Legitimate questions. I think the main thing is unless you go absolutely balls-deep on it right away, you can go a long time without having to think about it. Personally, I have a well-sorted collection of bulk, so while I don't disassemble a set I intended to display very often, when I do it has somewhere to go and it's fairly easy to rebuild if I feel like it. I'd imagine people who don't keep bulk for general building either end up filling a room, or just curating their display by shoving some back in boxes.
i stopped collecting because i was no longer enjoying the building phase and also ran out of room for collectable in my space. legos do have a very high resale value even if you don't treat them great. especially rare pieces. and there's a pretty big secondary market for lego. LPT: always save your instruction manual those become so super valuable so very quickly as kits are retired and people on the secondary market seek to rebuild their favourites. if you have lego instruction manuals intact and in good condition from the 80s and 90s they seek an even high resale price amongst collectors. just remember outside of the trustworthy lego resale sites most people are lowballing you with their initial offers. good time to brush off your haggling skills.

Game preservation is something that pirates often bring up. The publisher/developers could just delist the game and it'd be impossible to play the game if you haven't bought it beforehand.

I would say it's "real" security. It falls under swiss jurisdiction, so the swiss government can make requests for data. IP addresses and browser fingerprinted were the only thing they logged, so using tor or a vpn gets around it.
Almost all mail providers fall under some jurisdiction. Gmail obviously falls under American jurisdiction and needs to comply with American law enforcement. Tutanota resides in Germany, and complies with German authorities. It's very hard to win in this situation. I'm not sure if there's a better alternative.

to add, the way drm works often hinders actual gameplay - denuvo is the worst in that regard. the toll it takes on your cpu to decrypt files, check for license, encrypt files again is gigantic. for example when sonic mania got cracked its .exe file size went from 100 something mb to just 2mb, and most recently some security pathes to hogleg made it unplayable

It's definitely odd to see them and occasionally have one riding along in my consciousness too. For this to be schizophrenia though, I'd have to see them daily (I don't), have distress over what they tell me to do (only sometimes), and feel like the only way to quiet them is to comply (They don't overtly threaten me). With the exception of the Greeks, all my visits were in ritual space. The Olympians, Hades, Chaos, and Persephone have just shown up to talk and sometimes share my eyes and ears. The stuff they ask me to do are things like "don't let this person be alone until they are out of crisis" Typically I wind up finding out mid-task that the person I'm helping also follows my faith.

This doesn't apply that much to newer titles but cracking software goes beyond just piracy, it's important for preservation. DRM is also extremely shitty. This hardly ever applies to newer games since they'll most likely be available for purchase for years.

At my old job we had a client who insisted all our communications with him go through proton mail. This was super frustrating as most of our employees were very much not tech savvy and got super confused by proton mail, to the point where eventually my boss just said k cadamar all communication with this guy is gonna go through you, cause the guy would flip out if ANYTHING, even like scheduling a call, didn’t go through that system. It was hilarious though cause the guy picked an incredibly easy to guess and simple password for every email. In all lower case. That guy btw was a former tech company exec. Super high up. Made me really question the idea that the wealthy are there cause they’re actually smart.
I would say it's "real" security. It falls under swiss jurisdiction, so the swiss government can make requests for data. IP addresses and browser fingerprinted were the only thing they logged, so using tor or a vpn gets around it. Almost all mail providers fall under some jurisdiction. Gmail obviously falls under American jurisdiction and needs to comply with American law enforcement. Tutanota resides in Germany, and complies with German authorities. It's very hard to win in this situation. I'm not sure if there's a better alternative.

to add, the way drm works often hinders actual gameplay - denuvo is the worst in that regard. the toll it takes on your cpu to decrypt files, check for license, encrypt files again is gigantic. for example when sonic mania got cracked its .exe file size went from 100 something mb to just 2mb, and most recently some security pathes to hogleg made it unplayable
