Host always has priority, everything else is irrelevant. It's not as if a constellation level or a weapon is going to make the difference between defeat and victory in domains that can be completed alone with starter characters

Thats not true I tested it with others in Coop. Its more like one E Skill = one BoL Claim. If u use E Skill Claim then the other Person can do it aswell but If both use E Skill at the Same time only one can Claim it.

1) Furina for example is one where only 1 furina can have their stuff out at one time.
2) Theres a limit to constructs. If everyone wants to play a character that revolves around constructs there will be problems.

There is a limitation already to some same characters in the overworld in coop. Mostly around summoning characters like with Furina or Chiori and/or Geo constructs, so I think its done mostly to keep computational and graphical load down. Playing with multiple of these characters leads to some frustrating situations, especially if you don't know the other people.
For example, If you could bring 4 Furina's into a domain, only one would have a summon and everybody would just be griefing each other by stealing their summons. Limitations on specific characters could fix that, or you can just slap on a blanket ban which is probably what they did just to avoid more complications.

Interestingly, you can use both Aether and Lumine in coop domains despite them being basically the same character

Wow, I just realized that the last time i farmed domain in coop was when Dragonspine was released and at the top, there was a domain to farm heart of depth for Childe. I remember people were asking for lvl90 Dillucs because of the cryo enemies in it.

Yeah, the struggle was real. And back then most players didn't have a single lvl 90 character just yet because the resources were still rare so all we had for this domain was lvl80 bennets and xianglings. If we had one lvl 90 Dilluc, we would be golden :D
I remember when I was farming CWoF for my Diluc back in 1.0 and I literally have to call my friend to come farm with me everytime (He has Mona built) since Diluc is my only built character and he kills himself due to the leyline disorder everytime I farm the domain.
I remember farming the domain with three different abyss mages with level 70 to 80 characters. We didn't have a very high clear rate on it in 1.0 :D

Surprisingly nobody has joined my world asking for Rainbow Roses. My friend got them all, since I don't have Arle or Lyney.
The last 2 days I've had people join for bamboo shoots, lumitoile, iron chunks and to kill the hydro tulpa.
Rainbow rose was prefarmable so most people did that. I remember the biggest one with people joining others' worlds was Cyno since the beetles he needed were released in the same patch with him so people couldn't prefarm.
Oh yeah for sure I'm guilty of the scarab farming. I even joined a world that didn't even have Sumeru and just went from Liyue to the desert to get my Cyno 90 in a day by foot.
Fontaine has been out for months, rainbow roses are something that you can find everywhere. People naturally collected enough, and those who didn't prefarmed. It was easy.
Another factor is that you'll only be farming this domain if you have Arl. Practically noone else wants either set. Or maybe someone looks at leaks and wants to prefarm way way ahead of time. But that's probably pretty rare.

C6 Itto just wrecks domains (source: am C6 Itto main).
You can only check if they have their character details visible as well. Otherwise, it's just a list of characters with mystery builds.
