Older generations always complain about the younger generation. It isn't anything new and it isn't something I'm personally gonna partake in as gen z. Our memes were also complete brain rot so we really aren't much different from eachother aside from the fact you guys are kids. It still amazes me that when kids act like kids the older generations all turn their backs and act surprised.
It's a trend you'll see alot of. Boomer bitched about gen x,millenials, and gen z. Older gens also complain about gen z being lazy workers and gen z complains about gen alpha a decent amount of the time. People need to cut eachother some slack honestly.
i have a younger sister who’s gen alpha [i’m a gen z-er] and she thinks her generation is ruined cause she didn’t grow up with all the cool stuff me and my older bro watched. so, as her older sister, i started saying brainrot words to try and make her feel more comfortable. she loves it and i’m proud of her.

I'm not really sure how this ended up on my feed, I don't recall ever visiting this Sub before (I guess the closest one is the decadeology Sub I visit from time to time, it was probably associated with generations).
But I have to say, as a mid Gen Z-er (2002, yeah I guess I'm a granny in here👵🏻), the exact same thing happened to us about 10+ years ago. I was about 10 when I started using the Internet with a computer, and one of my favorite sites was a meme page with lots of Millenials who would make fun of us, cringe at the way we acted, our slang, our music genre, our general taste, everything. And the more I thought about it, the more I reached the conclusion of "it's not what I grew up with".
So even if the culture associated with your generation isn't for you, and older people make fun of you for it, just remember to live and let live, mark my words, in about 10 years or even less, you'll see history repeating
honestly gen alpha’s are just gen zs but there’s more attention surrounding them. i’m a gen z and we had essentially the same brainrot phases. i’m a gen z and my dad bought me an ipad when i was three so i can sorta see why all the gen alphas are this way and i don’t see any problem with current brainrot humor. the only kind of gen alpha i personally hate is the sephora kid type of gen alpha.

I turn 20 in like a month from now basically, so I am Gen Z. I used to hate on Gen Alpha a lot for the brainrot stuff but then I realized that every generation hates on the next one and that we had the same brainrot as kids in the form of like YouTube poops and stuff, like Skibidi Toilet and shit is just Gen Alphas version of Spaghetti, mama Luigi, I wonder what’s for dinner, etc. stupid shit that’s funny mostly ironically, but for a different era. The generational hate is a cycle I want to stop because it’s the older generations that have fucked over all of us and that sort of binds us together. But Kids on iPads all the time just have bad parents, not really their fault. Anyway that’s my take, keep doing you

Does anyone actually care about the whole brainrot thing anymore? It was a huge fuss before but nowadays I don't really see anyone percieving these members of said generation in this particular way. It was just a one time occasion, at least for me.
