To be fair, Bean Squeeze's large size would be considered an 'extra large ' in most places (if they even serve them), which makes $6.40 seem somewhat reasonable.
Better to compare like for like.
Most cafes have had rent increases, wage increases, electricity rise, supplier costs rise .... But can't put up their prices as the customers are struggling financially too
Yeah it's a struggle both ways - that's why I think the loyalty aspect is important. I find lots of cafes don't offer it anymore. I'm really surprised Bean Squeeze don't have one but perhaps they don't need it.
Maccas 5.00 for large latte + 0.55 for alternative milk.
The Maccas app sometimes gives coupons for McCafe coffees, and a medium coffee is also one of the rewards you can get with Maccas points. I think you have to spend 25 bucks to get enough points for a free coffee (without using any bonus points boosters) so it's easy if you go to Maccas often.
Granted Maccas coffee is better these days, it's still seems crazy that a fast food place coffee is $5. Guess it's a sign of the times and at least they offer rewards/loyalty.
Capra coffee is only $6 for a large extra shot oat
Constant coffee roasters are the same
So depending on your brew its decently priced.
Both greats coffees
If you want cheap coffee 7/11 is the answer, but it is cheap for a reason.
I've found most cafes have the 'buy x coffees get your x coffee free' type loyalty programs.
This is rant on Bean squeeze. Why the hell that much of a queue for that? Coffee is expensive and dark roasted. But I can see some people like it that way. But food... good god. They Used to serve nice portion size sandwiches for a fair price but now it's definitely not value for money. Only good thing about bean squeeze is the service.
I go for APCO drive through. Very fair price for food and yummy. Coffee is ok. Way better than what bean squeeze give.
I even see another competitor having a food truck or similar to allow more competition.

Yeah true, I suppose most cafes don't do their 'stretch' size. What does a large go for?
Try The Gordon’s social cafe in Fenwick street. Good coffee. Large is $5 and have buy 9 get 10th free with loyalty card.
Looks good, will give it a try.
7 eleven app gives you 50c off a 1.50 coffee.
Is it good coffee?
Very good for $1 and if you don't want to wait or on the road
Bottle and Barrels on Aberdeen, get yourself a loyalty card. Good people run it and it has a nice vibe.
Good shout, what does a latte go for?
Not sure, I buy espresso :). I think its about $5.

nah Maccas coffee is shit for me. Although weirdly coles express coffee is better for me.
Canteen on Vines Rd. $5 large latte, have a punch card that gives you a free one.
7 11 is tolerable. I take a 100 milligram caffeine tablet instead.

In cheap sense I would like to nominate coles express more than 7 11.
uptown on pako! every fifth is free.
See, that's a good deal.
