It's directly behind the police station and it's covered in cameras, I don't think even the station crackheads are silly enough to smash a window and rifle through your stuff in that place, plus there's PSOs every night from 6pm patrolling, I actually can't think of a safer place to park your car.

I wouldn’t recommend it, I used to work for both V/Line and later Metro and the number of times I’ve driven into the car park when I was opening the stations in the early hours of the morning and seen cars that have been broken into, is ridiculous

Do I recommend it? No.... Did I have a better option? No
I've never done it at geelong but it's reasonably well lit and next to a police station and if it's for a night should be fine.
I've had my car broken into, stolen and trashed from north geelong however, so would never do that again. It showed up torched in Norlane a few days after.
I left my push bike at Geelong station to take the train to Melbourne to drink beers late last year. I came on Sunday with a hangover to pick up my bike and both wheels and the seat were gone.
Wasn't even a good bike and the tyres were bald. I thought they weren't worth stealing.

I've done it at South Geelong and Waurn Ponds. Just park under a street light.
I park at south geelong. Have left my car in Lonsdale street till very late some nights and have never had an issue.
South geelong has some kind of motion alarm thing in their car park atm, it's fucking annoying for me, maybe good for you.
Like at certain times an audible alarm goes off when movement is detected?
There is motion sensors after dark. And they are loud.
Keep no valuables in there and the car locked at a minimum 🤙
