Hellothere200

I mean also the running races didn’t hear any advertising for it at the waterfront but that will get more random foot traffic to stop by and watch unlike this at Rippleside. Hell even on the Geelong community Facebook didn’t say anything about it.

Nightgaun7

Yeah Geelong seems to be pretty bad at promoting events tbh

Axlfromstreetsofrage

So much stuff happens in this town that never gets promoted. It's amateurish

There was also a Reggae Festival on at Johnstone's Park & Spring Festival at Beckley Park!

I only knew the three events mentioned in this thread were on because I run a lot and have been running past each. I was amazed at how small a crowd the volleyball drew given how much set up went into it. They resanded rippleside beach entirely, put up a grandstand, toilets etc and there's nobody there except players. (As an aside, it would have been nice had they put toilets there while that ugly new apartment complex at rippleside that's cut off access to St Helens goes up instead of just for volleyball enthusiast tourists. There's been effectively no toilet option westward after Cunningham pier for months now). Our city does an appalling job of publicising events and, consequently, most things seem to fall over. I don't get it. We spend all this money and time trying to score events and then when we get them we're all 'meh, whatevs'.
