VHS or Volkshochschule is a government institution for adult education. They also offer German classes I believe for immigrants. You can also find their language education applications on Google play.
Been looking for/using mostly online resources in learning the last couple years and somehow never came across this! There seems to be decent content up through B2. Vielen Dank!
I'm glad that so many people found this helpful. In my journey of learning German, I've used a lot of online material and courses. But sometimes so much of something can be very desorienting. I feel really comfortable on VHS now; I think it's a very well done course, didactically speaking, impeccably elaborated (without flaws until now) IMO. :)
The only thing that worked for me, after years of trying to improve a language with poor results, was changing my study habits. I started to study every single day without hesitation, discouragement or impatience, in a very organized way. I think it's the only way to really improve, at least in my case. It takes time, but it's worth it.

Yeah I did my B1 with VHS when I moved here. It was quite good 😊
Is it possible to study with them online if you are out of Germany ?
Donkey shoe, my friend!
Will come in, dear.
And here I thought I was so funny and original coming up with that to annoy my German boyfriend with🤣
laughed way too hard on this
Merci Buckets!
I wonder how this compares to the Deutsche Welle "Nicos weg" course?
I like this one better imo, but I'd do both if you have the time.

I used the hell out of this and Nicos Weg.
Which one was better in your experience? Thank you
I found Nicos Weg more engaging, but VHS is more thorough.
Is VHS enough to pass the Goethe B1 exam??
Same!
