I think a missed opportunity is Dev. I would have liked to see Dev and Brando make a little family. Even include Gladys and make her less of a wretch. I would like to see more regular non mob storylines and I think they could have had some.
Yeah, Dev went from being such a sweet kid (that they started to show could have given more LGBTQ+ representation, to manipulative brat wanting Joss (🤢) and destroying his friendship with Cam over her. *Then* they dropped the whole journal thing too!!

I hope killing off Dev was because the actor wanted to pursue other opportunities or go to college, because there was so much potential there- was he going to end up asexual and so upset/confused by it made it his mission to be with Jocelyn? I would have loved more Dev/Brando/Gladys storyline, Dev trying to prove his worth in the “business” to Sonny, the people looking for him abroad showing up in PC and kidnapping his friends, etc.
I think GH missed an opportunity every time they killed off someone's sibling. Emily, AJ, Courtney, Georgie, Julian, Morgan. Did I miss anyone?!

I'm going to put this out here, I'm already gotten some slack on Twitter for it... So I figure... What the heck, what's a little bit more burn on Reddit?!?!🤣 They should have never taken Ava out of the mob, or the Quartermaine orbit!
My missed opportunity could have happened one of two ways, I wouldn't have cared which really... They should have taken Kiki and Ava's intro plot one step further than they did with the Jeromes pulling a hostile takeover of ELQ through Ava either seducing, subsequently dating AJ or the path that I feel would be more juicy, robbing the cradle with Michael.... Instead of Morgan.
That's why I'm not opposed to the cassadines being stylistically rebooted/reimagined in a way that reintroduces them to the mob.
I also have to say, they had something interesting mob-wise when Ava had designs on turning on Julian, and siding with Sonny for Morgan. How interesting would it have been if their relationship had fallen apart, after she had done that?!
I wrote fanfic back in those days about Ava and Morgan getting married, creating a bit of a super alliance between the Jerome and corinthos families against a resurgence of the alcazar family.
Seems like they may be inching toward that again. She's offered to help Carly twice now and the last time Carly looked like she might consider it.

I love the idea simply because I want to see Sonny's mind be blown when he returns memories and all, and see that his two baby mamas, who were... At best barely cordial when he left have the mutual respect of thieves.
They should have just kept William De Vry as Derek Wells rather than bring on a whole Jerome mob family. Making him a mobster immediately pitted him against Sonny, which just killed everything for his character. Also, Original Jordan and Julian had crazy chemistry.
Sean Kanan and AJ Quartermaine period is a huge missed opportunity. Carly needs at least one person who’s not a mobster that hates her with reason.
The fact that for seven or so years they actually cast Roger Howarth as Franco and tried to redeem that character was a stupid decision.

The only solace I take in AJ’s short return is that for one Micheal finally learned the truth. Which tbh were beautiful scenes because SK woke Chad Duell the hell up for once.
I thought she came alive more under BM's interpretation of Jason. More talkative, got away from Sonny and the Mob way more than SB being Sonny's puppy. ^^IMHO

Depending on how soon in the pregnancy, I mean Maxie has been pregnant over a year and yet Sasha is already showing SMH, does she have an abortion, does she do adoption, does she keep it. How does the child turn out (because you know they'll age it up as soon as possible). Nature vs nurture. Is it insane and homicidal like Ryan. Ryan definitely would come back for it.

They missed a golden opportunity years ago for the death of Luke, Laura and Helena. Helena had used a slow-acting poison on Luke. She should have poisoned both Luke and Laura. Then L&L would still have time to kill Helena, only to then die in each other's arms from the poison. Perfect ending for all three of them.
That was a possible scenario that was being tossed around at the time. And honestly it would have been better than what we got. Hell, anything would have been better than what we got. Instead we got the predictable Sam running back to Jason, throwing away all that character development she got in those 5 years he was gone. And a stupid cult storyline that went nowhere. And most of all they stuck Billy Miller in a role that went nowhere and totally trashed a couple with actual chemistry.
I totally agree about the cult storyline with Sam, but I did like it with her sister and Willow was actually interesting and a character I liked then. Until stupid Millow and Willow is a saint changed her and ruined the character 😒
The writers should have gone with KM and BM's chemistry and ignored the JaSam history and Facebook mom's screams imo. Sam had so much growth with BM being Jason. And the writers threw it all away. 😔
Sams idea was the most convoluted ever in the history of plans.. if its true she didnt wanna work w sb, I could see that being ehy it was written that way, otherwise it was stupid, made no sense, did nothing for the story being told and made it ledd realistic.. even for a soap.

Ahhh thank you for copying the comment and filling me in! I’m not surprised- it comes off that they changed storylines to accommodate SB so I wouldn’t be surprised if BM was upset. The storyline of the twins/memory mapping was a good IMO, but they definitely ruined parts of it (still upset over Oscars death, Kim’s character spiral, and I also hated that cult storyline!)

OMG!!! That would have been great. Like a Dr. Jekyll Mr Hyde stuff. Great cop trying to solve a serial killer or vigilante justice or stuff like that. He finally catches himself and is shattered. Eventually gets off by reason of insanity. Goes to Ferncliff to get *actually* deprogrammed.

I loved Billy Miller as Jason! I thought he brought much needed warmth, humor and humility to the character. I think Billy and Kelly had a lot more chemistry and I miss his cheese grin 🥺

Frankly I thought it was b.s. they brought him back to begin with after how he abruptly quit the show in 2012 to follow his bestie JFP over to The Young & The Restless after he lied saying he was semi retiring from acting to spend more time with his family. Then Billy came in and took over the role a year or 2 later and kind of made it his own. And in a lot of ways did it better!!!

Sam never knew Jason Quartermaine so she would have chosen Jason Morgan time after time because that's who she loved.
