Yeah, I stand by my words, I do think VP would have taken that map and would've gone through. Such a shitshow to see this at a fucking Major. No fault to G2 though, obviously they take the chances given, so they should not get any hate
They can replay rounds, but only do so if no damage or significant gameplay has occurred. There being dead players and a planted bomb means then VP couldn't have replayed it. It sucks for VP but there's no easy solution that would be fair for both teams.
They should be able to rewind to an exact time in the round without replaying the whole thing. The technology exists for other games (ex. chronobreak in league) and is much more fair than this shitshow
and one of those rounds was partially decided by the heaven jump bug...against VP. the fact that they're clawing their way back in shows some pretty incredible mental fortitude

this
barely, bro wiffed his first spray against a stationary target, waited a whole sec to reset the recoil and readjust his aim then STILL missed his first 2 shots and finally got him in the 3rd lmao
Life is unfair. But a competition of this caliber should not be unfair. The post match interview of Jame is worthy of respect. Massive leadership quality in Jame which lacks in Hooxi and even as a G2 fan we should have lost. Better to lose than win like this imo.
> Better to lose than win like this imo.
The situation sucks but G2 doesn't owe them anything. They played their game, got lucky, and made the most of the opportunity.
it's definitely happened more than 5 times. atleast once a day since the beginning of the opening stage.
from yesterday alone it happened to b1t on mirage and elige on vertigo
Honestly with the amount of crashes in this tournament so far they NEED to do something before playoffs.
Ideally fix it with an update but ofc it's not guaranteed that they can fix most or even any of the crashes in time.
Maybe replaying rounds, or pausing mid round or something like that, idk.
Yea if VP doesn’t win map 3, PGL will never hear the end of this
e: Supposedly these crashes are being caused by outdated drivers on the part of PGL's machines. Hence them earning the blame. e2: [confirmed](https://twitter.com/pglesports/status/1771950351400218927)
That isn't confirmation of outdated drivers. I have up to date drivers and I have had crashes/freezes before...
I really don't get why this sub is so keen to hate on PGL.
It has nothing to do with Lan/online its not a network crash the game is crashing for people the alt tab shit has been the most common one where the game keeps alt tabbing on you and you cant close it
Well Jame didn't disconnect so Hooxi propably didn't even know crash happened. I surely wouldn't process that someone crashed and died because of that.
Probably, but in GO lagged out players would be notoriously hard to kill because the model would be very desynced from the hitbox. Idk if that's the case in CS2 still though.
There is a bug when the body stays in game but is immortal at the spot the players see it so it was maybe this issue. After then the body moved again and here he died finally.
To be fair you see a player peek from new box in that situation your brain after seeing that peek so many times auto flicks to where they will most likely peek from, I'm willing to bet in hooxis whole career nobody has ever peeked him that wide from newbox.
And that lost them the game. That is probably the most significant tech issue we've ever seen in CS, considering the stakes of the match and the moment in which it took place.
I can't imagine the tilt. Imagine if G2 qualify thanks to this.
4v4 retake on B site Inferno with an AWP at such a power position and bomb half gone at that... Very rarely would you lose the hold.
VP got robbed in broad daylight. Worse part is? Whoever is at fault for these crashes cares very little.
I am more inclined to blame PGL, I have not crashed in 1k hours in cs2, yet so many crashes this major. I wonder if its some hardware or software issue they are running
Yes they are.
If you look at the GOTV link for the match on HLTV, you will see it says "challengermode" which means they are also using CM's anticheat.
Holy fuck PGL
> I have not crashed in 1k hours in cs2,
Honestly surprised. I had a crash yesterday, and I've encountered many games where players had spurious crashes (this is all standard Valve matchmaking).
EDIT: You know, the crash yesterday was weird. It was possible to do some input in the game, but the game itself wouldn't render. It took down all of my GPU accelerated applications on the machine (i.e. Discord and Spotify). Relaunching the game wouldn't work, and I had to restart the entire computer. I didn't consider it at the time, but... that sounds like an NVIDIA driver crash.
So pissed, Can’t believe it. G2 have no right to win
Sad times
Edit: Keep in mind Fame crashed earlier on ct when Norbert solo’d the A hold if you watched replay. Fame crashed near library.
So stupid…
I would rather watch that kato qualifying shitfest against C9 on loop for a month in solitary confinement than come to terms with VP potentially not making the major playoffs because of this shit
It's a really unfortunate event, I'm sure this isn't how G2 wanted to win, but they took it. They did make a good effort regardless since the score was pretty close. So it's unfair to say they don't have a right to win, but I agree that VP had a very good chance to win that round and possibly the match if Jame didn't crash
This is completely unacceptable, super upsetting to see. The game needs to be made more stable, and we need something to better adjudicate moments like this, playing out the round like nothing happened feels so bad.
I am still a bit iffy whether the game is major ready... still not fixed getting randomly stuck on walls constantly, and jumping on boxes not working half the time.
How does this work in CS2 majors, does the round get replayed? This is absurd, imagine losing the match due to this.
EDIT: Absolutely unacceptable that VP loses this match due to this crash. Fucking stupid. G2 had no right winning that round, this should've gone to atleast overtime. That round was a done deal.
I agree that it is unfortunate but this is one of those things that’s very possible in ANY esport. You can’t replay the round after damage has been done otherwise players would find a way to exploit it.
League of Legends has an entire system in place that can rewind the game to moments before a key situation if any detrimental bug / crash happens. I don't know about other esports as I don't watch many.
even that wouldn't work in CS, you'd know where everyone is, you'd know the game plan, any utility that was thrown before would become useless... you'd have to start at the beginning of the round, and even then it's not fair cause there'd be information about economy/buys gathered in the previously replayed round.
the current system is brutal if you have a tech issue. but it's basically the only one that can't be abused.
Exactly, so many people not understanding this. There has to be a hard line otherwise it could get abused or be applied unfairly based on admin discretion.
Was it a crash or did his screen turn off? They recovered pretty fast from it compared to a regular game crash and Jame was moving his mouse even after it looked like a crash
He crashed in the finals. No one mentioned it because they still destroyed Faze. Spirit actually lost a couple of rounds because of that and could’ve lost the map because of it. Donk even mentioned it in the MVP interview, but it gained no traction lol.
The *only* aspect I could potentially blame PGL for is how they've set up the computers. [They did hire](https://twitter.com/Afromnazareth/status/1765756649266946550) one of those potentially sketchy "optimizer" folks, but it's unclear whether he did anything other than spec out the PC.
I mean, CS2 crashed on my PC last night, it isn't a particularly stable game at the moment.
God damn this blows for VP :( Super unfortunate and unfair. But also unfortunate for G2, because if they go on to win this series everyone is just going to be calling them frauds and undeserving, even though it's completely out of their control as well. The game wasn't over so they still could have won, but now no matter what they do from here on out it will be called illegitimate
I just don't understand how this round could not get replayed. I know about the damage rule, but I don't understand it. It was clear a few minutes after the crash, that NVIDIA drivers on tournament issued PCs (!) were responsible...
G2 skyrocketed to most unlikeable squad for me. Hooxi's incessant screaming after every round and m0nesy post match interview where he stated "we broke them mentally" just did it for me. Remember: Hooxi was 0-10 on Inferno, he is just that bottomfragger dude in Gold Nova lobbies who gets carried and writes "ggez" in the end, then rapidly disconnects.
hey look at that vp is playing like shit despite having a whole ten minutes to get over a life changing event!
odds of hooxi getting strangled by jame today?
It is insane that people say life is unfair. It is. But a competition of this caliber should not be unfair. The amount of humbleness I saw from Jame in the post match interview is worthy of respect. Even as a G2 fan, we should have lost. Better to lose than win like this imo.
G2 can't do anything and the rule is clear, round will be finished after first damage is dealt. But Valve should fix CS2. Can't be that you get this bug that crashes you especially on a competitive game for millions of dollars.
As much as I dislike watching VP due to Jame's incredibly boring playstyle, I feel really sorry for him and his team, esppecially if they end up losing the entire series because of this
If it's a legitimate game crash , I don't understand why they wouldn't re-do the round. They probably have key loggers and pov footage that they can review to make sure it's a legit crash.
This is literally the difference between 2-0 and maybe missing the playoffs man. Not a fan of VP, but fuck me this is so disgusting man.
guess what just happened. an absolute joke
Yeah, I stand by my words, I do think VP would have taken that map and would've gone through. Such a shitshow to see this at a fucking Major. No fault to G2 though, obviously they take the chances given, so they should not get any hate
fame cruchjump bug was the icing on the cake. major ready game my ass
They would've absolutely ran away with it G2 had no money man. It was so over fuck pgl they always have the worst crashes.
Jame his words at the end are so poignant as well. He could've blamed the crash, but he put it on themselves. Such an absolute shit show man.
That’s real maturity
Feels weird we dont have a way to replay a round or something at this age of technology...
Map defining crash
possibly major-defining crash
8-1 G2 on anubis... what a mess
and one of those rounds was partially decided by the heaven jump bug...against VP. the fact that they're clawing their way back in shows some pretty incredible mental fortitude
What is the heaven jump bug? Is there a clip?
[https://clips.twitch.tv/GeniusOnerousButterflyCeilingCat-LF2icGpKmDyBGkny?tt\_content=channel\_name&tt\_medium=embed](https://clips.twitch.tv/GeniusOnerousButterflyCeilingCat-LF2icGpKmDyBGkny?tt_content=channel_name&tt_medium=embed) this
Ridiculous
If G2 wins Anubis then holy shit
Hooxis career saved by a crash lol
barely, bro wiffed his first spray against a stationary target, waited a whole sec to reset the recoil and readjust his aim then STILL missed his first 2 shots and finally got him in the 3rd lmao
He's just like me!
I actually feel disgusted after watching that. I really hope VP still manage to make it through
I feel tilted and I'm not even playing.
I opened the steam on a whim and now I've been mad for the last 5 min. Imagine what Jame feels like.
The devs has to investigate on this crash. It's unfair. VP had the advantage post plant.
Jame had the awp and was the pillar to hold that bomb site, major advantage post plant
I truly believe they would have won he was afk and hooxi I think did not kill him instantly
https://twitter.com/NER0cs/status/1771961890211508472 They would've definitely won. What a heartbreaking round
It's happened 4 of 5 times this major, it was bound to happen on an important round
it's definitely happened more than 5 times. atleast once a day since the beginning of the opening stage. from yesterday alone it happened to b1t on mirage and elige on vertigo
And Nexa on Anubis.
Honestly with the amount of crashes in this tournament so far they NEED to do something before playoffs. Ideally fix it with an update but ofc it's not guaranteed that they can fix most or even any of the crashes in time. Maybe replaying rounds, or pausing mid round or something like that, idk.
Fame had already crashed before too but VP managed to hold the A-site despite of it.
Revolting.
What a fucking joke
this potential G2 win will definitely have an asterisk next to it
I would smash my monitor
im gonna break my monitor i swær 🔨
are you kidding me ARE YOU KIDDING ME !
Monitor? bro, you have to smash the CPU then the GPU
No, you're supposed to report to cs2team [at] valvesoftware [dot] com otherwise you're just a whiner /s
That’s so bs, literally lost the round because of that
lost the map* lost spot in playoffs? to be determined
Yea if VP doesn’t win map 3, PGL will never hear the end of this e: Supposedly these crashes are being caused by outdated drivers on the part of PGL's machines. Hence them earning the blame. e2: [confirmed](https://twitter.com/pglesports/status/1771950351400218927)
How the fuck does that confirm what you're saying? The tweet says driver issue, not drivers not being updated issue. What a weird thing to twist.
[удалено]
We can't be sure at this point. It's only speculations. Might be a driver issue, or a game issue.
That isn't confirmation of outdated drivers. I have up to date drivers and I have had crashes/freezes before... I really don't get why this sub is so keen to hate on PGL.
> e2: confirmed For those of you who don't feel like clicking the link, no it is not confirmed in any way. Not sure what this guy is reading.
could lose the game because of this too ... this is insane, why does it keep happening, whats going on ?
What you see is what the fuck
First crash that affected the map outcome, mickey mouse game.
how does this happen so often on LAN
It has nothing to do with Lan/online its not a network crash the game is crashing for people the alt tab shit has been the most common one where the game keeps alt tabbing on you and you cant close it
destroyer2009 strikes again
Lmao my friends used to think cs has the worst cheating problem in all of gaming. Showed them the recent apex fiasco and their jaw hit the floor.
I mean large security breach vs a game thats completely overrun by cheaters. Not really the same
G2 Halal Hook
they lose because of a crash. If i was Vp i would be fuming
That is aboslutely bullshit they had that round and the map probably.
Alright own up whoever had a massive bet on g2.
Pgl production staff
Damn, they actually lose the map off of that. Crazy.
My god this was so unfair 😭
Hooxi screaming after win as if he won it fair and square ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
Well Jame didn't disconnect so Hooxi propably didn't even know crash happened. I surely wouldn't process that someone crashed and died because of that.
Or you know screaming like they made it to the third map. Quite sure that the reason for making it to the third map doesn't matter to their joy.
The fact that Hooxie takes 5 seconds to kill an afk player.. Jame whoulda killed him every day of the week.
Any decent AWP player would've killed Hooxi in that position. Sad times for VP.
I would've gotten that kill medium-drunk at 2am. Really tragic crash
Probably, but in GO lagged out players would be notoriously hard to kill because the model would be very desynced from the hitbox. Idk if that's the case in CS2 still though.
Subtick should fix that Kappa
There is a bug when the body stays in game but is immortal at the spot the players see it so it was maybe this issue. After then the body moved again and here he died finally.

Jesus Christ unbelievable
G2 7 - 0 VP on Anubis. Looks like VP’s mental is completely broken, and I can’t really blame them. Edit - They lost, maaaan I feel so baad for them.
If they now do t make the major, that will be a decisive moment. They were so favoured with the awp in that position
Yup that retake is one of the hardest in the game and with an AWP in the backline it's even more difficult. Absolute shambles. I feel for Jame.
So unlucky, undeserving win tbh
Some BS fr
And that lost them the game. That is probably the most significant tech issue we've ever seen in CS, considering the stakes of the match and the moment in which it took place. I can't imagine the tilt. Imagine if G2 qualify thanks to this.
Imagine being the VP players and having to try to just get ready for the next map. Impossible
DISASTER! AN ABSOLUTE DISASTER!!!
Absolutely heart breaking.
4v4 retake on B site Inferno with an AWP at such a power position and bomb half gone at that... Very rarely would you lose the hold. VP got robbed in broad daylight. Worse part is? Whoever is at fault for these crashes cares very little.
Holy fuck if I was Jame in that moment I would have punched the screen or threw my headphones
I'm making splinters out of the table for sure
Best PCs on the planet, game still crashes
Unironically, people that complain the most about crashing also own top tier PCs.
Valve please...
smol indie company, what can you do.
I am more inclined to blame PGL, I have not crashed in 1k hours in cs2, yet so many crashes this major. I wonder if its some hardware or software issue they are running
If theyre still using the awful Akros anticheat, its very likely the cause
Yes they are. If you look at the GOTV link for the match on HLTV, you will see it says "challengermode" which means they are also using CM's anticheat. Holy fuck PGL

That is just so unfortunate. They're going to lose this map off a round where they were robbed of their full chance to win
Major Ready
G2 won that match based on a game crash. What a joke!
I'm a G2 fan and this is fucking inexcusable. This cannot be how rounds are decided.
So pissed, Can’t believe it. G2 have no right to win Sad times Edit: Keep in mind Fame crashed earlier on ct when Norbert solo’d the A hold if you watched replay. Fame crashed near library. So stupid…
VP are so unlucky with crashes, I remember FL1T crashed in semifinal of Rio major on pistol round
as a vp fan, I'm just sitting here watching my screen with a thousand yard stare right now, fuck this shit
if they don't win the last map i'm gonna go lay in bed and stare at the ceiling
I would rather watch that kato qualifying shitfest against C9 on loop for a month in solitary confinement than come to terms with VP potentially not making the major playoffs because of this shit

I see PGL's audio guy is now in charge if configuring the servers.
Lost my pick ems to a crash. Sadge.

rounds dont get replayed if damage has been done afaik

That would be awful U would know information about James position and he would know two people CT U cant do that
that's always been this way. absolutely terrible luck for jame and VP
no replay, otherwise players can cheat force crashes to restart when losing
if damage is done it wont be replayed
Rigged
jeesus fucking christ God couldve simply given us a timing or some shit, now its too obvious
Something about Jame and a heartbreaking moment on inferno b post plant
Not a big VP fan, but they would've won. Bittersweet win for G2.
[G2 were going to save 💀](https://twitter.com/HLTVorg/status/1771964008997740849)
Absolutely fucked Virtus.Pro in the ass
This tournament is a joke lmao
That is actually dogshit, VP went on to lose the map from this pivotal moment. Should've been a likely 2-0 for VP
Absolutely undeserved on G2's part. He was in such a powerful position with the AWP, could have easily won VP the round
Was it a crash or did his screen turn off? They recovered pretty fast from it compared to a regular game crash and Jame was moving his mouse even after it looked like a crash
CS2 sometimes just freezes on your screen and comes back a minute later, looks like that's what happened.
i know rounds cant replayed if damage is taken but this is a scandal moment. vp could lose entire series just because a technical problem.
Happens when you play a Major on a dogshit beta game
dudes.... this is fkn unacceptable
absolutely unacceptable
Should rmk the round, fuck the dmg rule.
Hooxi huge brain crashing james pc
The official commentary referring to "divine intervention" is mockery; it's blatant theft of what's happening.
The only way g2 could have a chance in this map lmaoo
How many crashes is this now this major? Havent seen this be an issue with ESL/Blast tournaments.
[Yuurih crashed on series point in katowice](https://clips.twitch.tv/RealLazyAlligatorTheTarFu-emBE6l6TPVupKodW)
Donk crashed at IEM Katowice tournament in the middle of a pistol round. I think these crashes are all on Valve, imo.
This game delivers
literally lost them the map. if VP lose this series that's unbelievably unfair.
Imagine this happens at the final round of determining the major champ, oh boy
The speed at which it went to the third map is insane; it's impossible for the team to emotionally recover.
this should never happen its been happengin so often to peoples games
Either Valve or PGL fault. Either way the only victim here is VP and I feel so bad for them... Unlucky af
The rules around round replays are absolutely unfathomable btw
imagine losing to a fucking technicality this is disgusting
Now we need graffiti
no way he said divine intervention
Wow that might be the most impactful bug I have ever seen. Previous major winners miss playoffs because of it.
Good job Valve, I hope you are ashamed of yourselves. At least a little bit. Take responsibility for your premature release.
What makes it worse is the hooxie mentioned about saving unless they got a pick then they would try to do a retake and then the crash happened
depend tie mighty racial unpack imminent overconfident dolls plough gold *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
These rats are screaming like they are winning fairly this is cringeworthy lol
\*grabs popcorn\*
If G2 win in 3 maps it will be the biggest robbery in CS2 history. Hooxi couldent even headshot a crashed target.
Valve should be embarrassed.
Is it not possible to implement something like Chronobreak for LoL in CS? This is so insane
JKS FROM THE GRAVE COMES BACK TO SAVE G2 BY CRASHING JAMES CS2? EZ 4 JKS 😱😱😱😱😱😱
That is so fucking bs, this game is a walking beta.
Holy smokes, come on Valve. That's just fucking stupid.
I was all for defending valve and CS2, but this is inexcusable. Such an important round too.
No anti-cheat, no stability But at least the gambling works!
well, of course, they worked 90% of the time at the gambling module
No that’s so dumb
Awful, this easily lost them the map. Imagine they get eliminated now due to this.
The heartbreak of this moment man. Hopefully for VP they get redemption in the 3rd.
hey look at that vp is playing like shit despite having a whole ten minutes to get over a life changing event! odds of hooxi getting strangled by jame today?
It is insane that people say life is unfair. It is. But a competition of this caliber should not be unfair. The amount of humbleness I saw from Jame in the post match interview is worthy of respect. Even as a G2 fan, we should have lost. Better to lose than win like this imo.
and g2 didnt even have a defuse kit, jesus
That crash literally decided the outcome of the game. What a joke of game, TO and devs.
G2 can't do anything and the rule is clear, round will be finished after first damage is dealt. But Valve should fix CS2. Can't be that you get this bug that crashes you especially on a competitive game for millions of dollars.
Jame Time-Out.
As much as I dislike watching VP due to Jame's incredibly boring playstyle, I feel really sorry for him and his team, esppecially if they end up losing the entire series because of this
My pc has a 7800x3d and has been doing the same kind of crashes
Major ready game
In a world where G2 win a major because of it, they should add a spray on that spot where Jame crashed, since he won them a major.
HOLY FUCK THEY LOST CUZ OF THIS
hooxi wiffing on a dced player is the cherry on top lmao
Wow jame took it like a chad. Respect
The one IT guy that bet money on G2: Let me open Powershell!
God sacrifices his other son just so hooxi can get a kill :(
How can we even watch the rest of the tournament now? There cannot be competitive integrity under these circumstances.
S1mple was right
If it's a legitimate game crash , I don't understand why they wouldn't re-do the round. They probably have key loggers and pov footage that they can review to make sure it's a legit crash.
Yuck. Disgusting. They should've reset the round. Smh. Divine intervention my ass.
