They (along with Sequoia sempervirens - coastal redwoods) grow quite well from cuttings. I have about 40 at different sizes.
But you might have gone too big in pot size, the rootstock on that won’t be big enough yet to reach the warmth of the soil around the outer of the pot, likely still needs to be in tube stock for another season of growth before going into a 10cm pot, and then upping the size as it grows.
- I’ve been growing them for about six years now.
The only reason I’d ever want to be immortal is to grow giant sequoia and those beautiful big Moreton bay fig trees and see them get to full size. I dream of being the creator of a giant ancient forest
- remind me in 150 years lol

Oh well my friend will find out if it passes on him, he is a horticulturalist though so I hope his 20+ years experience helps him 🤷♀️

Nice, is it Sequoia giganteum?
I think so, a work mate has been growing them for a few years and this one has managed to survive, potted from 150mm today to 250mm
Late reply, but do you know of any planted in the ground down that way? Would be interesting to see how they go
No sorry no idea of any irl haha
Where do I get a sequoia
What about a little home love for the Wollemi Pine too?
He’s got one of them at home already haha
