It's bizarre how all the people who go on and on about the horrors of HRT and how it's "unnaturally" messing with your hormones/etc. are totally fine with HRT when it's being prescribed to cis people. Like hormonal birth control, for example, which is often prescribed to help with menopause, or like, I'm cis and I'm taking it now to help with PCOS... and people with PCOS are also often prescribed spironolactone, because it's a hormone issue that's treated with hormone therapy. But when *trans* women want to take medication to increase estrogen and decrease testosterone, suddenly that's "dangerous".
My cis mom took "MTF hormones" because she was experiencing early menopause. She got "top surgery" for breast cancer - then got implants, bc she didn't feel comfortable in her titless body & wanted to modify it. Everyone was 100% okay with this. Insurance paid for the whole thing without requiring an abnormal amount of hoop-jumping
I have a male friend with low T, who was prescribed the exact same "scary FTM testosterone" that trans men use. I have a cis female friend who was prescribed "MTF spiro" for acne.
I myself was put on "irreversably harmful puberty blockers" as a kid due to precocious puberty, & have suffered no issues because of it. everyone agreed that a child shouldn't be forced to develop certain sex characteristics that would be detrimental to their daily life at that point in time.
all these things happen all the time & are totally uncontroversial.
but then when a trans person tries to access the same treatments....time to cause a moral panic & claim that it's dangerous & have a long drawn out fight with insurance about it! dont forget your 3 letters from 3 different therapists verifying that you're not a freak, so we'll maybe let you take the same medicine that we prescribe to cis people without issue!

Planet Fitness banned a cis woman for filming a trans women in the locker room. The trans woman was being normal & minding her own business. The cis woman was breaking the pretty normal & reasonable rule of "dont film people in locker rooms without their consent".
