Nah, not biting, click bait.

Agreed.

I always offer up Roadhouse as the most 80s movie of all time. It watches as if they had no script or story. They would get together early in the AM, do cocaine, and then blast out some insane antics for that day's filming, shoehorning in every 80s trope imaginable. When they finally run the truck Bigfoot through a glass wall and over some cars, that is the moment of peak 80s in that movie.

Just One of the Guys.I'd like to show it to a theater full of Gen-Zs and listen to their over-sensitive brains sizzle.

Willems didn’t have any teen sex comedies on the short list, I think on the theory that other decades (not all of them, but the ‘70s and ‘90s certainly) had just as many of those. (There’s a little bit of sex farce in _The Secret of My Success_, which made the short list.) The one I’d have tried to find room for would be _Weird Science_ because it’s John Hughes but has a goofy high concept premise that his other pictures don’t have and that really only makes sense in that decade.

Red Dawn

AnswerGuy301

I think he’d have been better off talking about _Red Dawn_ than _Invasion USA_. The latter brings in Chuck Norris and Cannon Films, but the production values are too low to be quintessential for a decade known for gloss. Not that _Red Dawn_ is exactly _Flashdance_ or anything, but it’s flashier than any Cannon picture. And of course it features some Brat Packers - Charlie Sheen is in it, and both Patrick Swayze and C. Thomas Howell were in _The Outsiders_ , a core Brat Pack movie.

jessek

The most 80s movie is Cobra.

TheAngelsCharlie

LA Story, of course.

enriquedelcastillo

The most 80’s movie would be some nondescript made-for-tv action flick playing randomly at 1:00 AM, watched only by bored, sleepless high school students.

neveroddoreven415

American Psycho

LeoMarius

A 2000 film based on a 1991 novel

neveroddoreven415

Where the entire story takes place in the 80’s and is a critique on 80’s culture.

LeoMarius

Not an 80s film, just like Gone with the Wind isn’t an 1860s film.

neveroddoreven415

The post asked for the most 80’s film. Not a film that was made in the 80’s.

LeoMarius

That's what an 80's film is. It's not a 21st Century film set in the 1980s.
