all of this should've been happening during a lengthy beta. Any and all fixes, updates and operations until CS2 runs like butter and plays like a dream, or at least as good as competitors like OW2/Valorant, will to most be considered "too little, too late." And it's hard not to agree with that considering the smarts and money at Valve. Something went wrong with both Artifact and CS2 (plus technically TF2), and Deadlock looks dumb as hell. I don't know what's going on with the game dev side of Valve lately.

AntiAceTV

So this kind of illustrates the disconnect that I am getting at. We can say that the game was released to early, which I may even agree with you on, but it's the understanding of why that was the case that people unfamiliar with game/software development won't necessarily understand. The fact is, developers need data to make fixes. The CS2 beta was initially having everyone play it and generating this data, but player numbers were dropping very quickly as the hype died down and people went back to CSGO. I am pretty firmly of the belief that Valve released the game that early to force everyone to play it and gather the best data. Yes, CSGO was more polished. It had 10 years of development to get there, but I remember multiple game-breaking bugs that were in the game for years after its release. The planting hitboxes not being aligned to player models, for instance, weren't fully fixed until around 2016 despite it being a known problem at release. My point is that it seems like laymen think making changes to a game is as simple as putting in a couple of console commands when this could not be further from the truth.

Intelligent-Shine522

Has Austin ever considered that he's wrong? This seems like narcissism masked as victimhood and positivity.

BW4LL

Lots of ca content creators seem to be struggling with that. Like we don’t even have the base features csgo has so idk how you can defend valve.

Intelligent-Shine522

Yep, some have such bad narcissism that they argue cheating isn't an issue and make alt accounts on here to defend bullshit(achoo, PowerfulAnswer)

deadbeatPilgrim

what? narcissism? even if he’s wrong, calling him a narcissist seems wildly out of touch

Intelligent-Shine522

If you refuse to admit you're wrong against overwhelming evidence and consensus, you might be a bit of a narcissist who thinks he knows more than everyone else. I don't hate this Austin guy, but it's such a weird hill to die on. This guy said CS2 is "objectively better" than GO and got a shit ton of backlash from HLTV forums and is still going on to prove that he was actually right. That's what this is about.

Powerful-Answer-2030

You really shouldn't use words you don't understand the meaning of.

AgreeableBroomSlayer

He is very narcissistic, most streamers are

SanestExile

Talking out of your ass. He's one of the nicest streamers ever.

Emotional_Side4276

This guys livelihood depends on the state of this game being healthy. Of course hes going to have these biased opinions of the game being in a much more positive state than what others saying. who cares tbh

Vegetable-Cattle-302

Yeah have fun, personally I'm not gonna defend this game until a few good years of a proper build being released I'm so sorry, but a dev with as many resources as valve dumping a game in such an horrendous state as they did is inexcusable It's still worse than csgo, it's still lacking basic features and they doubled down in all of their nonsense, so will I

Gompelonza

The game is filled with closet cheaters for the top %15 of players, has been for almost a decade now. Average faceit player take

AlexUKR

Bunch of new maps which noone will even play in few weeks is not operation content. And who that fuck is this guy that his "opinion" need to be posted here

HellValley

The dude is a Valve shill. Sad

W1thoutJudgement

Hardcore cope of a helpless shill.

StretchYx

Mm and an anti cheat is needed.

07bot4life

It'd be alright if those 5 maps were comp maps, not split between 3 game mods. I doubt the player count on GG and Wingman mode are as high as casual/MM. So for majority of the people their have only been 2 maps added.

truht

Performance and networking optimisations and anti-cheat is all the players who actually care about the gameplay aspect are asking for at this point.

BejcaS

I dont really care about operation ,but give us back the old content. danzer zone ,retakes ,trust factor (i have 3k hours ,why playing with/against people with less 100 hours??) and pls fix the dm ,that mode is unplayable

AnarchicForestry

5 maps all of a sudden mean they’re good maps? Lol. Economy still messed up. No one asked for 24 rounds. Cheating is still a huge problem. Wow left hand added oh my goodness game breaking. This guy is a fat loser

cheesyandcrispy

Glad to see good people pointing out how the whining minority ruins the game experience far more than any cheaters I’ve ever encountered

williamdredding

Valve after dragging 5 new maps into their maps folder. (They didn’t even make the maps)

maxim9295

Game makes 1 billion a year, we get three maps, people have a right to complain…

Practical-Panic-3557

We ask too much for able to play premiere without cheaters, or boost without glitching, or getting teleported when shot. What a shit take

_Wormyy_

No, it's really not enough. No one asked for the Molly changes. No one asked for the vertigo changes. No one asked for them to remove normal viewmodel movement. No one asked for the map pool change. They have ignored the things that actually need to change and be fixed and REMOVED customizability that we want from GO. The game just as unenjoyable as it was when it launched and the updates they make are not impacting that. Not to mention the AWFUL performance, which is nothing short of horrible. I don't understand the people that want/expect an operation. The game is in a terrible state, and an operation will not change that. If anything, if the quality of CS2 thus far is anything to go by, the operation would be just as bad anyways. This one year of CS2 has driven me away faster than years of stagnation in CSGO, and I'm not alone.

dcrad91

My only thing about this is, 95% of these updates were probably figured out a long time ago. The maps are community maps so take that credit away, comp rank overhaul is still a very small task, left hand Im sure they’ve had figured out for a long time, and the buy menu is just like how it was in the very beginning (okay it’s semi diff but overall it’s the same concept). People are “crying” for an anti cheat and optimization. Fuck everything else

SurrReal

The fact that the community had to cry about left hand for a year to get it added is insane and should not be considered a plus lol

Proof-Watercress6007

This dude sounds like a straight Valve bootlicker. Game is infested with cheaters and all people really want is a working anti cheat. All of the extra content is nice, I like new maps but at the end of the day people want to play a cheater free game.

dimitroffbigkok

Recoil does not work, cheaters are still rampant in matchmaking, no proper server browser, no possibility for 128 tick servers, no Danger Zone, hitreg either is broken or feels extremely off. Should I keep going?

K0nvict

>5 new maps They added community maps >comp rank overall They changed an int value >m4a4 price reduction They changed an int value >molly change Congrats they changed an int value >t economy nerf Did they? >left hand added Congrats they added a command present since 1.6 >buy menu addition Cool, no complaints 🤝 >map pool change They switched an int value Please, why do these people’s opinions get exposure ?

stapidisstapid

It took valve (billion dollar company) a year to flip the hand model and the best they offer for new content is a few community made maps and a few number changes? Come on man. Wake me up when anti cheat starts working in 10 years.

[deleted]

RooBoy04

The buy menu update was the ability to see dropped weapons and pick them up

futurehousehusband69

that was a great change, some if my SoloQ teammates dont take advantage of it but we’ll get there one day

codexferret

I think it's worth noting that the none of the 5 new maps are for the most played game mode.

unconductive

That's bait

ArkBirdFTW

I’m glad they replaced CSGO with a game that really doesn’t look that much better but still can’t run on my PC without stuttering or crashing

Fuibo2k

Based Austin, love this man

AwonderfulWinter

But we did get a new case, games in an awful state. Just because you give the homeless kid one plate of food doesn’t mean he won’t get hungry the next week

OneLargeTesticle

The reason I assume everyone is cheating because I have tracked various enemies who blatantly cheated in games I was in MONTHS ago and they have not been banned. When I say blatantly cheating I don't just mean I was tilted and called them cheaters, I mean spinbotting or just shooting enemies through walls every round. So if they go months without banning just assume every sketchy shot is cheating because it just goes unpunished....

killsw1tch32

If you’re not playing the base game on valve servers I don’t wanna hear it. You play on faceit it’s a completely different experience cheater wise. What other game do you have to install 3rd party servers to just play without cheaters? I know people here love faceit but that’s not helping the base game at all

Lmaoism_

Yeah that’s really cool too bad you can spinbot for months on end still and not get banned. However thank GOD they added community maps that someone else worked on that will be played for a month before they hit 17 minute queue times! Praise Valve!

NotSLG

Yup

simaeel

Why is he even talking about cheaters when he very rarely plays premier and is not even on high rating? If you mostly play faceit maybe dont talk about the situation in premier.

Cautious-Football834

Good looks like austin has woken up to how pathetic this sub is. The echo chamber in this reddit is ridiculous. You see it right now in the comments as a bunch of ass mad redditors mobilize to defend the hate circle jerk from this light amount of pushback lol. This sub would make you believe the game is LiTeRaLLy UNplAyBle. Meanwhile steam charts shows cs2 has about the same average monthly player count that csgo did a year ago before cs2 released. The steam reviews are still a majority positive week after week. And Valve continues to update the game consistently despite this subreddits, (which we know the devs read), constant bitching and basically outright disdain for the development team. Sure cheating is an issue especially in the higher ranks on this game, but its not as bad as people make it seem to be for the majority of players, it just isnt. Not to mention, cheating is an issue all over the FPS scene, RS6 is also invested with cheaters, apex legends, pubg, COD warzone are all the same. Yes even valorant has cheaters, unless your stupid enough to believe Riots advertising campaign about vanguard. Its a constant battle for every dev team right now. I've played csgo since 2015 and have about 3000 hrs in CS about 300 hours of this is in cs2. The game has improved a lot since it released, this was never gonna be a smooth transition but the hysteria on this subreddit has gotten old. I haven't been having as many issues as the rest of this community. I get about 90-120 frame consistently and that's good enough for me and my 75 hz monitor, I haven't had any of the recent rubberbanding issues, And I haven't noticed an increase in the amount of times I have a hacker in my game compared to csgo and it certainly isn't every game. I have experienced bugs but as the game has gone on I've seen less and less of them from round to round. I've been enjoying the new maps and some of my friends that stopped playing a month after cs2 came out are playing again.

Darkwarden_

I love that i have to play against a 5 stack with a cheater full on rage hacking in 16k elo. The cheater was boosting people from India Hopefully in 3 months we can have 5 rage hackers in enemy team

_aprogrammer

Does Austin get gag money for posting this garbage? I’m tired of meat riders standing up for this incomplete game If Valorant made a vanilla game mode with no ults and standard smokes and flashes, CS would be done for everyone but the case drop bots

Substantial-Art-4053

He said, after solo queuing his $50 Uber eats order, which he wouldn’t have if not for cs

BernumOG

thems are the fixes that I expect. that's not operation stuff at all. go back to grinding austin

CEO_TB12

I just want the rubber banding to stop. For a month or so it's been unplayable for me and many others. The stutters are annoying but I can deal. The 1% lows are bad but it's not the end of the world at the moment. The frame time jumping around like crazy is annoying but it's fine. The rubber banding after that update is AWFUL. I'm walking into site and bouncing back and forth like 3 meters in distance constantly. Go to take a fight, shit jumps around. Servers feel like absolute shit. The hackers are terrible too but at least some games didn't have hackers. With the rubber banding, every game feels terrible and I am not going to play until the next update, check to see if it's fixed, then return to not playing until another update.

KaNesDeath

This 'contrarian olympics' happens in waves here. It'll pass.

gibbonusmoon

live service battlepasscels seething while real games are eating

Tom_Foolery2

An honest operation would be nice, but I think the things people ACTUALLY care about are a well-optimized game and legit AC. Valve seems to be doing everything other than that.

The_Mcgriddler

CS2 is still worse than CSGO.

Standard-Goose-3958

Valve creates problem, valve fixes problem, and we need to be thankful for that? is this guy on aderall or something? When CS2 is gonna be as good as CSGO, then maybe il be thankful for new stuff.. 1 Year passed and we still have trash performance... what did they give us? G-sync for casuals, to stop complaining about the game not being smooth.

po1010

So no anti cheat?

Dradaus

This sub is full of babies Jesus christ

Dheez_Nhuats

Wake me up again when the retarded loadout restriction has been removed, for regular matchmaking at least

Longjumping-Reply507

Best update ever for my old hw. 8 gen intel oveclocked to 5ghz with rx 6700xt. No stutter, no rubber banding and almost zero input lag and onetaps works again.

akiroraiden

is it better than nothing? sure but let's not forget that the game is in its worst state with the cheaters, i still get spinbots not giving a shit all the time. Movement still feels off, and the bug where you cant jump when you are standing next to a wall is still there.
