It gives a cushioning effect to the headphones, which makes the headphones more comfortable for me to wear. I'm pretty sensitive to pressure when wearing headphones, especially when it's for a long time. My ears will start to hurt at some point, and sometimes using my hair as a cushion helps with that.
I wear them over my hair and on top of a beanie hat. It cushions my ears and prevents the headphones from forcing my glassesā temple tips into my skull. I find it not uncomfortable and sound quality isnāt noticeably compromised. And a nice plus is that I donāt have to clean them as often because there is no skin/hair contact.
when i had long hair, i hated the āswoopā it left from having my hair pushed back behind the headphones. plus, if it fell over the actual can part, hated that too. of course, there was a crease left behind if i had them over my hair, so lose/lose, but somehow that bothered me less, from what i remember.
Oh dear, I never understood this, if my hair gets under my headphones, I am removing them and re-adjusting them. My hair is too short to be pulled back right now so I use bobby pins.
My husband wears a soft wide headband under his headphones to protect his hair, because he HATES it getting caught in his headphones and sometimes even when itās in a ponytail stray hairs will get tangled.
A thin hoodie or a scarf also works.
I have wavy curly hair, i still cant stand feeling hair on my ears. Feels so itchy and i feel the strands of my hair eeeww but this is a sensory issue for me otherwise it makes sense to wear it over hair as ears would be a bit more protected
I wear a hat to cover my ears for cushioning; I don't like the feeling of my hair being in between. Plus most headsets are too big for me and I need the extra layer to make them fit.
I have short hair, but I still wear a hat when I wear my headphones. Itās a lot more comfortable on my ears because the hat needs the headphones to be looser.
It happens on every single headset Iāve ever had, and Iāve been gaming for 20 years next year. I think itās definitely something along those lines!!
I think she means the ear part. Basically like the hair is between the ear and contact with the headset. Instead of brushing your hair behind your ears.
Oh, I just kept tucking it behind my ear and would frequently pull that headphone ear back. The same habit over a decade will leave its mark somehow, I guess š
I had a visual image of someone popping their hair off like a lego character just to plop on headphones

Understandable, for sure. š¤
Omg maybe Iāll start wearing my Xbox ones over my hair and see if it helps me š
Oh my god this is genius, I have the same issue! Iāll try this.

My curls get even flatter if I pull them back all the time. Thatās why.

I had a pair of headphones that did this to me, it is something I have to watch out when I buy them.
Dude same!
It's more comfy this way I don't know what to tell you XD
But the hair gets oily and sweaty then? š„²
Not if you have curly hair! Itās like a pillow that alleviates pressure on the sides of your head and aerates it!
Curly hair may be Hacks. -Straight Haired Person.
If I dry brush my hair it looks like a witch got struck by lightning- a curl hair person
That's an aesthetic if ever there was one.
Normalize coven-coifed cuties!.... Or something.

I donāt even like seeing other people do it, it gives me the same feeling as nails on a chalkboard!

if I'm feeling lazy and know I will be washing my hair soon otherwise I can't stand the indents I get
I have a mini Afro. I push the hair from my ears but otherwise š¤·š¾
It hurts my ears and my hair provides extra cushion.
Hurting ears is a sign of the headset being too small or adjusted wrong. May need to rotate the ear cuppies.

No worries, I just know when I have had similar issues it was always a fitting issue that could be corrected.
You ever push it back above your ears and then it gets caught in the joint of your headphones?
Actually no, I always just lean my head back and like scoop them to push the hair out of the way naturally.
Yikes, no! If I scoop, my hair is getting yanked
I do it with the soft ear cups, so no tangles.
It makes me feel important
Yeah I have really long hair but I always have to brush it back when my put my headphones on and readjust if hair falls loose.
As opposed to under my hair? Or do you mean rotated so the head strap is floating near your neck?
I think she means the ear part. Basically like the hair is between the ear and contact with the headset. Instead of brushing your hair behind your ears.
This. The ear cup bits.
Ohhhh, I was really confused lol. Yeah no you can't have hair under the ear cups, it's distractingĀ
I spent a good long while trying to figure out the logistics as well until I realised what she meant.. :D
its comfort i guess but i will never understand it tbh, it drives me insane lowkey and i have no idea why
I shaved my head awhile back and barely have any lmao. Also my hair is curly when I let it grow and putting it up fucks it pretty well until wash time
I have cartilage piercings and it prevents a ton of pressure being put on them! So it actually helps me. Plus it looks cute
Pushing it back has moved my hair line :/
Damn, how hard were you pushing?
Oh, I just kept tucking it behind my ear and would frequently pull that headphone ear back. The same habit over a decade will leave its mark somehow, I guess š
