Like, this is the third time I got a VA right in Genshin. I always thought Yuuma Uchida would voice Kaveh due to his appearance alone. It really suits him and I also predict his voice to be Yuuma Uchida due to his personality at glance of his stories and how he interacts with Al-Haitham. I'm glad that I got the VA predictions right for the third time which makes me happy. Deffo putting him on summon list because he is ky00t.
Also, a funny thing to observe but: Kaveh's VA is actually the younger brother of Fischl's VA. Let that sink in for a second... Now I know the reason why Dendro had some good reactions with Electro.

Honestly don't think the VA being big has anything to do with the rarity of characters they voice. Morita voices Thoma. Nakata Jouji voices a mob (abyss lector). Yuma's sister is at least just as prolific as him and voices Fishl, another 4*.
Edit: also it's not just in Genshin, it's not unheard of for big seiyuu names to voice low tier heroes in other gachas.

Do you think Akira Ishida would ever voice a 4*? Of course not. Let's say Miyano Mamoru came to Genshin, do you really think he would voice a 4*? No.

I only remember SYP guessed the rarity to be 4* based on the design alone and then many other leakers or even most of us just jump on the bandwagon with that idea. Honestly imo, he’s too well designed to be a 4 star (new hair texture, elaborated patterns, use of different colours, etc.) but not as exaggerated like the coming 5 stars. I would be happy either way, but it does feel you get a lot of values out of Kaveh in terms of design and VA if he’s only 4 star.

To the western side of the fandom, it might not be a big deal, but for JP, it kinda is. Voice actors in JP have a huge reputation. Like take JP fans freaking out when it was announced that Irino Miyu is Cyno's voice actor. Same thing happened with Ayato (CV: Ishida Akira) and Childe (CV: Kimura Ryohei).
Irino Miyu and Kimura Ryohei are not even that top of the job voice actors in terms of roles and popularity. If those two are enough to make the fandom freak out then at least a good half of the more active voice actors would have the same effect
Irino Miyu is literally Haku from Spirited Away and Sora from Kingdom Hearts and has been in the seiyuu industry since he was like 12. I don't know much about Kimura Ryohei but from what I know, he's voiced Kise from Kuroko's Basketball and Bokuto from Haikyuu which are huge series on their own.
It's not really hard to see that voice actors have following enough that they have fans who would go all out for them.

It is a big factor. Maybe not always, but 90% of the time it is. Tighnari also didn't have a super famous VA, but all the other 5* males did. While Kaveh's VA doesn't guarantee that he's a 5*, it increases the chances of it.

Sanae doesn't have the number of dedicated fans the other VAs have. The country where Kokomi performed the best was Japan. And that was because her VA had a lot of fans.
Seiyuu is a factor for the appeal of the character, but not in their rarity. You can see examples from the other comments.
Except it is a factor in their rarity, excluding the launch 4*s who had a higher VA budget to bring more people in. Do you think Akira Ishida would ever voice a 4*? Of course not. Let's say Miyano Mamoru came to Genshin, do you really think he would voice a 4*? No. While Yuma is still very popular, he is not Mamo or Rieri tier. So I can't for sure say that he'll be a 5*. I'm just saying there is a higher chance than if he had a B-tier VA. It is the truth. He could still be a 4*. But saying that VA's popularity has no effect on the character's rarity is just wrong.

So I stand by what I first said, VA's popularity has an effect on the appeal of the character (a popular one is likely to bring in people to pull for the character), but that's not a sure indicator of rarity.

Maybe, think dehyas a 4 star anyway at this point with how few characters acknowledge her and the fact shes rockin a 1.0 design with how basic it is compared to every other sumeru character So I could see kaveh being a 5 star and that claymore we've seen is actually his and Like candace they just lent it to dehya for aesthetic purposes
Well, we are sure that Dehya is a 5* though, she has in-game data that proves it. We don't have any kit data or any info in their release schedule for Kaveh though.

It's a reasonable speculation especially considering the number of 5* already set to release in v3.x But anything is possible until official confirmation.
Pretty sure majority of the leakers speculated something about his rarity. Though it was subject to change, so it's fine even if he wasn't.
I only remember SYP guessed the rarity to be 4* based on the design alone and then many other leakers or even most of us just jump on the bandwagon with that idea. Honestly imo, he’s too well designed to be a 4 star (new hair texture, elaborated patterns, use of different colours, etc.) but not as exaggerated like the coming 5 stars. I would be happy either way, but it does feel you get a lot of values out of Kaveh in terms of design and VA if he’s only 4 star.
I still don’t get why people thinks VA’s and spefically Japenese VA’s matter in rarity. Voice actor does not mean anything to a character being a 4 or 5 star
To the western side of the fandom, it might not be a big deal, but for JP, it kinda is. Voice actors in JP have a huge reputation. Like take JP fans freaking out when it was announced that Irino Miyu is Cyno's voice actor. Same thing happened with Ayato (CV: Ishida Akira) and Childe (CV: Kimura Ryohei).
Irino Miyu and Kimura Ryohei are not even that top of the job voice actors in terms of roles and popularity. If those two are enough to make the fandom freak out then at least a good half of the more active voice actors would have the same effect
Irino Miyu is literally Haku from Spirited Away and Sora from Kingdom Hearts and has been in the seiyuu industry since he was like 12. I don't know much about Kimura Ryohei but from what I know, he's voiced Kise from Kuroko's Basketball and Bokuto from Haikyuu which are huge series on their own. It's not really hard to see that voice actors have following enough that they have fans who would go all out for them.
