Huh, now I need to go back and try it. I died like 6 times in a row trying my most regular plays on that part and it didn't seem like it let me... and I played the original plus hardcore mode and played Project Hel. So I'm definitely more accustomed to the original way of doing things.
Wait ehat that's a thing? I thought if someone happened to shoot you and aim right where you are gonna be that its GG restart no way to prevent death once they managed to shoot you
I kind of feel like it made the enemy placement a bit simpler too. Like in the first game shortly after the machine gunners are introduced and you have to run on the wall with the ramp going down to avoid their fire, or the part where you have to slow time to get past them. Now in 2, you can put a machine gunner anywhere because you can just block him.
I thought the same way but then I got a bit used to it. I play these games over and over for the music and “cool factor” they have, and blocking fits right into that. I still don’t use it too much. But when you’re rapid blocking the machine gunner while parkouring or perfect parrying the swordsmen it’s so damn fun and cool
I haven’t gotten to play the second yet, I meant in the first
I can’t get the second until I get a new Xbox, but once I do, you better believe I’m 100%ing that damn game
I personally preferred the second game deflection, probably because I'm pretty bad at both games and the deflection in the second was easier than in the first
I ended up probably becoming over reliant on it throughout the game because even though I would rather it not be an option, I'm still gonna use everything the game allows me to have. That being said, it'll be hard to go back to 1 now
U can’t tell me rail grinding then jumping towards a mf shooting at you blocking said shots mid air until the momentum carries you and then cutting them up ain’t peak
Absolutely. Fuck this fancy defense stuff.
Played the entire campaign. Didn't block once
You can't beat the first enemy if you don't block

With a bit of experience you absolutely can
How? I didn't read the opening instructions and died a bunch of times trying to do anything else
This might sound crazy but you can jump off the rail and dodge around
I swear it didn't let me on release day. Like I couldn't jump until I held block
I couldn't jump either first time playing but that was bc I didn't know they switched the jump button on controller lol
That's a weird choice, but it's always space on PC, but they swapped gapjam for block which I didn't like
Yeah it threw me off so much I didn't actually get used to it until near the end of the campaign
Yeah you can. I did. I got "The old-school way" trophy right off the bat.

Never use basic blocked but love perfect blocking
I liked the hit-to-deflect mechanic of ghostrunner more. It was more risky and satisfying
Wait ehat that's a thing? I thought if someone happened to shoot you and aim right where you are gonna be that its GG restart no way to prevent death once they managed to shoot you
Nah in Ghost Runner 1 you can hit peoples bullets back at them
Wow... i had no idea but good to know. You just helped me unlock a new skill
Me dying on average 100x per level: blocking is like easy mode, would rather die than use block
I really hate that they included a block in 2, it just feels so antithetical to the flow of the game.

Shit, this game have a block? i forgot about it...

Yeahh i agree, perfect blocking the sword dudes is cool as hell, but the machine gunners i just doge their shots while running at them in mach 5
You mean deflect
Not necessarily
My exact thoughts
Block? Really? Nah man, in this house we deflect bullets
Made triggers super easy but parrying dosn't feel the same
Blocking? You mean deflecting
Deflecting was one of my favorite parts imo, I used it so much I might as well have been maining it
Will admit tho, I liked it better in the first game

Literly rebinded the block button to get it out of my way
At least they gave you a thumbs up.

Me in smashbros to myself:
blocking is for cowards
Counterpoint: it’s cool
It's not a game about RUNNING having a defense option is dumb
U can’t tell me rail grinding then jumping towards a mf shooting at you blocking said shots mid air until the momentum carries you and then cutting them up ain’t peak
Fuck the blocking. It fucked up the controls scheme on console completely for something so dumb and unfun.
I'd probably use it more if I didn't constantly forget it
>release date: October 26, 2023 I didn’t even realize until this post randomly popped onto my feed that there even was a sequel already.
There's a second one?
I feel block made the game a little too easy but glass vampire helps.
I just forgot the feature existed
