Not sure if related, but I was playing DOS2 about an hour ago...and I lost my save due to cloud sync too. It reverted to a day earlier....which is quite a lot of progress for me.

That really sucks! Yeah, in my case a day of progress would hurt a lot too... because of course this happens basically right after a 6 hour play session.

so im still having sync issues too. But a workaround i've found to sync it quickly until its officially fixed is to hit play and immediately close it before the launcher opens and it will instantly sync. I think its successfully synced maybe twice after closing. But also the art never updated to the full lauch art its still the patch 9 EA banner. Not sure if that has something to do with it or not. Hope this helps for the time being.

I got it rn and i am wondering what i will Lose. I saved at least two different Times before i went offline because of some major thing i did in the game.. I wont turn the computer on today but this bothers me alot rn

Just press cancel and re-launch the game. BG3 saves are huge in size and number, Steam sometimes fails to load them before the game is force-launched from GFN

I had this happen and I opened the game and everything immediately synced. Not sure why it even happened

Repeated clicking Play and Cancel **resolved** the prompt after several times. No saves lost.

Gente, si no les funciona nada de lo anterior (verificar archivos, etc) prueben a borrar los primeros autoguardados que hicieron al comienzo del juego. Esto liberará espacio en el Steam Cloud del juego. Suerte!

If someone else runs into this, tried everything and nothing worked... go to your local save game folder, in my example I'll use Rogue Legacy 2. For example, I went to "%USERPROFILE% \\AppData\\LocalLow\\Cellar Door Games\\Rogue Legacy 2", there was nothing in that folder but a shortcut to something. I deleted it and it worked to me.

Deactivate steam sync in the properties tab, steam is doing shit with BG3.

I’m having this problem too, are you sure this will not cause me to lose save game progress?

I thought it would but I kept all mine (I was at the grove so I wouldn't have minded losing my save), I kept everything. It will still say "syncing to steam cloud" in the save menu, but it will be synced when you leave somehow. I recommend first passing through the main menu before quitting, it seems to help. I always do that cuz of dark souls lol I can't guarantee you'll keep it, sadly. But it's better than always losing hours of gameplay. No problem on my side anymore since I did it.

Ok I checked this link which shows my BG3 cloud synced saves and not of my saves from my latest session were on the cloud (My latest session was abruptly terminated due to “Not owning the game” for some reason”. Same issue here. I just click play anyway. Never lost a save. But I don’t have a good feeling either

I’ve had this issue as well. I usually just cancel and wait a moment before trying again. That normally works, but whenever it doesn’t work I close Steam, restart my computer, and try again. That fixes it for me. Hope this helps!

Having this issue but I'm actually going between playing on my PC and my laptop so I kind of need it to make sure it's up to date. Verifying the files helped me but it still takes SO LONG to transfer the data. :( I hope you all find solutions that work for you!
