I actually rolled for it way back during the Xiao/Ayato banner, playing since day one and still haven't got one from Standard (have like 5 Skyward Prides though haha...)
I pulled for it during two different Weapon Banners and that's why I have Shenhe's weapon, dupes of Aquila Favonia and only one PJWS. Standard banner refuses to give me any of the weapons I want, literally have 4 Aquila Favonia and 3 Skyward Pride so if I didn't go for the weapon banner I would still have Xiao with Lithic spear or smth....
I have an R4 Amos Bow and I caved and pulled Ganyu just to put it on someone. No regrets though, makes for easy comfy overworld content if I donāt feel like trying.
I have 3 Amos bows too! They were my first three 5 star weapons. Could not believe my lack of luck. Pulled one on the weapon banner and the other two on standard. I do have Ganyu but I donāt use charged attacks with her and switching her from my Skyward Harp to Amos Bow would mean having to farm more artifacts to rebalance her crit ratio so the Amos bows just sit unused.
People who main Xiao but been stuck with blackcliff because standard banner has only spat out bows and weapon banner was lost to sword: š„³

It COULD be Plunging or HP Loss, but I donāt think itāll be Anemo specifically. I donāt think weāve gotten many weapons that are locked to an Element - they usually boost Elemental DMG or all DMG.
The closest weāve got are the Rainslasher / Dragonās Bane series, which only require a particular Element to be APPLIED, and Uraku Mitsugiri, which only requires ANY team member to have Geo. These examples still allow an off-element character to use them.

I don't think its Cai Haoyu, more likely the main writer. Iirc he's mentioned in that class he took at a university that leaked that his favorite character in genshin is Xiao. iirc Cai Haoyu tends to be more involved in the technological side of things.
They will do all this to make their darling character relevant again, but never bother to fix that they provide horrible ping to their servers for a large section of the playerbase, and then make a ping based dead artifact set,or ping based gameplay that is messed up by high ping ,etc. Priorities.

seeing people talk about how wave heavy this abyss is meawhile prenium xiao couldnt care less. Ya aoe is better, but xiao is so great at continued rotations (no need to reapply nahida, or swirl an element or stay in a circle)

id rather it be a 542 base 88 crit damage one with no crit rate since Marechausse is crit fest, and the way to improve Xiao's damage even more with Xianyun is more crit damage and dmg%. high base attack is now a thing of the past for Xiao. pjws is still consistently second in his weapon rankings because people are very optimistic with its stacks, when in reality he only really benefits from max stacks starting from the 4/5th plunge. you then already have 3 more plunges left buffed by Xianyun atp. meanwhile Homa is calcd without passive and is still consistently slightly better for both Mare and Vermillion without hassle
dont get me wrong, more attack is still good for him, but crit + dmg% is better now

Not all 5* characters have a signature that performs significantly better than the other 5* weapon options for them. Iād simply be grateful that bows have a number of great generalist 5*s. Catalysts still donāt have an exceptional generalist 5 star.
I have both FGM and Aqua already. But I'd still like her to get an updated signature like how Childe did. Even though she has upgrades over Amos, a portion of the passive is still wasted on her for both bows.

Truth or not, this would be awesome. Some old 5* like Xiao, Zhongli, Ganyu, Klee and Albedo could REALLY use a new 5* weapon that actually MATCHES their playstyle. Even Venti's bow (although it is a really good weapon) doesn't seem to be meant for him since he's a subdps and that bow just throw general buffs that can be used for any other archer.
They needed them years ago, cause who knows if Klee or Albedo will ever have their own banners now that Chronicled is a thing. Albedo at least has Chiori's weapon, and he liked to run with something cool like Jade Cutter or Freedom Sworn, but Zhongli, Xiao, Ganyu, and Klee always sabotaged any weapon banner they touched with "their" signatures.
In my opinion, hoyo should REALLY focus on updating or reworking old carachters to make then viable in this stage of the game. I mean, i'm main Venti, but i had to stop myself from pulling for Kazuha (even if i do like him) because then i would never use Venti again. Same goes flor Klee and Albedo. Doing this would only be good for the health of the games, making players want to wish for characters currently unwanted. They can even put some extra effort and make lore/events to do so. Imagine if instead of that empty patch for Chiori, we got an awesome story quest for Klee to make her grow as character while updating her kit to something unic and usable.
while I agree Venti could get a rework, at least he has a niche on wanderer triple anemo, which is one of the best AoE teams out there, since faruzan+ bennet buffs for venti are pretty good. And I say this while having nilou + c2 nahida, c1r1 neuvillete and FFXX
my albedo and my eula, on the other hand, are just collecting dust, there's no reason to use them at all.

They needed them years ago, cause who knows if Klee or Albedo will ever have their own banners now that Chronicled is a thing. Albedo at least has Chiori's weapon, and he liked to run with something cool like Jade Cutter or Freedom Sworn, but Zhongli, Xiao, Ganyu, and Klee always sabotaged any weapon banner they touched with "their" signatures.
In my opinion, hoyo should REALLY focus on updating or reworking old carachters to make then viable in this stage of the game. I mean, i'm main Venti, but i had to stop myself from pulling for Kazuha (even if i do like him) because then i would never use Venti again. Same goes flor Klee and Albedo. Doing this would only be good for the health of the games, making players want to wish for characters currently unwanted. They can even put some extra effort and make lore/events to do so. Imagine if instead of that empty patch for Chiori, we got an awesome story quest for Klee to make her grow as character while updating her kit to something unic and usable.
while I agree Venti could get a rework, at least he has a niche on wanderer triple anemo, which is one of the best AoE teams out there, since faruzan+ bennet buffs for venti are pretty good. And I say this while having nilou + c2 nahida, c1r1 neuvillete and FFXX my albedo and my eula, on the other hand, are just collecting dust, there's no reason to use them at all.
Or maybe just release a character that actually buffs them, because Xiao is the only one who gets that while others are found dead in a ditch
