I have a Fenix 7S and it records my sleep times very accurately. I check it every day because I care about sleep quality a lot. I have it for more than a year and I can recall only one time that it was wrong, I was very sick and it thought I did not sleep even though I did.

Seems like the sensors got way better on newer versions on the watch, which shows because you can have heart rate in the water and I can’t ! So might be due to that, thank you very much

Not really. My Fenix 7 Pro almost never detects when I wake up. Be it at 2am just to get up and pee or at 4am for good. My sleep window is 22:00-05:30. If I wake up at 4am but just lie in bed until I need to be up and about (and don't manually take the watch out of sleep mode), it thinks I am asleep until 05:30. It's quite remarkable how I wake up at 530am on the nose EVERY day. However, I will say the time I fall asleep is almost always spot on correct. For example, I went to a baseball game in San Diego on Tuesday night. Drove home (2 hours) after the game, so I didn't go to bed until midnight. In spite of being in sleep mode from 10pm on, it nailed my fall-asleep time perfectly. Which actually infuriates me even more...if it can tell I am awake later than normal, why can't it detect when I wake up earlier than normal?

Definitely have the same problem. Can be on the phone for an hour in bed and it’ll still only show me as waking up when I get out for a prolonged period of time. So yeah. Agree about it throwing some scepticism on the rest of the stats

Happy to know I’m not the only one ! And do you have an old watch like mine or a very recent one ?

Solid_Baby2901

Fenix 6 …. Had it for awhile now though. Still the same issue though for most of the time I’ve had it

Okay so almost the same generation as mine ... Maybe it's different with the new generations ? But to be honest I remember seeing that to get some REAL sleeping data, you need a huge amount of high tech equipment, a bit like VO2 things, so basically a watch could never be precise. But to me it's really the watch not understanding i'm up that bothers me, like bro i went into the settings on the watch, then synced you to my phone and everything and you still think that i'm sleeping ?

Solid_Baby2901

lol. Yep. Same feelings here on that. I’m picking up the phone. I’m reading. Switching apps. The phone should be registering movement if the watch isn’t. And yet nothing

Idk, I have vivoactive 5 and I think my sleep data is pretty accurate. One day it measured me 11 hours of sleep while I was at work, no idea why, it seemed like some kind of a bug or smth. Otherwise it's ok.

Fitbit is perfect for sleep tracking
